I think Lanterns is a show because they want a several hour long format for the story to really dive into the lore and the mystery they uncover, and one movie would be way too short for that. I don’t think James Gunn cares if the 2011 film didn’t do well or not, they’re cooking something up

I like how you brought up how the older Hal Jordan casting could be a problem because one of the main problems I have with the older Hal Jordan casting is that this kinda messes with Sinestro as a villain. You can't really have a Sinestro without Hal because so much of Sinestro's motivation is rooted in his attachment to Abin Sur and how Hal is so different from him. And seeing how Sinestro is like the main bad guy people think of when they think of Green Lantern, this could be a huge problem.

@@Ennylack yeah, and it’ll be interesting to eventually see the lanterns square off with him, but it won’t be the same without Hal. They’ll prob just write sinestro’s age as his alien species aging differently, a lot slower than humans would be my guess.

Just incase a lot of people haven’t seen James Gunn interviews. Peacemaker season 1 is all completely canon now with Creature Commandos season 1. The only thing not canon is the Justice League appearance and apparently that will be resolved in season 2. Just wanted to clarify for those that come back to this video who haven’t seen that :)

I agree with a lot of your takes, great video! Alan Moore's Swamp Thing run, is the greatest run in all of comics. There's so much potential there. Geoff Johns' Green Lantern run is also so amazing, I really hope the Lanterns series is pulling a lot from that run, because it really is the best of the best. Also, I really need Hal interacting with both Ollie and Barry Allen, but sadly I don't think it will happen...

The Bane & Deathstroke (likely Secret Six) project sounds like it could be like Arkham Origins with a group of villains all trying to kill Batman and collect a bounty, with Bane & Deathstroke particularly battling it out. It'd be cool if the "villain" of the movie was Batman.

Paradise Lost is an interesting prospect among all these other DCU projects. These projects are all supposed to work well on their own while also contributing to the larger narrative. I think Paradise Lost will be vastly separated from the rest of the continuity almost exclusively due to the time difference. This could produce numerous stories and plot lines that won’t impact the overarching story as most of the characters have passed on or become irrelevant in the passed time. I think if Paradise Lost becomes a hit with not only DCU fans, but general viewers, it could spawn multiple seasons leading to the rise of Diana and a potential Wonder Woman movie late into the chapter. Pure speculation and hope but I think this show has immense potential to be great both within and outside of the DCU

My guess for Teen Titans is that it’ll be a mix between the Rebirth and 2000’s teams. So, I think that the roster will probable be: Robin (Damian Wayne), Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark), Aqualad (Kaldur’ahm), Cyborg, Beast Boy, Raven, Impulse, and MAYBE Static. With Nightwing, Donna Troy, and Starfire possibly being in the film as older mentor characters.

I'm honestly only excited for the movies and maybe the Lantern show. I'm so burnt out from all these streaming shows and series that drag on forever and either decrease in quality or were never good to begin with. Movies for me are so good because they have beginning, middle, end, the complete package. I enjoy making the movie theater this once or twice a month treat with the family. I'm also so tired of the meta, the gritty, and the cynical, so the Authority is kinda out for me too. Consider me a cookie cutter casual fan: I'm here for Superman, Batman, and Supergirl. Anything like Swamp Thing will be entirely dependent on those movies doing well.

I've never been a big television/streaming guy, so I don't think I'll ever be invested in that side of DC. With that said, I want to see an outpouring of DC movies, primarily focused on the Super and Bat Families. But if Superman fails, then I'm done with DC; the same ironically goes for the Fantastic Four, where it's going to be my last chance with Marvel.
