He wasn't dissing Em. They spoke about a lot about the passion and content he had put out in his career. . Just that more so nowadays he's flexing his technical skills. But, they didn't put him in the same box as cannabis or king los. He's put his whole life on tracks. He's told his whole story now & when he went more content ish on Revival , people didn't like him speaking politics, well a big percentage didn't.. and with everything being so political nowadays, kind of tough not 2 speak on it. ..(Which is kinda funny now, cause ya still got the Em haters from b4, & then after that BET cypher & Revival, had a bunch of new haters, white Trump supporters.. which is funny af cause those are same mfers who love to talk bout Freedom of Speech... until it's speech you don't like. Idc what peeps say, that was putting his $$ where his mouth was. Wasn't like he gained fans from that, he lost fans who worship a politician.. At 25+ yrs in the game how much more content songs can he drop that he already hasn't put out or even motivational/anthem type songs? He doesn't have anything else to prove. So, me personally, I'd like to see more og collabs. Like the 1 dropping on Nas album that drops Friday with Nas, Em & EPMD. Eric Sermon with Nas & Em. 🔥 . I wanna see those collabs with Rakim, 3 stacks, treach, Monch, LL, hell get a Cube & Kurupt collab. Round out some of my all time fav MCs.

This is how i see it , the so called "lyrical mirical " rappers and the street poets do the same thing but with a different form of speech and within a different context..THEY BOTH GOT BARS Example : King los , Mickey , Daylyt use historical facts , antics with few words that we don't use everyday when we communicate in the hood , add it up with conscious and spiritual stories. That's why they call it "lyrical, mirical ", not everyone will listen to them and understand what they're talking about automatically , but their raps is still full of figurative language , bars , schemes, multi-syllables rhymes , wordplay and punchlines etc.. Lloyd Banks, Jada ,Cassidy, Ransom use street stories, on the block , kidnapping people, with the lingo that we use in the hood everyday that's why niggas it's catchy for us and their raps is also full of multi-syllables rhymes, bars , wordplay, punchlines, figurative language, multi-entendres. So both camps do the same thing , they just do it with a different form of speech and with in a different context (stories). Geeks rappers vs Street poet..

You must not have ever listened to a song from Eminem. For the most part Eminem just doesn't have any bars. He raps about a whole lot of nothing fast as fuck. If he had to be the goat of anything, it would be the rapper who can say nothing the fastest. If he isn't rapping about raping women or something political, it's some other creepy stuff like eating people. Is that the kind of substance you're talking about? It's ironic because Eminem need substances to make decent songs, without them his career just dies off.

My thing is just don't be so lyrical to the point that you're taking away from the main message. If I can't listen to your song one time and take something away from it i.e I received most of what you were trying to tell me, then your song was too out of whack. As a rapper, i can say it's actually easier to make a super lyrical song that is very hard to dissect and understand, than it is to make an equally lyrical song that the average listener could understand. The increase in skill level required comes from having to be direct with your lyrics, and only being allowed to use common concepts and terms rather than obscure shit to fill up your rhymes. Keeping it that simple while still saying mind-blowing shit lyrically is the peak of what rap is all about in my opinion, but everyone can view rap their own way.

The ability to rap is a talent, it's just like anybody can learn the skill of basketball but some people are talented or gifted in basketball. A talent is when you have a natural aptitude or natural skill for something. Some people have a talent for writing so just because anyone can learn how to doing something doesn't mean people can't be talented at it. Nothing in of itself is a talent or skill. Anybody can learn to be skillful but to be talented you have to be born with said talent. Not everybody can be a Langston Hughs, MFDOOM, Prince, etc. To be gifted in something is similar to being talented however being gifted is really in terms of academic things such are the language arts while being talented is in terms of creative things such as creative writing. Gifted also can reference to high levels of potential whereas talented can also refer to current high level of ability. In the art world talent people have what they call an eye for art. They have an ability to see something that others don't when creating art. For speakers it's called the gift of gab and for writers the ability of honeyed words.

The thing about lyrical miracle rap is that it's 'typically' associated with the technical aspect more so than anything else. It's an emphasis on challenging your ability to rhyme words, more so than it is focus on the 'narrative' or 'story-line' of your content. I think it's too vague to say that all lyrical-miracle rappers aren't saying 'anything', but I do agree that because substance isn't primarily the focus of lyrical-miracle rappers, that majority of them who attempt to do that genre, oftentimes come off like they aren't saying anything. Like Eminem now I'd say is lyrical-miracle more than anything. Before, around MMLP and TES, I believe he was the perfect balance of subject matter and technical skill. I also realize that all of this is subjective, and it's difficult to truly argue a point, one way or another. I guess we should just appreciate that hip hop is still celebrated, and available to all walks of life that we can still have these conversations and continue to learn about it, young and old.
