I am glad you said this, I always notice this and it does add a different level to it. I don't think it's a diss at his dad. 8n the song and video he says take out a picture and stare at it, showing a picture of him and his mom. So referencing his m9m not being there consistently and pointing out he didn't have both of his parents growing up. His dad and grandparents were the consistent adults in his life.
@victorias.86144 жыл бұрын
@@shayden2kzz Yes, but you also get the impression from several of his songs that he didn't have the best relationship with his Dad growing up. It seems like he has made things right though now. When this song was written it could have been a jab at his Dad for not being there when he was growing up or a jab at his Mom for giving in to her addiction and leaving him. I honestly, don't know. I am just speculating. I think it is mostly a line that reminds us that either way, he had a rough childhood.

The titles to the songs on the walls like “how could you leave us” is a call back to the song Mansion. He opened the first verse saying “Yo, my mind is a house with walls covered in lyrics, they're all over the place There's songs in the mirrors written all over the floors, all over the chairs”. If you look at this song “How could you leave us” was written on a mirror and “Wake Up” was written on the walls.

NF has a rare talent. His songs create a certain motivational energy that makes you want to get up and flow with him. The only other artist I've seen with this talent in the rap world is Eminem. The ability to produce that motivational energy is what separates good artists from great artists.

@@nejsnek1410 I am aware of that much. I am saying if you take away the producers and everything and just listen to the artist. Artists like Eminem and NF will fall into a very small category. "Two faced, too fake, get outta my face" He rhymes face with face... Thank god he's become way better since then... u have to listen to more n better rappers to understand what good bar heavy lyrics scheme looks like

11:04 THIS!!! I can understand the people who get frustrated when watching a reaction and the reactor pauses just to talk about things that have nothing to do with the lyrics or visuals, and I agree to a point…but it’s their reaction. If you want to just see someone watch or listen to a song and not interrupt it, just go listen to the song by yourself. We share things we love with others to see their reactions. We want to see the shock, the amazement, the sadness, the raw emotions when they hear what we heard. But there are a select few reactors who can deep dive into the lyrics of an artist like NF. I can think of three reactors who can do it to this level here, but I believe Knox is the best. If you see this Knox, just know I appreciate the amount of work you put into your own music and still find the time to share your knowledge and insight with us.
