FYI, after about the 5 minute mark (where the ad came in on the dot actually) isn't the actual song or on the album. Those are just bonus fun, heavy riffs for the live show. Also, "the guy back there" is just a touring musician to take on some key parts and other stuff that Matt can't perform live cause he's busy playing guitar. (in this song, his main role is clearly the arpeggiated keys during the part you called "operatic") Lots of bands do it... he's not in the band, but he's part of the touring line-up.

It was a go-to for me to hype myself up for the live shows I saw them between 2004-2010 (they never came back to NZ since then though... 'tear) - youthful exuberance and high energy and a wall of sound for their heavy songs! Recommended Citizen Erased, Dead Star, Muscle Museum or Micro Cuts for the intensely high falsetto!
@nighpaw46512 жыл бұрын
matt has his guitars built so that if they break the neck breaks and can be replaced easily, he said in an interview the issue was getting someone who enjoyed putting them back together, he also has a ton of guitars and I'm pretty sure he has one guitar for each song on the set plus some backups, usually each song requires different guitars, some need a whammy bar, some need a sustaniac, some need a fuzz factory (yes he has guitars with a built in fuzz factory and with sustainers), some need 7 strings some need a literal midi pad built into the guitar which lets him control midi pedals with his guitar, so usually he can't properly play most songs in the set with just one guitar

Like others mentioned, Matt Bellamy has the record for most smashed guitars during a tour. However, he has explained several times that his guitars are pretty sturdy, and rarely break irreparably. Most of the time, it's just the neck of the guitar that snaps, so it's pretty easy to have them repaired, and he can keep using them for a long time. So, there's no need to feel too bad about the broken guitars.
