It's probably a little uncomfortable, but it's usually easier on them than it is on us mammals that carry one or two much larger babies!

Is there a bearded dragon training school?

We have lots of information on bearded dragons and their care here on our KZbin page and Facebook! If you mean training *for* the bearded dragons themselves - well, we'll get back to you on that. 😅

My beardies been acting weird lately, alot more lazy, digging at the paper towel in her tank and hiding more, so I made a lay box just incase and shes been digging away and made a tunnel... I just peaked and she's out of it.. could she just be digging or is she ready to lay infertile eggs?
@TyeDyedIguana2 жыл бұрын
Some beardies do like to just dig, it gives them a slightly cooler, softer place to rest. That being said, sometimes it takes a few tries if what she's actually trying to do is lay eggs. Occasionally our females need a few chances at the lay bin before they actually give us eggs.

I have a question, my bearded dragon, tank, turned one in April, will I have to looking for eggs soon? I don’t have a male just her, will she lay eggs even at a young age?
@TyeDyedIguana3 жыл бұрын
At a year old, they're mature enough to begin laying eggs. Without a male though, there's no guarantee she'll produce and lay infertile eggs. Some never do.

We didn't have a specific update on that clutch, but we do often have videos frequently showing our babies! Typically we have no issues with incubation and hatching from our most seasoned breeders.

Its eco earth
@TonicTx4 жыл бұрын
It's not the best substrate to use tho
@TyeDyedIguana4 жыл бұрын
We use Eco Earth. It's soft and easy for them to dig in and can be kept slightly damp to keep the eggs hydrated until we are able to pull them and put them into cups for incubation.

@@TyeDyedIguana You use what you have always found to work well. I have red clay mixed with sand and a tropical substrate( yes, picked the moss and charcoal pieces out).

Thank you for this experience. My first female beardie just laid a clutch of 39 eggs. Most likely fertile since she breaded with my male. Very awsome experience. Quick question, after she finished she buried them or tried. Is it OK for her to headbutt the eggs and step on them during the burying phase? It looked to me like she was damaging them but I don't know.
@TyeDyedIguana2 жыл бұрын
Dragons may be a little rough on their eggs sometimes, especially if they're first time moms. It usually isn't an issue.

Do you have to put a heat lamp above the laybox??
@TyeDyedIguana4 жыл бұрын
Because our females are typically only in the lay boxes overnight and our shop is fairly warm, we don't use any extra heating. They do just fine. If your home is chilly and you can't fit a lay box in your enclosure, you could always try keeping them warm with a ceramic heater, a space heater for the room, or a heat mat on a thermostat. That way you aren't bothering them at night with visible light.
