I think the goats and the chickens need more greenhouses for the winter than fences and barns, just imagine if you had several big greenhouses built on the pasture that can house all of them during long cold winter time, and also, I guess you have to give up all the barns on low land, because it doesn't worth the big effort you will put into in the rainy seasons.

@@flick22601 Maybe five times as the wood looks like its being stacked twice. Once on the tractor trailer prior to moving it and then when it's finally stacked in the woodshed. Constructing a simple removable high sided crate for the flat bed trailer would allow the wood to be quickly 'thrown' into it thereby saving all that double stacking time. A crate would also be immeasurably handy for myriad other jobs about the farm.

Goooooood Moring Al , Gina , & Olivia , Nope , beautiful people does not suit you Al . You ARE more of a modernsteader ! I have used a similar method for stretching a chain link fence. Only I used a come along. A chain link fence is heavier material than the lighter fence that you have. Still , the ratchet strap is a good idea. A good idea for a modernsteader. Ha ha , Gina does not look like she is ready to cope with chilly early mornings. I'll bet that when the mornings become really cold that Gina will still be inside wrapped around a cup of hot coffee. lol I know that I will be. My citrus trees came inside last evening. You're already putting your wire on the out side or your posts, but it is always better to put the wire on the side of your posts that will take the animal pressure [goats love to rub against and walk down a fence]. So for your next one put your wire on the inside. I know it is harder to do in a small pen, but always on your field fences do it on the inside.

Something I just learned from watching Blue Cactus Dairy is that you don't want bucks that are breeding sharing a fence line. Especially, if you are worried about making sure that they don't breed the other's does through the fence, which I don't think you are for this season, but it could have genetic repercussions later, if you then breed the offspring. But mainly, it also relieves stress on the bucks, because they're not constantly worried about protecting their females from the other buck. A solid wood fence or wall helps them to not see each other.

this is not a criticism just an experienced based suggestion. You may want to put the fence on the inside of the post. Animals like goats will push against it and it offers more resistance if the fence is on the inside of the post. The animals will not be able to push the fencing loose.

What happened to modern stedders ? The lumnah catch phrase.. Meg is contagious. LOL. I believe your hens aren’t getting enough day light now might want to think about putting some light in their coop they lay best when they have about 14 hours of light. Unless fewer eggs is not an issue to your family. I expect you know that already but a lot of people don’t and can’t figure out why they aren’t getting eggs anymore during the shorter days of winter. Well light is important for egg production.

For the workshop roof, I suggest you use plastic chloroplast but paint it so that it does not collect dust magnetically, so I am suggesting copper as a color. This will reflect the light, look great and function for years. This way you can hit the wall and roof with high-pressure air and clean the whole site walls and all. The copper color will look so cool and it will also add some insulation value as well.

Is the lean to off the barn for Gina's car since the Kubota gets the "port"? ;D I suggest you hang the gate on the right side, not on the post by the shed. The posts aren't braced, the gate will help pull the right side post back toward plumb. Hanging the gate on the shed side post will pull the top away from the shed. Knotted fencing is good, welded is bad, the welds will break. The sprayer also saves the land fill. The birds aren't used to roosting, they'll figure it out quick enough.

I don't know what you plan to do with the black rooster, or even if it would work. Maybe you could let the male breed with the olive egg laying female and maybe you'll get another olive female. Idk if genetics work that way with chickens. I am just saying because I was really upset when that predator took your second olive female. I can't wait to see the eggs though!

Somewhere I heard a quote: My new goal is not to get more done, but to need less to do so I can enjoy more. Maybe grow Microgreens as an income business : broccoli sprouts are amazing for your health, sunflower sprouts are very tasty. Wheatgrass, winter berry wheat seeds are the best throw the rest to your chickens or animals to increase their production. Check out John Kohler for micro sprouts.

You need a board to write all your projects down on.......then you won't forget one. We add just a splash of apple cider vinegar to all our animals water and its very beneficial. We made a stretcher out of 2 2 x 4's and then put bolts in three places. Pretty much what you did but it doesn't pull on the fence anywhere. You guys have really gotten a lot done this year. We love your video's and its always a disappointment when there isn't a new one!! Blessing to you and your family

first sighting of Gina's car in a bit. love the bright yellows and reds of your fall color. egg and milk production are down but pork products will be up soon. don't forget to give the chickens dry minerals also.

For those that don't know; use diagonal bracing on the corner fencing as it actually supports the posts, other methods really lend to no bracing at all. Wow, I haven't been to your channel in a while, its grown/the channel and your farm!

Why don’t you breed the pigs ? You like to do the pigs every year Anyway just makes sense instead of buying new ones you just do a breeding program. And then you make money off of selling babies you don’t need.

Moose is beautiful with all those colors so is the other guy they look almost alike but Moose is smaller I think that's why I like him better I've always been a fan of the smaller animals, my husband got us a runt pup but when the guy who gave him to us seen him he said he was taller and heavier than his siblings! But we've got 2 dogs a beagle who is middle age but has some issues with his hips he was like that when we got him off the streets we named him Red Crook(Red) because he stole our hearts and he was stealing from trash cans for over a month and a pitbull pup he's about 2 years old his name is Maximus (Max or Maxi )he almost got put in a shelter and he would've been dead in 30 days cause we don't have no kill shelters where we live and since we've saved him he's started helping with my seizures and we're having to move to an apartment and only Max will be able to go with us cause he helps with my seizures even though he's not a certified service dog it's just something that comes natural to him!

I made a scoop like yours when I figured out what it was. It's food safe because it was a milk gallon jug. That is cool that you made that. I don't know why it took so long to notice. It works great and the handle is better than the scoops you can buy. It is very comfortable in my hand.

Not true about not being able to stretch welded wire. I have done it many times. Also the trick of weaving a board through the fencing and then stretching it (I've always hooked it to the tractor) is an old one. Great job on the fence!
