I've watched more than 12 or 15 or so of these videos you guys the first ones to actually do engine support
@RatchetWrenches4 жыл бұрын
Really? Well it’s definitely an important step. When you take the motor mounts out you take all the support of the engine away and it’s putting all the strain and tension on the connecting point where the trans and engine meet. But also you can put a jack stand or jack under the engine, but it makes it hard to remove the k member when you have that in your way

@@tonymontana4349 yeah I mean what you’re saying makes sense but they truly do come that way from the supplier and I’m sure they engineered it that way and somehow accounted for how that bend would disrupt the exhaust flow and possibly damage the head etc. we’re not engineers so we’re not sure exactly but the fact that they’re a very reputable company and have been producing this kit for a while I’m sure it’s “safe” for the head

Thanks so much! We’re glad we can be of assistance. I forget if we mentioned it in the video it’s been so long but you cannot run the stock oil dip stick with the long tube headers. its cool but without forced injection of some sort its not doing much but when turbo goes on it will then boosted stock will last 6 months maybe time foR MMR block and guts

Yeah we’ll see how it holds up on the stock block for the meantime

Bad idea using bbk header gaskets They leak had that problem when i had my 2001 GT And had bbk longtubes installed
@RatchetWrenches5 жыл бұрын
I have heard not to use them as well but I’ve had no issues been running them for 5 months or so.

Those headers bolts Break easy don't recommend using power tools there is a video from cj pony parts used the same oil dip stick . But these guys say it won't fit
@RatchetWrenches3 жыл бұрын
Yeah you definitely have to be careful whatever way you remove them. None of ours broke. Did CJ Pony parts install the shorty headers or long tubes? We needed to order a flexible dip stick since it literally runs straight up into the headers..
@sergiodoordie3193 жыл бұрын
@@RatchetWrenches u were right bro the stock one doesn't fit a flexible deep stick will do it . I don't know why bill did not mentionedit on his video but I could be wrong anyhow I hope the bbk gaskets won't leak i don't drive the car that much only weekends I think. I'm going for the bbk h catted pipe this time i had the bassani off road x pipe on the car but it was way too loud . I also found a leak on the oil filter housing gasket this is a common problem on the 99/2004 mustang gt . Thanks again for inspiring me to do this job myself
@RatchetWrenches3 жыл бұрын
@@sergiodoordie319 I forget where I read / heard you need the flex stick but I vividly remember haha. The gaskets should be fine if you don’t drive it often I have heard some people don’t like them/ they leak. I’ve heard the h pipes sound good you gotta let us know if it’s better or not. You’re welcome that’s why we’re here! It’s not the easiest job but it’s definitely possible in a garage without a lift

Great video, but after about 5 minutes in I realized it’s better to pay a few extra bucks and have a shop do it😁

Thanks! Hahah depending on the shop it might be more then "a few extra bucks" but if you have the money go for it!

I feel like removing the whole tranny and motor easier/ better for maintenance
@RatchetWrenches2 жыл бұрын
It might be yeah but a lot more work, time and tools. They way we did it all you need is the support bar to hold the engine. All depends on your build and goals
@MillennialDad92 Жыл бұрын
I’m guessing you just deleted the oil dip stick? Lol
@RatchetWrenches Жыл бұрын
Nope OEM dipstick or aftermarket will work
@MillennialDad92 Жыл бұрын
@@RatchetWrenches I didn’t see it in the engine bay after you finished the install so I was curious. When you installed the 0n3 kit we’re you able to get a start up tune anywhere so that you could drive to a dyno or how did you go about tuning it? I’m considering the same kit for my cobra but tuning is what I’m most worried about.

Thanks that means a lot! They are awesome cars and so customizable. Take good care of it they are respected for sure! And supercharger / turbo is what I’m deciding between at the moment.

Can’t use the stock one with these headers unfortunately. You have to get an aftermarket one that has a different bend. So in the meantime we said fuck it. It’s a weekend car. Don’t really drive it that much
