Anne Retsil yessss like man I have such a love for the aesthetics of the ‘50s because of ‘Carol’. It’s such a visually stunning movie. Even the fact that it’s shot on super 16mm film enhances the feeling of authenticity in the time period it’s set in! One of my favourite things about it is that it has this sort of gritty realism to it. Like of course it’s art and it’s beautiful but it feels like it could have been made during the time it’s set because they have such a dedication to being authentic to the time period.
