Their mascara, perfume, and liquid highlighters are brilliant tho. The three step routine destroyed my skin in particular the astringent toner. Clarins is good but the inkey list is the one I’ve had the best results from. Plus you can get like four five products from inkey for the same price as one item from clarins. Also I wonder do we end up paying more for products from counters as they have to pay their own staff and I imagine pay rent to boots or wherever for the counters?

Thank you so much for your explanation about CeraVe because as someone who has super acne prone skin, my experience is the same: people bombard me with “try CeraVe! It’ll work for you! It’s dermatologist recommended!” And they’re right, CeraVe is a great brand, the ingredients are great, and it helps a lot of people, but not everyone because it broke me out into the WORST cystic acne I’ve ever had since I hit puberty 10 years ago. And I’m not the only one who’s had that experience 🤷🏽‍♀️ So it’s like ya, we get it, it’s a great brand. But it’s not for everyone. So lay off and let us find what works for us, even if contains fragrance and isn’t recommend by KZbin dermatologists 🥴

I'm a year late to this but I thought I was the only one with this experience! I've never had acne in my life but as soon as I started using a CeraVe cleanser I go these horrible painful lumps all over my chin/jaw/forehead/nose. I spent so long trying to figure out what was happening because everybody is so all over CeraVe being the "perfect" skincare for everyone that I thought surely not, but the only time it went away was when I accidentally left it behind at my friends place and started using my tiny bit of remaining Rosen cleanser I had tucked away. Needless to say I didn't bother getting it back.

@@jela9706 - I don't really have a set routine and just go with what my skin is telling me at the time, but I do use them at the same time, pretty much daily. The PC Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser just makes my skin so smooth, bright, and and clean with absolutely no stripping or drying, and I usually follow that with an assortment of Inkey List acids and K-Beauty serums/ampoules, and alternate between moisturizers from both sources. Basically, I use PC to prep, exfoliate, and balance my skin, while the others I use to target specific issues, if that makes any sense.

I just think of it as I’m watching a video where he’s holding up the product and then it’s gone. If I really want to know, I’m going to have to rewind through the video. Because I certainly can’t see what’s on the chart. But it is what it is, a fad that has spread around KZbin.

I have a soft spot for The Ordinary because the products are affordable and hit my personal needs - cruelty-free, vegan, lack of fragrance. I've had financial issues the past couple of years, so The Ordinary is a way I can have "nice" (i.e., effective) skincare without breaking the bank. Clinique lover here 👋🏼! I don’t think just cause a line/product has been out for a long time it’s “outdated”. I think they were definitely one of the most innovative brands ever with being 100% allergy tested. I don’t know any brand that does that and is so safe for my super sensitive skin! It’s kind of that old saying if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. These other trendy brands don’t research new formulas or create NEW ingredients they just use whatever buzzword ingredients people seem to be obsessed with at any given time. How is that innovative?

Yes, I did a double take when you said Curology was for the young but then I thought about it and could see how you could get that. For me, all I've ever heard about it is from women who are a little older who use it for wrinkle defense. But then again I'm 52 and in the States so it makes sense why I would get that impression and you would get another at your age and in the UK (so not able to use the service, as far as I know). I never really fell into the "natural is better" mindset, I actually kinda fell into the "yeah, SCIENCE!" camp which can be equally problematic (people need to stop citing "research" as if all studies are created equal and one single study is enough to draw conclusions). It never really made sense to me that natural products were inherently better, because natural things can be really dangerous. Millions of years of evolution haven't driven plants to becoming the perfect natural solutions for our skin, it's largely given plants mechanics that deter animals and other plants from fucking with them, e.g. poison ivy. Anything helpful that we may stumble upon, such as certain seed and fruit oils which are really nourishing for the skin, are pleasant coincidences, they're not there because nature is our friend.
@valentinafangirling

I think some people do tend to think those who only want natural products do so for thinking “natural is better” when at least most i have known (including me) seek those products more bc of the cruelty free side of it rather than what’s better. I know some brands that are soooo good for the skin but for my personal beliefs on animal testing i would never give my money to those brands.

Clinique was the first brand that gave me any kind of results.... there moisture surge line is AMAZING, and there MD line is insane.... the products really are solid.... and reasonably priced.... I've agreed with almost everything you have said, but the Clinique part confused me a little.... maybe it's because your haven't gotten to the stage of having damaged and aging skin.... and I pray you never do!! Love you darling!! Have an absolute amazing day!!!! Omgoodness PLEASE do the K beauty rankings!! Oh and before I forget I absolutely agree with the cerave review as well. Though I will say, I'd much rather use cerave than Cetaphil.... there isn't a SINGLE product from Cetaphil that doesn't completely strip and dry mt skin. It's so annoying, because it's the ONLY thing they offer alot of time in hospitals here in America!!!! LOL, THAT AND AVEENO! Ok shutting up now!! Love your content!! 😋😁🥰💖

Girl, don't take everything these influencers say to be the golden standard. It's just his opinion, and honestly I feel like everyone has something against them for the fact that they usually have fragrance but fragrance doesn't bother me one bit personally. If it works for you, then that's what you need to keep using! I love the clinique products I have, and honestly If something is working for me, I don't care what the youtubers think. Just like using skin care with honey isn't recommended by a lot of YT'rs, but it sure helps my skin! More power to you!!

And also wanted to offer an explanation for his experience with the brand. He and Robert are just now getting to an age where their skin will start to change.... so I was trying to say, don't write them off completely trust and believe the day will come when essences, and serums, just won't be enough. Not to mention they genuinely have some of the most reasonable prices among the prestige brands. But before I start repeating stuff, lol, ill close this!! Thanks again for lookin out!! I think people forget their demographic is largely those with irritable/problematic skin and their formulations represent that. As long as you skip over their basic lines, they have some amazing stuff. I do stray from moisture surge, but I always end up going back. I feel like their new releases aren't flashy enough for most people. They may not be trendsetters, but they mostly avoid the gimmick of the trendy brands. For the most part, they have solid products at a reasonable price point.
