And I’m not the only one who’s had that experience 🤷🏽♀️ So it’s like ya, we get it, it’s a great brand. But it’s not for everyone. I never really fell into the "natural is better" mindset, I actually kinda fell into the "yeah, SCIENCE!" camp which can be equally problematic (people need to stop citing "research" as if all studies are created equal and one single study is enough to draw conclusions). It never really made sense to me that natural products were inherently better, because natural things can be really dangerous. Millions of years of evolution haven't driven plants to becoming the perfect natural solutions for our skin, it's largely given plants mechanics that deter animals and other plants from fucking with them, e.g. poison ivy. Anything helpful that we may stumble upon, such as certain seed and fruit oils which are really nourishing for the skin, are pleasant coincidences, they're not there because nature is our friend.
@valentinafangirling3 жыл бұрын
I think some people do tend to think those who only want natural products do so for thinking “natural is better” when at least most i have known (including me) seek those products more bc of the cruelty free side of it rather than what’s better. I know some brands that are soooo good for the skin but for my personal beliefs on animal testing i would never give my money to those brands.

Omgoodness James, seriously hun, im not sure when you last used clinique, but as a 40 year old women with a lot of scaring and a history of smoking, as well as being in recovery, I have also been fighting Lupus for 27 years now (it too effects my skin).... so to say the least my skins been through hell. Clinique was the first brand that gave me any kind of results.... there moisture surge line is AMAZING, and there MD line is insane.... the products really are solid.... and reasonably priced.... I've agreed with almost everything you have said, but the Clinique part confused me a little.... maybe it's because your haven't gotten to the stage of having damaged and aging skin.... and I pray you never do!! Love you darling!! Have an absolute amazing day!!!! Omgoodness PLEASE do the K beauty rankings!! Oh and before I forget I absolutely agree with the cerave review as well. Though I will say, I'd much rather use cerave than Cetaphil.... there isn't a SINGLE product from Cetaphil that doesn't completely strip and dry mt skin. It's so annoying, because it's the ONLY thing they offer alot of time in hospitals here in America!!!! LOL, THAT AND AVEENO! Ok shutting up now!! Love your content!! 😋😁🥰💖

Girl, don't take everything these influencers say to be the golden standard. It's just his opinion, and honestly I feel like everyone has something against them for the fact that they usually have fragrance but fragrance doesn't bother me one bit personally. If it works for you, then that's what you need to keep using! I love the clinique products I have, and honestly If something is working for me, I don't care what the youtubers think. Just like using skin care with honey isn't recommended by a lot of YT'rs, but it sure helps my skin! More power to you!!
@SomeWhereInTheMiddleGenX3 жыл бұрын
@@JamieNotLamie Awww!! Thank you!! I will listen to there opinions, but it doesn't influence whether I like a product or not. I've been in and around the beauty world for over 20 years.... EVERYONE has an opinion lol, I was just commenting because there are alot of people who WILL take an influencers word as golden, and I was just afraid it would keep people from trying or taking clinique skincare as a joke, and that's just not the case. And also wanted to offer an explanation for his experience with the brand. He and Robert are just now getting to an age where their skin will start to change.... so I was trying to say, don't write them off completely trust and believe the day will come when essences, and serums, just won't be enough. Not to mention they genuinely have some of the most reasonable prices among the prestige brands. But before I start repeating stuff, lol, ill close this!! Thanks again for lookin out!! I hope your having an AMAZING day!! Take care of yourself darlin!! 😊😁🥰💖

Isn't Clinique's entire line fragrance-free though? I feel like they're kind of under-rated. Yes their products are pretty basic, but so is Cerave, you know?

I think people forget their demographic is largely those with irritable/problematic skin and their formulations represent that. As long as you skip over their basic lines, they have some amazing stuff. I do stray from moisture surge, but I always end up going back. I feel like their new releases aren't flashy enough for most people. They may not be trendsetters, but they mostly avoid the gimmick of the trendy brands. For the most part, they have solid products at a reasonable price point.

Clinique seems like rubbing straight alcohol on your face. So drying.
@Beaumiroir3 жыл бұрын
@@stefaniem7856 that's true of ONE of their products: the clarifying toner in their 3-step line. That entire line is very dated and I definitely wouldn't use it. They do have pretty decent products they have launched more recently though. Their Moisture Surge line is quite good and very hydrating.

It's pretty much the only thing my skin seems to like so far. BUT they sell in mainland China, like L'Oréal, which means they test on animals.
