I just started using a cat multi vitamin in my cats food. I haven’t completely switched kitty to a raw diet, and I probably won’t for little while. I am currently weening him off of kibble. He’s a young cat that I just got him from a friend last week. He ate his first meal this morning that wasn’t all from a can. I added a little kibble to his mildly cooked food just for flavor, as well as a tiny bit of leftover can food. I also made him some homemade kibble treats so he gets used to the switch easier. He was super energetic today, and very happy. I also added some fish into the recipe along with ground chicken thighs, gizzards, and liver. He ate the entire plate. I couldn’t get hearts yesterday. I am planning on adding those as well. Thank you for your videos they are very helpful!

Thank you for doing all of this research, you have no idea how many people probably look to you for reliable advice! We've been making my cat the raw diet for a couple months now but I still wasn't too confident on what the heck gizzards were. I only can get the giblet packs at Piggly Wiggly here in the Wisconsin area. No other grocery store or butcher can order hearts and liver for me, so that grocery store chain for me is a godsend

I've been using dry cat food (Princess Cat) almost the entire time. And just the other day, I was informed that it is somehow been related to cause UTI. I feel guilty and vouch to do better this time. Luckily for me, chicken glizzard, liver and hearts are very cheap in my country. Thank you for this informative video! Love the tip on the requesting of the chicken hearts at the grocery/ market. I am aware that this may not be available, you can however go to a local butcher. Some even make dog / pet food (some only offer organ meat along with bones and or bone powder but may do custom orders). Also, gizzards are a great source of iron, B-12 and zinc.

It's a lot easier to feed your pets raw meat now than it was thirty-odd years ago. Back in the '80s my mother fed her pedigreed Abyssinian show cats raw meat until one of them had an allergic reaction to residue from antibiotics used on the farm where the meat was produced. These days at least chicken is labeled antibiotic-free.

I breed rabbits and use them for human and cat food. The organs I feed my cats are liver (after removing the gallbladder) pancreas, kidneys, heart, lungs, thyroid gland, brain, and eyes. The only internal organs I don't use are the digestive tract and reproductive system.

Great information! Curious if I can just use chicken necks for bone meat, gizzards for muscle meat, liver for organ meat, and heart for taurine. I'll add fish oil, Lysine, and taurine supplement to it. Replacing gizzards with chicken breasts or thighs will bring down the cost for me. Want to know if it is a viable option. i purchased a pack of gizzards from my supermarket for my cats to chew on and help clean there teeth are they safe to give to them out of the packet? or do i need to wash them? im concerned about salmonella

Hi Jasmine, I am very disappointed with the are I lived. I was looking in so many supermarkets for chicken hearts and livers. I finally fond livers, but no hearts at all. The organic chicken pieces do not include any organs. Please could you tell me how much of the cocktail of gizzards should I put in the recipe? For now I will have to be without the heart, that means I have to add more of the supplement. How much if no hearts? Gee, I wished you could respond.

I think two of them will be easier to transition because they at least eat wet food, the other will be the challenge since she doesn't eat wet food at all. So, purchased my first chicken hearts today, they are mixed with gizzards. There was only 5 hearts and mostly gizzards. Three of the gizzards had a tuff yellow layer on one side of it... have you ever had gizzards like that?

Hi! I have a video coming out within the next couple of days explaining a more accurate way to calculate proper taurine since the heart/gizzard ratio is rarely 50/50 in those tandem packs :) as for the yellow layer, likely fat that the production facility machinery failed to remove. Thank you for this video, I was wondering about this a few days ago. I’ve been using your recipe for a few months now and it’s been great however I am wondering why the liver percentage is a bit higher than 5%? I’ve heard that it should be 5% liver max and 5% other excreting organs. Have you used any other organs in your cat food?

If all you can find is liver, feel free to use liver for all 10% if you're able to source other organs then go ahead and do 5% liver and 5% other secreting organ. Happy batch making!

Hey how often do you deworm your cats? Also I have a problem with my cat's eyes getting fully dilated and then he starts bumping into things he can be that way up to 3 days have you ever heard of this? I took him to six different doctors 20 different doctor trips and nobody can figure it out and all his blood work is perfect they say 🤷... It's absolutely heartbreaking and stressful everyday and I just feel so helpless cuz it's a mystery just wondering if you have any ideas. Thank you for the videos

@@boredom4me877 well thank you for asking ! Everybody that I took him to (all the doctors I mean ) all agreed that he had back problems and they had put him on CBD oil for the pain . So I thought I wonder if there's a pinched nerve back they're going to his optical to where he can't see so I wondered if doubling the CBD oil because he's a big cat they didn't have them on much would do the trick and I tell you what ever since I doubled his cbd.oil it's never happened again! But yes thank goodness it worked. I made sure if I double the dosage that it would be okay and all the doctors told me yes you cannot overdose on CBD oil🤷‍♀️

It *isn't* pronounced (hard "g") "gib-lets". It's pronounced "jib-lets". It is a soft "g" due to the "i".
