Apparently this was the result of ongoing issues with Tony Schiavone. From here on Heenan commentated on Thunder until being replaced by Stevie Ray around July and from then on he was he was relegated to Worldwide until his eventual release in November.

I am actually super stoked to hear about that Bam Bam/Funk match. I am shocked I hadn't heard of it before. I've followed a lot of both of their careers, so it is like legends clashing. It might not have made for the most technically impressive match, but it's styles that mesh really well together considering their history, especially when you look at their mutual contributions to that style of wrestling over the years. It's got some of that WCW jank, but I am just glad it happened at all. To a different audience that's a main event match on its own. Or maybe I am just biased. I am so glad you are doing this channel. It might be job for you, but it's bringing me so much joy.

@@Suchega_Uber Can you imagine if that match took place 10 years earlier? Bam Bam in his physical prime and the Funker still in good shape?
@Suchega_UberАй бұрын
@@zlinedavid Bam Bam had only been wrestling for 3 to 4 years at that point and Terry was doing alright for himself, but he was a down south champion, not nearly as well known as he was here. Their names alone were enough of a draw.

1. Anyone else believe that it was worth it having David Flair on TV just so they can have more of Daffney getting screen time? Good lord, she was goth attractive, and looked like she had a ton of fun out there doing her schtick. Sad knowing what happened to her, especially after seeing the kind of talent she had and what she was willing to put up with and do, and what kind of work she was willing to put in. I definitely decided to accept having Dave on TV as long as he brought Daffney with him. 2. Umm, WB...Rikishi did it...for the Rock! 3. Big Ai....leading to one of the more controversial segments in WCW history in a few weeks. Which would be one of...MANY! And David Arquette. Didn't he not have one HELL of a story to tell about all that? 4. Do you realize that we now have most of the Ruthless Aggression Era players in one of the two companies already on TV in some way? You have Shannon Moore in 3 Count who will become Matt Hardy's lackey, Triple H already begun his Reign of Terror before we see it, Booker T has his major singles run in some infancy, we're a few months away from two VERY well known female talents debuting that would shape the Women's division on WWE, Stacy Keibler, Edge (pre Rated R), the Dudleys, one of the three FBI members in The Bull. We'll get The Undertaker back soon enough, and before the year is up, two names VERY synonymous with the RA era begin their OVW runs. Interesting to see how the RA Era's foundations were already being put in place around this time, especially as we move along in the year 2000.
