We have had 8 TITLE CHANGES (Including Vacancies) for WCW in the month of January. Thats already more than WWF will have all year in 2000 and WCW isnt even close to being done with the title changes Bret Hart to Vacant to Chris Benoit to vacant to Sid to Vacant to Nash to Sid. All i can say is congrats to Vacant on being a multi time WCW champion

As well as a huge blow to WCW, tonight was the beginning of the end for a lot of people who’d been prominent on WWF TV in 1999. D’Lo, Gangrel, Bossman, Headbangers and many others were all but done as even midcarders when the Radicalz rocked up

@Somedudethatlikeswrestling 2 ай бұрын
Godfather (and Val) managed to hang on a bit longer (both got title runs and RTC gave them a prominent TV spot for a few months) but by 2001 the downward spiral was in force (Got on Mania X7 though) D'Lo, Bossman, one of the Headbangers and Viscera get a couple more PPV gigs then are gone by early 2001. All came back at some point but only Vis had a "decent" run Gangrel, the Posse, the other Headbanger (Thrasher?) Mideon and poor old Davey Boy had even less success before vanishing. There's a few people who manage to survive dropping down the card for a bit (Mark Henry and Bob Holly) but the Radicalz arrival (with the rise of Kurt, Jericho, Rikishi) was the death knell for the old guard of the attitude era. The WCW and ECW talent coming in was the final nail.
@TheRealAhoy
@TheRealAhoy 2 ай бұрын
@@Somedudethatlikeswrestling 2000 really had such an influx of fresh talent who got over right away. People never mention Rikishi, but he probably had the biggest 2000 from a career perspective, Angle had a great one but Kishi is the one guy you could look at and say without a doubt 2000 was the best year of his entire career. Regal comes in later in the year and also gets off to a great start, Stone Cold stuns him so much he gets over by association, like Jarrett did in 99.

Even though Stinko Malenko and Saturn ultimately didn't do all that much, losing the Radicalz was a massive loss for WCW and big gain for the Federation. WCW at this point had no juice or buzz and was just known as a complete mess while the WWF was gearing up for Mania.

I see some people showing love for Eddie which I wholeheartedly agree with, but I would also like to say Rest In Peace Bobby Heenan. I am not going to pretend like he gets overlooked, but he really was one of the best talkers. Guy was hilarious. He always had some zingers in his back pocket, but he was quick, witty, and creative too. It was heartbreaking seeing him in his advanced years, but I am glad he is no longer in pain. I am glad he got to live a long life. That's not a sure thing for folks in this business. Thanks Brain and Gorilla for the insight and the laughs, and another thank you to you for putting this all together and letting us all relive this with you.

Bobby Heenan was actually sick. This is something he addressed in both his book (which you reviewed for WCW Blunder), and in various shoot interviews. He had called in with strep throat. And this is when WCW signed Mark Madden and put him on Nitro, while relegating Bobby to WCW Worldwide. Which has to be one of the worst switches in commentators of all time. I wish that Bobby had been part of the WCW Invasion, as WCW's colour commentator alongside either Mike Tenay or Scott Hudson.

Every week brings us closer to the point when Nitro can no longer mathematically overtake Raw. Excellent stuff.

More like slingshot 450 leg drop. He didn't just slingshot into the ring. He flipped after the slingshot.

I remember this episode very well. The ApA was awsome. I always loved thier protection gimmick. I doubt any other two superstars could of done this but Farook and Bradshaw This also the era WWE made tag tems cool again. The hardys, dudlyes, and edge and christian were must see TV every week. Those guys were crazy and we all loved every minute

Nice to see Ric Flair back. I wonder if Scott Steiner is also happy about it. Maybe he can cut a promo next week
