At the start, I thought the “optical button sensing thingy” would be just for media, but when they said stuff about the denounce delay, and knowing how it works, I suddenly thought that it was super intelligent. Generally, due to debounce on a lot of switches, we lose around 20-40, sometimes even 50ms, just so the digital signal is registered as a click, really amazing engineering there

Use a mouse wire boom to avoid fraying. Fraying happens when it's constantly catching the edge of a solid mousepad, or the edge of a table. A mouse boom avoids this, and also reduces drag from the cable.

To get rid of the fraying, very *LIGHTLY* pass the cable over a flame. The stray hairs will super heat quickly and burn up, leaving the main cable unscathed (more mass = takes longer to heat).

Bought and returned two of these within the same day. Both had a loose and rattling left click which had some weird pre-travel and moved from side to side. When I went to return the second one I told them I'd rather get something else and I got a Logitech G Pro. This is my second of those as well but this newer one hasn't got the braided cable anymore and I actually like this even more than my old one.

About the durability of Razer mice: I have a Razer Copperhead mouse from 2005 which I still use on an iMac for gaming and use it on the Windows partition of that iMac when I again game. I've had zero problems so far with the durability. It just won't fall apart. I'm not even sure if there are any unofficial drivers for it for Wİn10 but I know that there is no official driver support around. I can't change DPIs or program the buttons like I used to but I really don't care at this point and it is very comfortable to use and no fraying cable whatsoever

Had this mouse for about 5 months, it has held well. And yeah the most noticable thing about the mouse is weight. It feels kinda cheap due to its weight, but it has held strong. The side buttons took a little getting used to- they were stiff but I no longer notice it. Now, the reason why I would recommend this mouse is RSI. I previously used a Deathadder and it caused me pain on my hand and wrist not to mention umbearable arm fatigue. It was so bad that I almost quit gaming (I play mostly fast paced RTS games). Well after using this mouse my RSI symptoms have completely disappeared. I can game for hours on end and the symptoms do not reoccur. This alone is why I would recommend the mouse. Would have paid 300 bucks for the mouse

Just FYI, I have Deathadder elite since 2017 and I can tell you my cable looks still brand new. While all of my other braided cable fraying after few years. And the cable is so soft(don't know the word) it feels like wireless, the cable doesn't get in the way when you move your mouse.

What's funny though, is that i have recently come back to gaming from not playing for the last 10 years. I have noticed a lot of "gamer branded" hardware that did not exist before, and i have to say, after trying SEVERAL gaming mice, the mouse i enjoy the most is still microsofts intellimouse. It was best 10 years ago, and after my tastes, it's still the best. Perfect ergonomic fit for my hands, perfect weight, perfect feel in the buttons. I wore out 2 of them 10 years ago, and i recently bought an intellimouse pro. Much of this gamer-centric marketed hardware is quite expensive, just because it's gamer-branded.

I think the cable is mainly to reduce drag on soft surface fabric mousepads. So you can use without a bungee and not be affected that much.

The WMO weights about 63gr and many people still use it (overclocked, the one with the MLT04 sensor) today, so I don't think that the weight says a lot about the durability. Some producers even plainly add weight to their mice to make them feel more durable (e.g. the logitech G100s)... It's nice to see that some manufactors try to reduce the weight of gaming mice but maybe you should mention finalmouse and their 'ultralight', because afaik they're trying to produce lightweight mice since day one.

A "smoother" braided cable may mean that it'll be a lot less prone to fraying because of less friction to begin with? I think that's the main purpose; not necessarily a noticeable improvement in "in-game" performance due to less cable drag.

Dear Dave, I used a few Razer prods. Question for you, how long should a gaming mouse last? Before the top coating starts desolving? Razer just blew me off by telling it is older than a year (16 months) so no guarantee... I also use a Gigabyte MX6980, it is still alive after 4 years.

I have the exact same Kinzu V2 mouse as my daily driver since 2012 (or 2013 ?) and I have not noticed such degradation on the cable. It's been to 3 different countries, been in and out of my backpack on a daily basis for the last two years...I just had to open it up once to clean up the wheel that had started to behave erratically last year but since that it still looks and performs like day one.

the latency test could not be affected by the speed of the internet because its JavaScript code that's already been downloaded beforehand .. i believe you could completely disable your connection and it would still work

Dave, the little hair on the mouse cable is because of the velcro strap. If you burn with a lighter the will go away, just be carefull.
