Youre plane is a blast!! I have the Seagull Zlin Z-50 1,7m, 30cc, 5kg. It had the original aluminum landing gear but was very rigid now I've mounted a carbon one but it's about the same. Both are rigid, although the wheels are soft air filled. I don't know if this has to do with the fact that it always jumps after contact at landing. Not like my other taildraggers. I've read a lot about taildraggers but don't know how to solve the zlin's jump on contact problem. I've broke props and even the landing gear structure plate twice because of that. No mather how I bring it to land, for example I've read that it likes speed and stalls easily but even like this it bounces like crazy and not once but in series and the bounces grow in intensity with each one. I wonder if a more flexible landing gearwould be my fix. Maybe the gear is to rigid. But don't know what to chose, thick aluminum and carbon are rigid. I've tried even to rise the tail by making a longer tailwheel arm so that after contact the tail won't be able to drop that much, increase the wing angle of attach therefore increase the lift and jump. But it has the tendancy to nose drop on ground taxi because of the high tail attitude. The only thing that comes to my mind to try is, before landing to bring at neutral stick 1-2 clicks of down elevator trim so that after slight pull untill first contact, to release it to neutral, which will be slightly nose down attitude trim so that the wheels will be pushed on the ground. But I'm not sure. Any advices are welcome because I'm afraid to fly it if I can only rely on luck and not a techinque.
