THE most slept on vocalist in terms of versatility. People really missed that she was an actual singer and possessed range, agility and skill. Don’t get it twisted, she did airy, light, sultry pop for radio, but for someone who was mainly age 17-20 in the performances you watched, I can’t even begin to begin to fathom the type of live performances she would have given us if she was still here. What a truly unfathomable loss.

YASSSSSS! Finally Aaliyah being recognized as a vocalist and powerhouse! She was really eating the girls up but doesn’t get her credit. She was really the best mix of her peers; sing low like Bran, can belt with Mo, riff/run with them plus Mya and none of them could see her in transitions + HV/Falsetto/Whistle Register. Aaliyah has so many hidden full voice, head voice and whistle notes hidden in harmonies that ppl don’t even know about. This girl was belting out Whitney’s Greatest Love of All and apparently Vision Of Love for her demos to get signed, ppl need to stop sleeping in the good sis.

Aaliyah is wildly underrated as a vocalist! If ppl actually go back and watch these performances, they could see Aaliyah actually had a very powerful voice, and she knew how to use it. She just chose not to showcase it too much. I hate when people try to classify her as a “whisper singer” because she clearly wasn’t...

Yes and what’s crazy is I was one of those people who thought that she had a super soft voice and under rated her. After watching this, I realized how wrong I was. She is the powerhouse vocalist that I constantly talk about!

@@AlexisSamone she said in an interview before she passed that when she was younger during her first 2 albums she was nervous about doing more songs with more vocal “power” with her first albums because her vocals was still maturing. She said with her self titled album and albums to come (sadly didn’t get future albums) that she felt she was ready to do more songs like that and show people that she can sing but still keep her same vibe.
@LifeFilmz3 жыл бұрын
Cause she was definitely really young at the time which is so unbelievable I usually think she was much older when I listen to her sing 😂 She was 13/14 when her debut album was recorded and 16 when one in a million was recorded. Then she took a 5 year hiatus for personal reasons and for filming a movie

Thanks for reacting to my video finally some people recognising Aaliyah's talent. Very few singers can do those transitions as quickly and crisply as her. Aaliyah wanted to differentiate herself from the pack but if she wanted she could run ,riff and belt like everyone else.

She is an amazing soprano singer. Her falsetto is so good . I would say she’s a B+ singer... which is good cuz A+ singers are just Whitney and Mariah Carey and anita baker and the patti labelle’s
@violetsrayreikishop22 жыл бұрын
Aaliyah definitely was a B it's just most the music she made wasn't to belt out notes like that it was just more hip hop and R&B had she been given more songs that showcase just how rich and powerful her voice is people would be shocked, Aaliyah has an angelic voice.

Aaliyah chose not to use her full voice because she wanted to be different and standout from other singers. I feel like Aaliyah could have done Broadway and some classical stuff like when Aretha Franklin stepped in for Pavarotti. She was very versatile and had range. Her falsetto was and still is unmatched. If she was still here, she would have definitely showcase her voice more.

Ugh I love this! Aaliyah had sooo much more to give us. So many different layers to her voice that she never even flexed. I just know had she gotten older the richness of her voice was just going to come out more. When she used her full voice, mannnn! She had a superb falsetto and such a rich bottom tone. Man. Such talent.

Aaliyah has so much colors to her voice. Her bottom range is so deep and rich yet has a heavenly falsetto and literally riffs all up through her head voice. And has enough power to belt if she wanted. 😍

Can we talk about how Aaliyiah still looks of today. Meaning she does not look dated at all she could easily fit into 2020s. I think the reason why is because she kept her overall Aesthetic simple and natural makeup and simple hairstyles she reminds me of Sade Adu. Fun fact they share the same birthday birthday and Aaliyiah said she was her favorite singer/Entertainer.
