Inviting a brazilian to make this test was a great idea, since our population is so ethnically mixed that a great part of us can't even have much certain about where it is from. We have imprecise ideas, like maybe 95% of us are descendant from the portuguese, african and indigenous (which makes weird that the brazilian guy got impressed for his 6% african heritage: almost all of us is), but these are, in almost all cases, imprecise ideas...

I think MyAncestry has some problems with it's results since it seems to give everyone a couple of percentages Finnish. I think the "Finnish" that Chandler has is more likely Yakut DNA. I'm basing this on the fact that he also seems to have a lot of Mongolian ancestry, so it isn't too far-fetched considering that Yakuts live quite close to Mongols and Buryats. Finns and Yakuts both carry Y-DNA haplogrou N1c-m46, about 75% of Yakut males have it and so do 60% of Finnish men.

NO* born N*, N1* and N1A-N1B- are all gathered in Southwest China, O3 is China's dominant paternal line, O1 China southeast, O2 in Southeast Asia - Japan - Korea. The youngest offspring N1C migrated to Siberia and fused in the YDN-C's wife MTDN-CDG in the central and Siberia Mongols, but most of the N1c gathered in the northern region of Siberia. Mongols YDNA-C is in the middle of Siberia. Before migrating, a N1C was migrated from Northeast China and separated from Siberia N1C. This has been moving westward to N1C to northeast Europe, merging Nordic women. The Mongols Y-DNA is C, the Finn - Sami people - northeastern Europe does not have this gene, suggesting that N1C migrating to Europe does not stay in central Siberia and C fusion.
@jaygod6066 жыл бұрын
Mongols, Siberia, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese share a large proportion of MTDNA- matriarchal women, MTDNA-DCMGZ, and these are women with the evolution of Mongolia C in Northeast Asia of Siberia. This maternal Siberia Aboriginal 90%, Mongolia, Korea, Northeast Asia 70-80%, China 60%. NO* entered China to steal the women of the Mongolian ancestor C. It all happened ten thousand years ago. The Mongol C brothers, the Australian Aborigines, have separated for thousands of years and evolved different races. The Mongols C evolved the character of the primitive Mongolia.

@elenedhelvoronwien74036 жыл бұрын

If you notice, Asian countries even have words similar in spelling to Finnish words or names…..for example: Joki, Maki…..you will see lots of “k” and “I” and “y”…”u”. What makes Finns similar as well to our Asian family is the structure of our eyes and eyelids…. My guess he is from Haplogroup N. The thing is tho, If you’re for example 87% European And 13% Asian you will most likely look like a native European, looks already say enough. You should start with a video of his called: What does science tell us about our origins? One more thing, Nationalism is not racism.

Teofil Giray well does it matter if you look like one or the other, my point is that taking such sick pride in your nationality or race as far as to hate people for being something different is plain stupid, there's no "pure" blood or "pure"-YOUR-something, you're basically a mixture of everything.. if I were to say I'm super proud to be white and European, my dna would show that there's a percentage of Middle east Asia, some Turk, Arab or maybe even Jewish in me, so what am I really being proud of? I'm proud of being a human who can feel at home wherever in the world he goes.. but then again people deceive themselves into believing one is better and superior than the other, because... logic? I'm sure happy to see one who hates French gets to learn he had some French ancestors, and quite frankly, white people, they're never just "white". ..not the same, but equally stupid.

Some people do end up being 100% or almost of certain categories e.g. Basques, Finnish, Irish. These tests are based on modern populations so it depends on how closely you match some of the samples. They aren't really going to show older admixture. They are really designed to show how closely you match modern populations so a lot of admixture will be hidden. People take the tests too literally. The biggest consumers are Americans who just want to know what populations they match in the last 200-300 years. Gedmatch is better for showing older admixture.

Half of my family is white, my father and part of his family's side is black, and my maternal grandmother is clearly a mixed race of indigenous with whites. I feel very German, because I was born and raised here, but my mom is from Spain (Galicia) and my dad from Italy (Sicily). My DNA: - Italian 27,8% - Iberian (Spain/Portugal) 23,8% - Greek 18,6% - Irish, Scottish and welsh 12,5% - middle eastern 12,3% - Balkan 2,8% - North african 1,3% - Nigerian 0,9% All of it makes so much sense. The celtic people lived for a long time in northwest Spain and mixed with the indigenous Iberien people, especially in Galicia. My mom always says to me that she hat a gypsy ancestor and she could be from the Balkan region. Sicily was for a long time a Muslim 'country' and many people there were mixed with Arabs and Italians. Well, her results did say 23.7% Balkan, and geographically speaking Greece too is in the Balkans. Thou, when I hear Balkan I automatically think of South Slavs, which I think this test is referring too. Just saying "Balkan" is too loose of a term imo. Historically Greek were friendly and intermixed with some of the Balkan Slavs, so that DNA can potentially come from a Greek person. She did say that she's half Greek, so if her dad is Greek, it's very possible that it won't show on a DNA test. That's because in females they can only track maternal DNA. I'm not too sure about that, I'll have to research it a bit more.

Jeff Morse Actually “race” has nothing to do with DNA as race is not a scientific, biological, or genetic term. It is a socio-political term to stratify human beings for social, political, and economic gain. All these tests do is compare your alleles to various reference panel groups. Nothing more and nothing less. By the way, the continent of Africa contains the most genetic diversity than ALL continents combined. Thus, an indigenous African group is genetically distinct from another indigenous group 10 miles away.

Unfortunatelly, many brazilian people deny african heritage...he at first said that Brazil was colonized by Portuguese and Spanish as if indian and black people were invisible for brazilian social standards. Indians (in spite of slaughter) for centuries have being seen as a kind of ''moral paradigma'' of some brazilian writers and poets that saw in indigenous people virtues renegade to another people like former afro-brazilian slaves. Lima Barreto, an afro-brazilian writer said that in Brazil is better being indian than be black people. Brazil is a racist country(veiled racist), but there is a myth of ''racial democracy'' that endures up till now here..

Dani, surely that you don't know about the Brazilian State eugenic politics (c19th, c20th) that promoted imigration of Italians, Germans, Polish, etc seeking a kind of ''whitening'' of Brazilian people, following racial theorists that said that Brazilian people only will be civilizated if they got ''white blood'' in its social composition . This is the reason why some people in Brazil have more than 60% of european dna in spite of being ''phenotypical' black. Brazilian myth of racial democracy comes from this ''whitening'' racial policies These eugenic politics(these papers can confirm) were successfuly done, but veiled brazilian racism goes on until now - you can got 60% of ''white'' DNA but if you have black phenotypical features your place is on''service elevator'' (a Brazilian apartheid icon)... www.scielo.br/pdf/hcsm/v16n3/en_12.pdf www.scielo.br/scielo.php?pid=S0104-59702016000900093&script=sci_arttext&tlng=en

Darien Dodge Don't know about Poland and other Eastern European countries, but all those DNA tests seem to have problems to identify German DNA. Especially when you have northern German ancestors you get Ireland, British countries and Scandinavian countries as results instead of German. They simply don't have enough samples. Also people from GB are also descendants of Germans (Germanic tribes) , which can make things quite complicated when analyzing DNA.

Hey guys this is a pretty intersting video!!! I am from Brasil and I would to like some corrections about what Alan said. First he said that he were colonized by Portuguese and Spanish, he was part right. But he forgot about our african roots,native american roots and also our japanese, german, lebanese and italian colonization.Those ethnicities make more influence than the spanish itself. So I dont get why he got so Stunned about nigerian roots. This is a great video to show us all that first we are human beings! Hugs from BR

I'm American with ancestors from Russia, Romania, Poland, and a really tiny bit Austria as well :) I don't know how far my Romanian ancestry goes back, but I'm fascinated by Dacian history. All the countries have interesting histories and, aside from Romania, I'm particularly interested in Russia being such a huge country and the early times of Poland! I've been told I look Italian, Greek, French, and Armenian, which all make sense considering other factors of how I look lol ~ this stuff is awesome! :)
