Reaction/Comparison/Review - Dionne Warwick vs Dusty Springfield - Anyone Who Had A Heart - Awesome

This is a reaction/comparison/review video of Dionne Warwick and Dusty Springfield each doing their take on "Anyone Who Had A Heart". The song was originally written for Dionne by Burt Bacharach and Hal David. Dionne released the song as her 4th single and her first top 10 single on Billboards HOT 100 singles chart in November 1963. Dusty recorded the song during January 1964 releasing it in April of that same year on her first album "A Girl Called Dusty". Both Dionne and Dusty performed the song magnificiently, though each have their own unique vocal style. Enjoy ....

Dusty's version is my favourite. Her transition from chest to head voice on ‘what am I to do?' is exquisite.

I remember Dusty Springfield covering Dionne Warwick's Anyone Who Had A Heart. We had Dusty's first album which were mainly covers. Our version of the album was titled Stay Awhile / I Only Want to be With You with a slightly different track listing. Since they generally didn't place hit sings on albums across the pond, Wishin' and Hopin' (also a Dionne Warwick cover) was on the UK album but not released as a single there. It was her third single in the US, however. One great track on the album was Arthur Alexander's Everyday I Have to Cry. She did two Shirelles' songs and the Supremes' Love Light. Dusty was a great singer and interpreted material like none other. Here's another interesting fact: She and Madeline Bell were close friends and sang backup on each others' records. Both versions are nice. Give me the Dionne Warwick version for pure emotion and interpretation of Bacharach/David's work!

I'm a huge fan of Dusty tho I thoroughly dug her, Dionnes and Cilias versions. After all is said and done it's an absolutely beautiful song and and one of my favorites in my 60 yrs of listening to music.

Would love your reaction to skyrocketing Americana star Sierra Ferrell. Difficult to put her music into a specific genre. It really is "all over the place". What a story she has. Just a few short years ago she was busking on the streets of New Orleans, and now she is selling out Nashville's Ryman Auditorium and debuting on Kimmel's late show.
