I think this is an early morning ‘news’ program. More lighthearted than the evening news, designed to set you up for the day with a smile in your face instead of depression, trust that the adult humour will fly over the pre-teens heads, and they’ll laugh at the adults clowning around without getting any of the heavy innuendo.

Karl (Stef-ah-no-vic) is a national treasure. I feel like he was definitely at his peak when he reported with Lisa (dark haired woman) because their on-screen banter was unmatched. He’s had a few other co-hosts since then, and he/the show isn’t the same. Also, “Pedro” is his actual brother, Pete Stefanovic. Pete is married to the younger blonde haired woman, Sylvia - so she is Karl’s sis in law!

'Woke' means acknowledging discrimination on the basis of race, religion, age, culture, disability, especially racial discrimination. It can extend to standing up for people discriminated against in society. It comes from 'waking up' to systemic discrimination. Americans use the term to insult (so they believe) anyone who thinks differently to them. Sadly some Australians have adopted this strategy without understanding the basis. The term you are looking for is 'political correctness.' There's nothing in any of these clips that would warrant being removed through offence to others, which is the basis of PC, so it is quite safe to continue being just good Aussie fun.

He hit a wet patch on the road so to speak, and became a misogynistic prick to the women. Making derogatory comments and sometimes gaslit lisa . It was a mess and i stopped liking him. Lisa left the show because she was getting paid less than karl as well as his behaviour change.

Here's a Karl history. Caught slagging off in a taxi about a co host, ridiculing many including guests in live crosses and interviews as shown here. Was sacked after ratings plummeted after he left his wife then reinstated a year later when ratings fell even further, involved in numerous scandals including a foul mouth tirade by Michael Clarke in a Queensland park in January over an affair (he wasn't involved in) and a Police caution on touching a male waiter last August at a charity event plus a myriad of other antisocial irresponsible behaviours. Then the nonsensical immature laughing shown here. I'll leave it up to you for your opinion of the guy...Today breakfast show slumped to 3rd in the ratings (of 4 free to air channels) even behind the national broadcaster. What does that say?
