In the Animated Universe, things are different: the "Prime" designation isn't a divine birthright but a military rank, which means there are multiple Autobot Primes at present, all of them led by Ultra Magnus. I loved this show growing up and was one of the first introductions I had to the Transformers franchise outside of the Micheal Bay movies and Transformers Prime. I especially really love Derrick J Wyatts amazing art work and animation for this show, even though sadly he did pass away a while back. I also love the direction this series has to give us a less experienced and young Optimus Prime much like Orion Pax who hasn't become the leader we all know and love and watch him grow up and evolve. Fun Fact: This series was actually the first debut of Bulkhead as a new original character and now the character has been a very popular character in the franchise today.

The thing with RID 2015 is that, in my opinion, there is only a handful of episodes that are actually worth watching. This includes episodes with Optimus and other characters crossing over, and the season finales are all pretty decent, but going from TFP to RID 2015 is a little depressing lol. That being said though, if you choose to watch the whole show, I know we'd all be right there with you. And it's a show you could keep going as a series for at least a few months! Rewatching Animated in this video brings back so many memories. It was the first Transformers show I watched as a kid; I got into it right after the first live-action movie came out 😅

You're gonna love TFA despite how much different it is from the previous shows it does such a great job of recreating the characters and world-building. Little fact the team behind TFA is the same team who worked also on TFP (with of course so changes here and there) but you can tell the similarlys between those show instantly. Despite sharing similarlys, the work so good in there respectful story's those two are hand to hand one the few best media we had in over many years

Additional thoughts on this show as we start: It takes a lot of liberties with Transformers concepts, from the fact that the war is over, Prime is young and inexperienced, Megatron is forced to plot from the background, the title Prime doesn’t mean quite so much, amongst other things. Additionally, as the news reporter called the Autobots: “superheroes.” This show stands apart from other Transformers shows because it really is a superhero show at its core. The Autobots are known by the public and often take on tasks involving saving people and helping out in general. Not always the stuff of superheroes but certainly the work of heroes. Love the dynamic.

Something you need to know, this show was made by the late Derrick J Wyatt who died in 2021. And he also worked on the fourth series in the Ben 10 franchise. With that being Ben 10 Omniverse. And there's actually an offical statement from "Ask Vector Prime" which somewhat confirms that Ben 10 exists in a far off corner of the Transformers Multiverse. However, that was more so a hint at how DJW was going to work on Ben 10.

This is my favorite Transformers show it's the 5 one I watched as a kid and the first one I really was able to understand the lore of so I got really into it and collecting the figures which I still have a lot of today. It's funny you mentioned Ben 10 because the guy who did the character designs and art style for Animated did it for Ben 10 Omniverse which has references to animated. Also Bulkhead was made for this series so this was his first appearance he got really popular so that's probably why he's in Prime right after this. There also is another superhero in this universe but he's only in the comics for this show he shows up once apparently he was meant to be in the show but was scrapped and the idea of him was used in the comics which is always cool to see

Ah, another person seeing arguably the greatest Transformers series ever created. "What is that?" They never give it an official name, but I'm pretty sure it turned Sari's keycard into the Animated Universe's version of The Key to Vector Sigma given what it looks like and what all it can do (and given what I assumed might relate to the full extent of a certain character's origin that never got fully explored before it got canceled). "You just met him bro." Which should show kind of how sad Sari's life sort of was ^_^; "Holy crap, he's completely devoid if any color!" Lol yeah, that's typically what happens when a Transformer dies. But no, I'm pretty sure that using the Key would not just "bring anyone back". She can't really control what it does all the time and it likely just brought Optimus back because it's Optimus. It wouldn't be "his time to die" yet given his role in the universe is why i always assumed the Allspark allowed it. Spark-wise though, The Allspark/ The Matrix is the Spark of Primus, not Optimus's. It's just that in most realities it's kept safe inside the one who's meant to be leader of Primus's people (The Transformers) and usually reformats their body when it's given to them.

Ben 10 is actually a part of the Transformers universe. There's a gun that appears in Ben 10 that is from this show that was confirmed by Vector Prime, one of the original 13 Primes. He was asked about that from the "Ask Vector Prime" page from TF Wiki. There are a lot of franchises that are a part of the Transformers omniverse. I definitely want you to continue this series. It is one of the best Transformers series out there, and there are plenty more surprises to come. My favorite Autobot will always be Optimus Prime, no matter the universe. Plus, he is my number one, hero, superhero, idol, mentor, and role model of all time. Megatron is usually my favorite Decepticon, and this variant is not like the others. This show is also serious, which, in honesty, they all should be given they have been at a civil war for eons as well as how equally their ages are. I wish the IDW Comics and Alternity would get greenlit for a television series because they definitely would be the best Transformers series ever. That title still remains for Prime, which it also deserves.

"Prime" in this series is essentially an equivalent to a spaceship captain, and as you've seen, most of the Autobots _aren't_ warriors. They've all had _some_ combat training, but no real experience in a real fight. All this means that they start off _tremendously_ outclassed by the battle-hardened Decepticons. For a lot of the early series, you'll only see one Decepticon at a time, and it takes the whole crew of Autobots to fend them off. This really helps paint them as a credible threat, and lets them ramp up the danger over time as the Autobots gain experience... 32:00 You don't want to see more of Sentinel Prime. He's a dick. 😜 32:15 He's pretty much her _first_ friend, she's been so sheltered.

As you might have noticed, Animated takes cues from the original Transformers live-action film, having debuted in the same year (2007). It's ceritnly the most differnt Transformers series, what with Prime beign a rank and Ultra Magnus beign the leader of the Autobots. I hope you do check out Cyberverse. It may have some problums, like with the New York-based non-union voice cast, but it's still a great series. It really gets going at episode 6.

This show gets a lot better after season 1. I forgot that it takes place in G1 continuity, just like Beast Wars. I also recommend checking out the 2001 Robots in Disguise anime, which also technically takes place in the same G1 timeline (although it also involves time travel, which can get confusing).

Animated is my personal favorite Transformers series so I’d love to see more reaction vids with it. My favorite Autobot in the series is probably Optimus, I think mostly because even though he’s still named Optimus Prime in this show he’s pretty much Orion Pax and it’s cool to see an inexperienced Optimus. As far as my favorite Decepticon, that’s a really difficult choice because I love every Decepticon in this show. The only two we focused on today were Megatron and Starscream (and these are my two favorite iterations of the characters, though this Starscream and Prime Starscream are kinda tied), though we also got glimpses of Blackarachnia (epic villain) Blitzwing (epic villain) and Lugnut (slightly less but still epic villain). Plus it goes without saying that there will be more Decepticons as the series goes on and they’re all great. But uhh to make my long answer short Megatron is my favorite villain of the two we focused on today, though it’s very close.
