Best explained video EVAH! Thank you for breaking it down so well. Could you please do a video on shooting real estate with EOS R? I need help on blown out windows even when shooting best time of day. Thanks!
@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Main things I do are shooting in C Log, tilt blinds up so they bounce light on the ceiling to fill the room if you can, and try to expose for the inside to be about 3/4 exposed so you have a little room with the windows in post. Just gotta try to work with what you have there. If the room is super dark, sometimes its better to make windows darker with blinds so the overall exposure and light colors match better too. A lot of times it just depends on the house though, if there's good natural light it will look better & if there's hardly any natural light its not going to be the best.

Thank You!

Hey!! Definitely way more options than most people need in there lol. For most projects, I shoot in 1080p or both 1080 + 4k, and export using the option in premiere for KZbin 4k, but change the MBPS to 40, 1 pass, check the highest setting options. I also add this export LUT from adobe that keeps the colors more accurate to how you edit them in premiere. (link below) - For some projects that I shoot more 4k I'll change my MBPS to 60 or 80 if it makes sense too. Let me know if that helps! assets.adobe.com/public/a0b635a3-6bc3-452b-5f7d-c997b9b36cf5

Super helpful, thanks! How do you quickly get things to time up with the music - and do you shake it up or always hit the same beat for these kind of videos? Also, when exporting to for / to youtube do you have to choose MP4? I have both FCX and Adobe but haven't used the latter. The organization of it is SUPER helpful! thanks... How much time do you spend editing one of these. Once you have the full video - what do you include on a 1min version? And how to expedite that process for that shorter version? Thanks.
@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks for watching. I usually vary it a bit so its not totally predictable - depending on how long the shot needs to be to get the point across. Doesn't take TOO long to do that part of the edit since its mostly just cutting + deleting at the beat or wherever it needs to be and moving forward. Typically they might take about 2-3 hours to edit. For the 1min versions I cut out anything extra like secondary bedrooms, alternate angles and just leave in the best parts that still get the main idea across. You can either do a totally separate edit - or just copy your sequence over to a new timeline and delete the parts you don't need and trim up the other ones to fit the shorter timeline (so you don't have to re-grade anything or any of that) - really speeds it up!

Nice video! Question, is it good to use LUTs for real estate videos? Also, if you can share your closing clip of a video to understand how to finish them :)
@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Personally I just use my own LUTs that keep things looking natural. I think this video wasn't shot in LOG but typically I shoot in LOG so it helps speed things up as a starting point for coloring. Stylized LUTS could work sometimes but personally I think most clients would want to have more accurate colors to show off the properties. What closing clip do you mean?

This was really great and so helpful, thank you! Only question, does exporting at 4k stretch anything you zoomed in on? Just curious.
@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for the feedback! Yes, so depending on your camera you have more or less room to zoom where it still looks good. My EOS R tends to be fine if it’s 10% or less (shot in 1080p) but if I’m on my c200 in 4K i have a lot more room to reframe & key frame in post. If you go too far it can start to get pixelated. Main reason for 4K is because KZbin/Facebook/IG compress the files some when uploading so it helps to counteract that and keep the quality a little better 😁 Try it out at home and see what works with your camera and you should be good to go!

Aloha Taylor! Your videos have helped me so much with motivation and inspiration to push ahead with my Real Estate photo and video business! I've seen a lot of youtube channels but I find yours the most laid back and easy to follow, you rock! I have a questionm, why don't you shoot 60fps for indoors? Is that just 30fps is enough to slow down? Or is it because 60fps files are heavier?
@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo2 жыл бұрын
So cool! Thanks for sharing :) Its mostly because of how my camera does when shooting in low light. Higher iso gets noisy looking pretty fast. So using 30fps in lower light situations (indoors) helps me get cleaner videos (slower shutter speeds = brighter). If I were using a camera with better low light performance like a7siii, I'd probably always shoot at 60fps just to have more room in post - because why not! Also most of the time for these types of shoots, I just use slow-mo to help with stabilization so 80% (30fps) usually works just fine for me for indoor/outdoor too! 60fps at 40% is pretty slow! 😂 Hope that helps!

Hey Tyler! Why do you not you shoot 60FPS inside the home? From a Curious Fan 🤓
@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo2 жыл бұрын
Hey! I do sometimes if it's bright enough or if there's a creative reason to that I'm planning for (like speed ramping, slow mo, etc) There's not really any "hard rules" to any of this - Once you know how the frame rates will affect your edit, you can play with them how you want to or when you need to. For interiors with lower ambient light my footage gets more noisy if I do high frame rates indoors (faster shutter speed makes me use a higher iso which causes noise - my camera's native ISO is 400 and gets noisy close to 2000+) So thats another reason as a workaround & I usually like how the 30fps slowed down to 80% works for pacing in my edits so thats usually my go-to! If / When I use a different camera like a Sony A7S III with super good low light performance its different since you can basically do whatever you want to and get clean footage (At It's Native 640 ISO and 12,800 ISO) So nice! Hope that makes sense!

Great Video. Answered a lot of questions I've been having and the teaser idea is fantastic. The thing that I struggle with is shooting at 30 fps. I like to keep my clips at around 4 seconds so when you shoot at 30 fps and them interpreting down to 23.976 it makes them a bit too long. How do you manage this?
@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo3 жыл бұрын
Nice! Depending on what style you like, you could do faster movements (so slow-motion is covering everything in less seconds) OR just use 24p and do it at the speed you want the edit to be in. Always cutting the best parts of the clips either way

@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Out of curiosity, why 30fps inside as opposed to 60? Is it just to have more exposure while keeping a bit of slow mo options?
@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo4 жыл бұрын
@@tfdrealestate6238 Exactly! Trying to keep the noise down, and I found a bit of a sweet spot, knowing how fast to move to everything to keep it pretty consistent from shot to shot. Depends on what camera you have, too. If you have one with a higher base ISO like a Sony I would probably go with 60fps most of the time because why not have more flexibility in post ? :)
@tfdrealestate62384 жыл бұрын
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo I've always shot every thing in 60, on my EOS R, and there are definitely times I fight with noise. I'm going to give 30 a try on my next shoot. I never even considered it before. Thanks !
@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo4 жыл бұрын
@@tfdrealestate6238 For sure! Another trick that can help too is if you are on 30fps shooting a dark room where nothing's moving (fans off etc) - try moving slow and change your shutter speed to half speed (1/30 instead of 1/60) to bump up the exposure instead of using a higher ISO. Works pretty well without losing much detail if you keep the movement slow and steady! If I do that Ill usually get one shot that way and another option at regular shutter speed for safety just in case it doesn't work out well.

how do you slomo & do image stabilzier
@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo11 ай бұрын
Hey! Depends on what program you’re using. Typically you can just change the footage speed to match your timeline (60fps footage on a 24fps timeline can go up to 40% speed to still have enough frames for smooth playback. 30fps can go to 80% speed etc) ! For premiere pro there’s an effect called warp stabilizer you can add, for Final Cut there’s just a box in the effects tab that says stabilize. Hope that helps!
@MlleVB11 ай бұрын
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo i use primere pro but still a newbie. So i use the slowmotion and wrap stabilizer ?
@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo11 ай бұрын
Yeah! You can also right click on the actual footage in your media / bins before putting it on the timeline and "interpret footage" which will match the timeline settings (ex: it would auto interpret 30fps to 80% speed, 60fps to 40% speed etc.) then when you move the footage to your timeline it will already be slow and you can add warp stabilizer right away. I did that in this video at about the 4 minute mark. Another thing to note - If you change the speed once the footage is on the timeline, you can't add warp stabilizer afterward. A warning will pop up. To work around that, after changing the speed on the timeline (ex: if you are doing speed ramps or something like that) You can right click on the footage and "Nest" it first. Then it will basically make a copy of the footage with the current edits and you can then add warp stabilizer (in effects tab) onto it at that point. @@MlleVB
