We both have work pensions which would cover us should we need to (although as an EU citizen we don’t need to legally hit the €28.8k). I’m an entertainer and so will be working in the hotels so should be comfortable before I hit my state pension. You are so right about the mess the UK is in. I cannot wait to get out. We are lucky in so far as we already have some friends living out there, some Cypriot some ex pat brits. Like you I have started a YT channel to document my journey out there but I’m avidly watching your channel too as your info is so useful. Keep them coming. Plus, ignore the trolls, the haters, the nay sayers, they aren’t worth wasting your time and energy on, I think most of it is called jealousy. Brian

@ThatMicro43Guy2 ай бұрын
@@lisamoore9238 I don’t know if you’ve watched the video(s) on my channel as it outlines it all especially the process. I legally have always been dual nationality, although I didn’t realise until recently. My grandmother was born in Co Mayo, she came to England as a baby, when my mother was born she registered her in England but, like most people, didn’t know to register her on the Irish Foreign Born Register (FBR) even though my mother was British by birth place and Irish through hereditary. So my mother was a dual national. Like my mother, I was born to an Irish citizen but British by birth place, like her mother she registered my birth in England but didn’t know to register my birth on the FBR. As I’m legally already an Irish citizen it’s why I don’t have to attend citizen exams and why I don’t go to a citizenship ceremony. There were law changes around 2005 regarding the hereditary rights which changes it for people born post 2005 You ask why? Well there are several reasons. One is that I have a real pride in being Irish myself, this brings it to a formal and legal position, but I’m also proud to be English too, one doesn’t diminish the other. From a practical point of view I’m also now an EU citizen again which opens the door to reside anywhere in the EU, something lost to British citizens after 2020. With that I shall have an allegiance to Cyprus too….but not diminishing my loyalty to either the UK or Ireland. Had I been aware of my full cultural background I may have done this exercise years ago and may well have moved over to Ireland to live at that point, however it was not to be. Hope this answers your questions and thank you for the kind wishes. All

Great comments on immigration. I was brought up in East Manchester- Gorton to be precise. It was always a tough area, but people looked after each other and respected their area and homes. I was lucky enough to be able to afford to move away in my late 20's- more rural- but I speak to people I know, and they tell me how bad it is now. Rubbish strewn everywhere, old abandoned furniture left in the streets, gangs of men hassling local girls- by the way, the local boys don't tolerate this! Fundamentally, these "people" that arrived on our shores haven't come to work and boost the UK economy, they've come to be manipulative of a situation created by a conservative government that has fucked the UK. I'm with you, if we were bringing in Dr, engineers, IT specialists, etc, then I'd welcome these people with open arms, but the unfortunate truth is that these aren't qualified professionals. I now live between Cyprus and the North East, and I really am sympathetic to people who live in amongst these conditions. The natural indigenous people of Great Britain are deteriorating.

Really great updates and information. I think your channel will grow. I really like how you articulated (for the haters) the difference between immigration types. And in my opinion, the future is determined by the ingredients of the present. Innovative thinkers and problem solvers, who are self sufficient and not a burden with children that will continue the same way generally will build a better future in which ever country they move to. The country that attracts more of these types of people will thrive more than the country that doesn’t. It doesn’t get more simple than that to determine the future of a country in 30-40 years. That’s not the same as saying that a country should only have those types of ppl. Haters are gonna hate though.

Very useful thanks, my biggest concern is that I don’t have enough income as my wife isn’t of pension age yet but I can get around that with our savings and money from selling our U.K. home, BUT, I remember the government over there helping themselves to peoples savings when they ran out of cash, didn’t they skim a percentage off of everyone who had any savings? What’s to stop it happening again, or am I mistaken? Did they do anything to assure people they’d not do it again do you know? I’m genuinely interested in living there but I worry a lot.
@NuttersInCyprus2 ай бұрын
@f1kwa399 yes they shaved 10% from everybody's bank account that had more than 100k in the bank. Or atleast that's what I was told. I did some thinking about this myself and 1 idea is to open a revolut account in your name and a revolut account in your wife's name. Then put 100k in each and you would have the protection upto €100k on each account. However if you have a UK bricks and morter bank account, why not just keep you money in the UK and transfer the money money your CY account as and when you need it. No need to transfer the lot.

@@NuttersInCyprus thanks for the clarification and suggestions, makes perfect sense to leave money in the U.K., taking enough to satisfy the visa and to live comfortably on. I’m going to look further, thank you.

Great videos, I find them really informative for a person who loves Cyprus & is becoming increasingly frustrated living in the UK. Ignore the haters, I think there's a lot of green eyed monsters..... Any chance you can do a review of the area you're living? The bars, restaurants, beaches & the surrounding areas.... That would certainly be helpful, keep up the good work & congratulations on becoming free & having a better life, maybe 1 day I'll join you.....

England is now Hemland. (Haven for Economic migrants) I lived Cyprus for two years whilst in the Army. Always said I’d retire there. Cyprus has its share of immigrants as well but I don’t think the package is anywhere near as attractive as in the Uk. I can’t really see Turkish barbers being treated with the acceptance we grant these laundering outlets. Keep up the good work.

Good on you. I am retired, have travelled all over the world during my working life and agree with you completely. I was born and bred in Scotland and live in Scotland. We have three very elderly parents and need to be here to look after them. I don't give out advice, but young people in the UK, should look at their options. The country is being eroded by liberals and the most incompetent politicians most people have ever experienced. I wish people and families like yourselves only the very best.

Question mate, we are an unmarried couple with a military pension coming in already and undecided what to do with our house. Can we use a combination of savings and pension income to reach the threshold of €28800 and obtain the pink slip or rental income (if we decide to rent our house out) and pension income? Great channel btw

Great video ... One thing you didn’t mention, which would be quite pertinent to the older viewer, is the healthcare. Have you any experience of it? Is it of a good standard? Is it free or private?
@NuttersInCyprusАй бұрын
@MazVision healthcare is free for people on EU passport. If on a UK passport then it's paid. We have used it once for healthcare was in and out within 30 minutes for bloods and xrays and results arrived 2 days later. Spoke to somebody the other day who was saying the cancer care and support here is amazing, and I have had a few people tell me, they have had family members waiting forever for ops in the UK and that they booked private over here, flew over had it done and was on their way. However, I haven't looked at anything to confirm or deny! So it's hear say!
