Bill, please have Neil on more often? In fact, bring more notable scientists on the show!
@TheBtak139 жыл бұрын
He's a notable science communicator. Not sure if he's known for his research.
@TheBtak139 жыл бұрын
+Roy Fokker Yeah, not saying he's not. It's just that scientifically illiterate people, who Neil mostly tries to reach out to, think he's a world leading scientist.
@TheBtak139 жыл бұрын
+Roy Fokker "he's the best astrophysicist in the country" No. I think Neil would tell you he is not. He's done some research, but he's not a leading Astrophysicist, you fucking moron.

Bobs Black So what major scientific discovery is Neil Degrasse Tyson famous for?
@TheBtak139 жыл бұрын
Bobs Black But you can't mention a significant scientific discovery Neil has made? Why don't you shut up, and not comment on things you have no idea about. May I ask, what research institution does a top Astrophysicist like Neil works for? Harvard, Stanford, UT Austin, MIT? Nope. Neil is not even an active research scientist. Get your head out of your ass. You're talking to a physics major. I'm not attacking Neil. I love Neil's work. I'm attacking idiots like you, who don't have the slightest idea of how scientist work.

jonmolina948 Yeah, he does. Dolph is an amazing human being, who despite looking like Lurch, speaks 5 languages, plays 3 instruments, and also had a successful modelling career. He spends his spare time fighting human trafficking. The pope also has a chemistry degree.

+GluttonousDragon Tyson completed a bachelor's degree in physics at Harvard University in 1980. After receiving a master's degree in astronomy at the University of Texas at Austin in 1983, he earned his master's (1989) and doctorate (1991) in astrophysics from Columbia University. For the next three years, he was a postdoctoral research associate at Princeton University, and in 1994, he joined the Hayden Planetarium as a staff scientist and the Princeton faculty as a visiting research scientist and lecturer. In 1996, he became director of the planetarium and oversaw its $210-million reconstruction project, which was completed in 2000. So you see burger flipper he does have the qualifications.

I was just scanning old interviews with Johnny Carson and Carl Sagan , what a difference , it was a mature discussion and exchange of ideas in science , without being consistently interrupted with a two bit joke by Bill , the way the talk shows have evolved is interesting . 30 -40 years ago , there was substance the person was able to finish what they wanted to say without being consistently being interrupted as it is so evident here. Please check out a talk with Johnny Carson and Carl Sagan from 1978 or 1980 . This is not referring to Neil , i think he is great for science and the public .
