The Houthis want power so they can lay the road easy for Iran. I find myself agreeing with Prime Minister of Israel when he emphasizes on the subject of Iran. Iran is trying to reach out to the Shiites who live in conflict places like Yemen. Iraq,Syria Look !, I live in Taiz, a peaceful city it used to be until Houthis entered and wanted to impose their beliefs on the locals, so we are resisting Taiz has always been a place to many foreign students who used to come and learn Arabic and others who want to do " missionary work_wink wink " the point is, we were fine, I don't know why we are not fine like before.

When Bill first talked about this back in October, I thought PC was on the rise in a major way and it was a depressing thought. But lately I actually feel like the stupidity is getting called out. Comedians are speaking out about PC, attempts at internet outrage are falling flat, dumb college wannabe-Maoist bullshit is getting called out, even video game SJWs aren't getting the traction they used to. The Democrats and activists need to stop worrying about comedian's language usage and start talking about the issues that Bernie Sanders is bringing up - I even suspect Hilary's team is aware of this. Good New Rules and Bill nailed it, but I'm cautiously optimistic this wave of PC has peaked.
@elpeopuru30039 жыл бұрын
Joe Berg I was afraid they might only go half of the way, "SJWs are targeting OUR GUYS now! We need to put a stop to this!". Like it is OK when middle-Americans get targeted but don't you dare go against liberal leaders. This isn't like that, Bill Maher didn't defend just anybody, he defended Clint Eastwood and even as someone who feels pretty conservative I had that offended flag go up in my head about Clint's Jenner joke. But WHO THE FUCK CARES??? What's wrong with being offensive? Bill Maher nailed it here and he made mean, funny jokes about every big group. You'll never get progress by intimidating people to shut up, you have to show them compassion and you also have to be free to make ruthless jokes about each other. That goes for everyone.

@i get it sadly the bigotry and conspiracies and intolerance of the right are fuel for the intolerant left. So the right, as history has shown over and over again, is just digging a mass grave for everyone. The intolerant left is a reaction of the intolerant right. Both sides are going to incite civil unrest and violence against the larger block of moderates who don't want anything to do with either side - we just want shit to be fair for everyone and /then/ for government to leave us the F alone. But the RNC is obsessed with unfair systems of oppression, and the DNC are obsessed with persecution. So no matter which side is in charge American's are going to get royally F in the worst ways - and if you think there won't be collateral damage because "your side" is currently in power you're delusional... and if you think the other side won't be looking for payback when they swing into power, you're delusional. The greatest and most evolutionary moments in history have largely been when an oppressed people rise up and overthrow an oppressive ruler/government. And that shit is never pretty, for either side.

Those of you who didn't serve in Iraq have no idea how callous American forces were. After 9/11 America needed to show its strength. And just doing Afghanistan wouldn't cut it. So ANY ADMINISTRATION would have picked a fight with some rogue nation so that we could use them to show our fearsomeness to the world. At the time there was talk about "the axis of evil" - Iraq, Iran, North Korea - while the administration made up its mind about which one to try and overthrow. What happened though was that Bush overreached. His excuse was finding "weapons of mass destruction" but he - and everyone else - knew they weren't there. That's why he called the war "Operation Iraqi Freedom". Everyone knew the WMD thing was just an excuse and he should have kept it at that - but like the overconfident fool that he was - he thought he could remake the middle east with no more effort than suddenly giving everyone the vote. There are ways of bringing a totalitarian regime into democracy, but that isn't it. What America *should have* done to show its power was go after Saddam Hussein and then leave. He was a dangerous dude, an enemy of America (regardless of whose fault that was) and a real son of a bitch. Everyone would have understood America taking him out and then leaving the Iraqis to sort out their own problems. Or, better yet, give it over to the UN to worry about. Instead America stayed put, imported tens of thousands of American know-nothing teenagers with guns, and let them run rampant so long as they stopped posting pictures online of their atrocities. It was a pretty bad scene.

What people need to realise when it comes to censorship or what is politically incorrect is that the words are inherently meaningless, it's the intent. We should only be concerned when someone uses a word against someone else, and the intent is malice.
@Mattress10008 жыл бұрын

If I was the academy, I would file a police report to get W. Smith arrested, give Oscar to second nominee, and sue Will Smith on behalf of the academy and Chris Rock.

Four years later and these people are now out of college, out of work (the barkeepers, thanks COVID) and happy to get out there and riot, I mean mostly peacefully protest, because feelings.

Thank you Bill Maher! I’m technically a millennial, but I completely agree with Bill on this one. I’m so tired of all the easily offended PC folks, anything can offend anyone these days...

My college student step-daughter is part of the perpetually offended crowd. I make it a point to choose jokes that will set her off because I'm sick of her feigned outrage over everything.

Pretty much what you said. For example, Holocaust and 9/11 jokes would have been very offensive if made merely months after WWII ended/the Twin Towers collpased (for some people, they still are). They would have said it was "too soon". But now, almost every comedian has already made at least one or two jokes about these topics with no major repercussions.

What every college student should be told on his first day on campus....."Nobody gives a shit what you think, get used to it, that follows you through life". The problem is in today's 'social media' culture, everyone has a platform.....a voice. The thing that hasn't changed is nobody cares. Stop being a celebrity in your own mind.

I am severely offended by this section. How can he _generalize_ about the US military "blowing shit up"?! That is only done by radical US militaries, it doesn't represent the US military philosophy as a whole. Bill Maher needs to check his privilege, because unlike the US military, his incursions of other countries isn't scrutinized so heavily by the media. #NotAllUSMilitaries
