Yes, I have willingly taken that break from the job while constantly upskilling myself (Currently in Dubai exploring the market and networking). I'm a native Bangalorean, who has never been stuck in the vicious circle of Eat, Work, Sleep, Repeat. I always felt exciting about working with Startups, creating something new in the areas of my interest. One of the major important things is, I never fell for the the debt trap by taking huge EMI's, minimalist and a frugal living, drives a literally 20 year old Maruti car, etc etc..
@msc33292 ай бұрын
its not about EMIs rather , getting a job itself is very difficult, so once you take a break and apply for jobs, you never know if you get calls and crack the interviews competing with lakhs of people waiting outside. situation is completely different from 2011 to 2024, with internet so accessible and so many online edtech platforms, any student can learn sitting at home without job experience and each year thousands of smart freshers coming out of college ready to compete with seniors. added to this now the elon musk effect, slow economy, tensed geo political situation and the AI are making it even more difficult to get a job.

At this age, I'm not interested in learning Gen AI and Data Structures. Instead, I plan to focus on Cloud and Enterprise software. I hope this will help me become a strategic or technology consultant at a Big 4 firm and later an independent consultant. Please validate my plans and give your valuable suggestions. Thanks, Pavan

What I saw is that if you reskill yourself after having 8-10 years of experience and go for a job interview,the interviewer expects you as a pro for the new skill ,I mean the questions they will ask you according to your actual years of experience not considering you just reskilled one year back. So better to have a good amount of hands on experience on the new skill before jumping into any recruitment process.

Lovely video. I agree with you on every point. However I think you need to add another factor as well, 'that is to have the nerve to do it.' I am certain 90% of the crowd will have a panic attack if they are out of job for even a month even if they had the cash reserve. I think if the upskilling can be squeezed in while working on a job, that would be still better than doing it while jobless, unless you are doing something which has a very high chance of your absorption back into the workforce at a better position. And then there is the dreaded question by HR about job gap, especially in India, it's a prejudice. The chance of your CV getting shortlisted reduces a lot if an experience gap is seen. Most HR lack the empathy to comprehend that most of the time a job gap does not mean incompetence.

While they use Salesforce, that is limited to the Lightning version. Recently, the company has shifted to Google OS and few of us were lucky to have windows OS. How can they do that? Being an MNC, with presence in more than 100+ countries, our India team is working like a "Lala" company. Poor culture, negativity, attrition now rising more than 30% Sales are stagnant, but the company is happy showing revenues are growing. How? Cost cutting which includes, layoffs, smaller office space, bogus sales etc Adding more to surprise, you are being watched all the time on camera by CMD. This is what we should learn from leadership? And I can go on and on and on. Sorry for being so negative.
