For years I've eaten ramen with vegetables and - yes! hot dogs! Beef hot dogs, cut into coins, and cooked in boiling water. Then add your favorite vegetables. I like corn and lima beans, plus carrots and any leftover cooked vegetables. Then I add cut up scallions and the noodles. I add soy sauce, sesame oil, and a little bit of hot chili oil to the soup base when I put the noodles, vegetables and meat in the bowl.

Hebrew Nationals or Nathan's are my goto hot dogs to add to Ramen. I'll drop in a raw egg while cooking. Lots of green onion. Then finish with some Tapatio hot sauce, sesame oil and a touch of rice wine vinegar.

I would never have thought of adding tomato to ramen!! He just made Margarita Ramen!!!!! Margarita pizza is my favorite! For those who don't know Margarita pizza is fresh tomato, fresh mozzarella and fresh basil! I will be trying the tomato ramen this weekend!! THANK YOU Shitoshi! I would never have thought of making this! OK I'm going to make both, but the tomato one has got my brain working over time! LOL

I made the tomato miso ramen today. We just happened to have two packs of the Sapporo Ichiban miso ramen. My wife loves tomatoes so she was definitely excited. It turned out fantastic. The umami of tomato, miso, and mozzarella was wonderful.

I have a spicy instant ramen recipe that I like to use for chicken flavored ramen. It's really good on a cold winter day, or just anytime you feel like having a spicy ramen. It's not restaurant quality by any means, but for me it's just an enjoyable meal with a good amount of heat to it that's incredibly easy to make. - 2tsp shichimi togarashi - 1/2tbsp low sodium soy sauce - 1 clove minced garlic or 1/2tsp garlic powder - ramen seasoning packet, or using homemade spice recipe down below - 1 pack instant ramen noodles Homemade ramen seasoning - 1tsp McCormick poultry seasoning - 1tsp garlic powder - 1tsp onion powder - 1 chicken bullion cube, crushed to a fine powder - 1/2tsp black pepper In a disposable or reusable spice pouch add in the shischimi togarashi, garlic powder (if using minced garlic do not add into the spice pouch), and ramen seasoning. Bring 2 cups of water to a near boil over a medium-high heat. Add in low sodium soy sauce up to 1tbsp if desired, the minced garlic (if using minced garlic), and the spice pouch. Leave to boil for 5 minutes before taking the broth off the heat and removing the spice pouch. Cover until ready to plate. If you do not have a spice pouch, put the spices in a 10cm by 10cm (4in by 4in) square of cheese cloth and tie it with twine. In a separate pot, bring another 2 cups of water to a boil over high heat and add instant ramen noodles. Boil for about 3 minutes, or until noodles are soft. Drain the pan of water and put noodles into a strainer or colander. Rinse under hot water to cleanse any excess starch. Add noodles and pour broth into a bowl. For vegetables, if desired: boil 1 cup of spinach in 2 cups water until stalks are softened, finely chop one stalk of either American or Japanese green onion and dispose of roots, peel and Julianne 1 small carrot into 5cm (2in) strips, add about 5 strips seasoned bamboo shoots (menma), and 1 strip of seaweed paper (nori) to the bowl after plating noodles and broth.

Love the upgrades to the basic ramen bowl. The 'label' when adding the 1 cup of diced tomatoes says that's 500 mls ... it's 250 ml (1 cup) of water with 250 ml (1 cup) of diced tomatoes with liquid. If you don't have any fresh basil leaves I'm sure a tablespoon of jarred Genovese pesto made is with fresh basil would be delicious.
@MikeTheBarber635 жыл бұрын
I really love all of this! I might have rolled the basil and cut in fine strips for the tomato ramen so it would look like seaweed strips. Both recipes look so good! Great, as always.

I want to try these so much now! I love tomatoes, and that thick stew-like texture is perfect for a cold day. The nabe ramen is more difficult since I can't get anything other than the carrots at the local store, but maybe one day I will get some supplies. :) My favourite topping for ramen is cheese - I put a little bit of extra sharp cheddar in Samyang cheese soup ramen and Shin Black ramen as well as sesame oil, toasted sesame seeds, and green onions on top. I usually also put some frozen peas and corn in the pot just before the noodles go in to boil (a minute less than the instructions because I like chewier noodles too, and I eat slowly).

What maybe goes well with the tomato ramen is raw ham or pancetta, for those who don't eat cheese. The nabe ramen looks delicious. I'm going to try that this winter :) We do have some winter dishes, but not really like a hotpot. The most famous two are thick pea soup and a dish called stamppot (cooked potatoes, vegetbales and meat). Of the latter there are many different variaties.

Wa Sugoi ne, brother! I never thought to pair ramen noodles with tomato, miso, basil, and cheese. I love that brother Laurence loves the combination as well! Definitely something we will try! Our local Japanese market has a tray of fresh veggies, specifically for nabe, so now I have reason to purchase it. ☺️ My all time favorite is shabu shabu. Everything is so fresh, and the O niku is so thin, that along with the dipping sauces, and finally ending with udon noodles-So oishi! Thank you for sharing these two delicious instant ramen dishes! 😋♥️😋
