Where I grew up, strawberry shortcake never involved actual cake. It was always shortbread or pie crust with macerated/chopped strawberries and whipped cream. Your strawberry toast makes me think of those shortcakes.

I love adzuki bean paste on toast. Mostly I have it plain, but I have been known to add matcha to the paste. Also, strawberries on toast - I spread jam on the toast and melt cheese over the top of the strawberries.

We made the Natto Toast tonight with Kewpie mayo and Nori on Japanese bread. Absolutely delicious. I'm British and we like to have Heinz (has to be Heinz) Baked Beans on buttered toast. This was a great alternative. Natto toast for breakfast this week!

On eBay I ordered some ‘ごはんですよ!’ on eBay because I couldn’t find tsukudani near me. I got it a while back but it’s still good because I keep it in the fridge and only use very clean implements to scoop some out. It’s so yummy on rice and I’m excited to try it on toast

Oh my goodness! I never would’ve thought to put natto with mayo, mentaiko with mayo, nori no tsukudani, kizami nori, or anko with whipped cream on toast. Strawberry and whipped cream, yes, but not any of the other ingredients. Speaking of reactions-brother Satoshi so wanted that natto toast first. ☺️ Well done, brother! Thank you for sharing!

That strawberry toast looked irresistible. I think Justin thought so too - it made him so excited. Btw, I agree about butter - margarine tastes disgusting, so I won't have it in the house, but I always have some Lurpak in the fridge 😋

Loved the chequered one! It looks so special - I will definitely be trying that effect out next time I make cheese on toast - and as I can't get Mentaiko here in Israel I think I might try it with Marmite 😄

I am thinking you should make the natto toast, disguise it with melted cheese and then give it to Drew, it would be fun to watch. Yummy ideas, thanks
In the US we usually toast the bread before we apply the toppings.
@lmaree2008864 жыл бұрын
JC guy You can toast bread both ways. Using the grill/broiler is a nicer way to melt cheese and to heat ingredients through on the bread. I recommend you try this method too :) I’m Aussie and I make ham, cheese, and tomato or ‘tiger toast’ with Vegemite and stripes of cheese this way.

That natto toast looks amazing! I need to try it soon. You guys should try natto on toast with a sunny side up egg and furikake (I like mine with katsuoboshi furikake). It's super tasty!

I wish I could get mentaiko here. I miss my mentaiko pasta hahaha never had it on toast. I miss the fluffy Japanese bread as well. From these five my favourite would be the ogura toast. When I grew up it was normal to put strawberries or banana (fresh) on bread and eat it, so when I see fruit sandwiches or fruit toast it is kind of nostangic for me :) Other great Japanese toast ideas are with yakitori and mayo, curry and cheese and mochi with anko. In the last case get the thin slices of mochi used for shabu shabu (or cut it thinly yourself)

Aloha 🌴Shinichi & Satoshi, WoW!, What an interesting video! Shinichi, I loved your innovative combinations. For me it totally made sense. My FAVORITE would have to be Natto toast!!! Like Satoshi, I LOVE 💖LOVE 😍LOVE Natto!!! Naato is good for your heart, blood pressure, circulation, cholesterol, digestion, bones and much more. Although there are many benefits more research will need to be done. Naato contains bacillus subtilis, a probiotic bacteria not found in any other probiotic foods! Thank you for sharing this video. Brilliant❤️ I
