I met Cesar while visiting family in the UK during the Olympics, he was filming something on the street and we recognized him. We all took photos with him. I was in a bad place in life, struggling inside and when we said bye to him, while walking off he screamed "Smile girl!!" to me. I will never forget that, it felt like he really saw me even though we spoke only for minutes.

I didn't know anything about his divorce, loss of his business or attempt at suicide and it really saddens me. I have always loved Cesar and his instinct at how to deal with dogs. I think it was him years ago that said there are no bad dogs only bad owners that do the wrong things with their dogs. I respect him and wish him well and hope he can move on from all this negativity that was bringing him down.

@@ericst-germain3931 I appreciate the question and it's a good one. I know what the body of literature published by actual scientists (animal behaviorists) says. As for Millan he uses VERY dangerous and incorrect theories related to 'pack dominance.' Dogs are wolves and not even wolves behave as he suggests. Positive training means correction (choking/jerking/poking) free training. It means capturing and rewarding good behaviors. Focusing on teach dogs what TO do, not what NOT to do. I get that he's self taught (it shows), but assuming that an 'aggressive' dog is acting out of some need for dominance and not reacting out of fear is dangerous and certainly scaring or hurting them is ABUSE. Period.

I grew up running from neighborhood dogs. Therefore I hated dogs and thought they were brainless animals. I happened to watch his episodes and was amazed. He had a show on stage here with un adoptable dogs from the shelter. He proceeded to fix every single one of their problems in seconds! I got a puppy Rottweiler and a puppy English Bulldog (yeah I know not smart for a newbie). I used Cesar’s methods and trained myself first. I realized how beautiful and intelligent dogs are. We became a disciplined pack! I learned how they think! It completely changed my life and I owe him a lot for it. My dogs closed their eyes for the last time at 11 and 10 years old and were two of the biggest blessings in our lives. I would have never gotten my dogs if it weren’t for him. RIP Titan & Sofie😢

About 15 years ago, I bought my son the entire DVD set of The Dog Whisperer for his birthday. My kids and I watched every episode together and would discuss it afterward. My son is now 28 and still loves working with dogs. Recently at a party, he went outside by himself with a dog that was very aggressive. No one else dared to go out, especially since he had bitten before. After about 20 minutes, he was playing ball with the dog and they were great friends. All of that started because of Caesar Milan.

Dear Cesar, this world is very cruel and unfair. You are a good man, a man with integrity, honesty, and heart. People like that are often taken advantage of by society, especially where big $ is involved. “Sharks” strip you off things without a second thought and you are right to get angry but do not internalize it, meaning don’t get angry at yourself and do not think of suicide please. I simply love this man, his integrity, his energy and his love for helping animals. I have learned so much from him. I have three rescue dogs now and I used to have four Rottweilers that I trained using his methods. I also used to volunteer training dogs at a local dog rescue. Oh, thanks to Cesar, he teaches us how to be better humans and more like a dog he deserves the world. He is a man of Grace.

Had the pleasure of speaking briefly with Cesar when working for an answering service in NYC a few years ago. I knew it was him by his voice. When I got to the "your name/your number, please" part, I told him I couldn't wait to tell my mother that I took a call from him as we were both big fans.
