I remember my excitement as I go straight home from school just to watch old Dog Whisperer videos on KZbin. Now we have about 11 rescues and they are all so quirky but well-mannered. We make sure they get enough playtime and allow them to go zoomies especially during the day, they know how to wait and give eye-contact when it’s feeding time, they growl at each other at first but they never escalate with our simple “SSHH.” Thankfully growling never happens now that they have bonded even more. Being able to have the gist of seeing which dog would bond well with us and the rest of our dog family is also something I owe from watching Cesar for years. There are instances where owners would pick a dog they can’t handle, which I’ve seen a lot among the clients that approach Cesar’s shows. It’s easy to take Cesar’s ways in a different light especially with those actions people see as “kicking” and “abuse.” But I’m glad majority of people are not taking Cesar and his ways out of contexts. I’m just so happy for him he’s got his two loving sons, his partner, friends, fur & feather family, and his genuine fans to remind him how much he’s loved. I wish all the best for him!

@brenttthehater70036 жыл бұрын
Oh, that makes sense. The millions of people having their wages driven down and who are unable to find work because of people willing to accept work at a lower rate surely would be silent too......... It's not that they are stealing our jobs as much as they are screwing the wage market. People are having to adopt to a Hispanic culture where 5 adults live in the same house splitting bills. Hispanics take lower pay which effects the entire job market that they are swarming. What's sad is that the Hispanics could get higher wages but they compete themselves as well as natives to the United States out of the wages that they deserve. Also, ask a Mexican if they think Hondurans should be able to come here illegally. It's a fun social experiment. The same person that says "Borders should be open" is they same person that will say Hondurans/El Salvadorians/Guatemalans shouldn't be able to come in to the Untied States. Hypocrisy much? Anyhow. I've had this discussion with tens of Hispanics and they agree with what I'm saying. They think they are worth more money than what they get paid and I agree with them. If they stopped letting business owners pay them low wages and demanded a higher pay than everyone would benefit. I doubt that your friend in high school doing a Cartman impression of "They're stealing our jerrrbs" is one who would represent the people affected by the massive influx of immigration.

When I was younger our neighbours had a Labrador that would bark all day and most of the way through the night, non stop. The owners would never tell it to be quiet, or to stop barking. They would never tell it off for anything, it would bark, jump up at people, run around the house from window to window constantly, and just always be on over-drive all the time. We had up to six dogs at the time that were all more or less well trained, they were happy and playful, but knew when to just relax and would calm down when they were told to. I trained each of these dogs myself. These neighbours once saw me training one of our dogs that had trouble pulling on the lead, and told me that "you should never tell a dog off, it is cruel." Bearing in mind I hadn’t even told my dog off, I just kept stopping and making us stand still every time it pulled on the lead before walking again and correcting it. But that told me enough about how these people treated their dog and why it behaved the way it did. They thought it was cruel to tell their dog off, so they never did. It barked all day and kept the whole estate awake at night, it leapt around the furniture and and dragged the lead when it went out on walks. It wasn’t happy, it was always hyper alert and would never relax, as if it felt it couldn’t. Then one day a plumber who lived on our estate offered to fix our neighbours plumbing, and while he was over there the dog bit his hand enough to draw blood. That dog had to be put down just because they couldn’t train their dog, and believed that positive reinforcement was the only way you should train a dog. Positive reinforcement works, but you also have to tell you’re dog off when it does something wrong, they don’t understand through positive reinforcement alone, that takes a lot of figuring out for them for owners that don’t put the time and effort into that style of training 24/7. That dog died because the owners wouldn’t do something they deemed ‘abusive’. You NEED to tell your dog off, to show it that you are in charge, or else it’s just not going to be happy or comfortable. Dogs need that assurance from you that you are in charge to be able to relax in their own skin and be dogs and family members. Please don’t believe that positive reinforcement is the only way to treat your dog, I watched that mindset kill the poor black lab next door.
@TK-zj8mk5 жыл бұрын
Similar thing happened in my neighborhood. Owner of an aggressive dog didn't think the dog's behavior was a problem. That dog broke out of the gate while I was walking my two dogs and attacked them. Luckily the owner grabbed the dog off mine. Fast forward 2 years. Dog attacks neighbor's dog but this time the attacked dog almost died. Grouchy dog was put down. We all knew that dog was the product of a jerk owner. If you want a dog in your home please take responsibility for it!
@corporalsmithxx95285 жыл бұрын
Interesting that not once did you mention that you hit or kicked your dog what you were doing was negative positive positive reinforcement that is of course if you gave your dog a treat if not its called negative positive reinforcement , if you do it correctly you really do not need to yell at your dog as a deep voiced sit command works just as well if not better. Treat your dog often and get your dog to focus on you by using the treat by moving it from the dogs nose to directly above and you end up with one happy companion that will want to be with you.

Dominance theory is outdatet. People like G. Bloch/E. Radinger do research on wolves in Yellowstone and they found out, that there is no leader, no chief. There are families living peacefully together, pups move away and start there own family as they get older. If a wolve is hurt/sick the pack stays by his side. One she-wolve decided to stay next to her partner who was badly injured by a car. The rest of the family/pack went hunting for them! It is not true that the dominant one eats first! Check out new research, it´s amazing!

@@corporalsmithxx9528 oh please what kind of harm
@corporalsmithxx95285 жыл бұрын
@dg Harm is not only a physical act but also a mental act. If you kick , punch or hang a dog into submission you are causing mental stress the result of which could be a change in the dogs demeanor impulsive behavior retaliation further down the road. You can not change a dogs behavior in 15 minutes especialy if it is already the result of anxiety and fear . You just don't treat a fear based problem with fear. As far as getting a few dogs to follow you around is quite easy , feed them some treats make them think that there are more to come as you take the food out of your pocket very easy to do something that even you can do. I have done it for years at obedience school makes people think that dogs love me when really its just the treats. Any good animal behavorist psychologist will get a much more balanced and stressless result for your dog without the need to punch and kick it. But if you like to follow milan and kick ,hang punch your dog go ahead but just hope that someone from animal protection doesn't see you do it. PS. The problem is people get told by a friend how good this person is and dont do a bit of research nothing is ever reported on the dogs that are left with their owners after he has had his heavily edited program shown on tv. The UK humane society tried to get him banned from doing his shows in England large groups of people walked out of his shows in Australia , his methods are not in the dogs best interests nor the owners.

People can try to convince me that Cesar Milan is somehow a bad dog trainer, but you would need to give examples of actual abuse. He acknowledged that it was his fault that the dog bit him because of not paying attention to to how the dog reacted to the cameraman. The dog was chomping on him pretty good. He used appropriate force to stop the mauling. He adopted Holly, and she loves him as if the incident never happened.
@elizaalmabuena5 жыл бұрын
Aj Johnson ok, you asked for examples: Shadow, asphyxiated until tongue turned blue, protruding penis (yes this is a symptom of asphyxiation in male dogs), and collapse. Jonbee, asphyxiated until tongue turned blue, and collapse. Ruby and Jinx (I believe those were the names of the terriers), displayed prey drive directed at one another, prey drive reaction is highly self rewarding and contagious amongst dogs, placed in an environment with additional dogs which were affected by the prey drive reaction resulting in a large (potentially deadly) fight. Simon, dog with prey drive reaction, placed in an enclosure with a prey item with no form of control (muzzle or long leash) as a safeguard in case he exhibited the behavior. Those are the ones off the top of my head, I would need to go over every case to be sure how often such cases ocurre. I do recall a few cases of flooding for dogs with fear issues. Flooding is forceful exposure to high stress until there is no reaction, usually due to learned helplessness a state in which at minimum there is mental shutdown, worse case severe metabolic shutdown. It is commonly used as a form of psychological torture, still regarded as potential behavior therapy for humans but only under highly controlled situations, the liberty to call of the procedure by the patient, and with the patient’s full consent after explaining method and dangers (think, non invasive lobotomy).

I really do believe that. However his training techniques are mostly outdated, based on assumptions that used to be widespread but have now been shown to be incorrect. So... he's not a bad person he's just using very outdated methods, which makes him not a very good trainer. That's all.

Working with dogs, when a fight breaks out, there is no humane way to stop it to avoid injuries. I've been attacked by several dogs and the best way to stop them is to flip them on their ass as fast as you can. It's not cruelty, it's dog behavior. But if you want blood, by all means, keep whining about cruelty.

He bacled off real quick. These digs are over 150 lbs. So you try using a hose on them it just pisses em off. They dont fight anymore cause when they see me they flop on the ground and lift all four legs in the air. They know better. Repetive training and love helps dogs the mist but when they get a bit bitchy you have to lay down the law cause they will abuse you after the found they could to get away with it.
@Dover9396 жыл бұрын
Thirding, unfortunately when trying to tame a stray german shepherd, a fight broke out between me and him (he bit my goats) and ultimately the best way to break it up without injury is to flip them on to their back and put your hand over their chest or neck. I saw that show where he got the animal cruelty allegations. The dog was dominant over its owner, very aggressive and violent. Cesar was trying to discipline the dog and turn the dominant table around. He was forced to do such physical measures in an incident where he was bitten by the dog. He already made some efforts of changing the dogs attitude and forced to do physical things as a last resort. In that episode cesar has a time limit to change the dog’s behaviour before returning it to its owner. And i dont think anyone can fix that dog’s mentality in a short time. That is the only episode ive seen him going over the line acts of discipline. I blame the owner not the dog for its violent and aggressive behaviour. I would suggest everyone to watch the whole episode and not just some clips.

you always have like 0.03 sec to react when your animal snaps... Milan didn't do anything to harm the dog - it was previous owner and lack of training that led to that situation and Milan tried to de-escalate it... if you have two fighting dogs there's no "polite" way to separate them and one of them will get the kick in the butt, but only to change his attention from one subject to another - most ppl confuse that with real animal cruelty

Nowadays so many parents want to be their kid's "best friend" and refuse to set any limits and rules, when what the kid really needs is A PARENT. Snipah Shot Some kids respond well to a spanking, some kids respond well to a stern talking to. Dogs, as well as other animals, are similar in this area. A stern somewhat loud talking to with visual cues are enough to get the point of "no" across. Where as some need a bit more physical reinforcement to get that point across. That point where he kicked the dog was kind of understandable. He was being very angrily chewed on and ended up bleeding from it. I can assure you those weren't love bites, nor did they tickle.

@snipahshot76976 жыл бұрын
I was not referring to him kicking the dog, that was pretty understandable. I am talking about the accusations of choke collars. Also, kids nor dogs require physical reinforcements. My dog is a stubborn dog and it took me a while to get her to come to me when outside (mainly my point as I never really leash walked her outside), people want fast results and turn to pain but at that point the dog isn't listening to you because they want to, they listen to you because they are afraid of the result of not listening to you. @nightfly46645 жыл бұрын
In the military it isn't too uncommon for the handler to get bit by the dog. This mostly happens when a new dog enters the rotation and the handler over-corrects the dog. There is no punching or kicking the dog involved, but commanding the dog to let go. That's what you do when you have control over a dog. If you don't have control over a dog, then you have to get physical with the dog. The conclusion is, is that this person cannot be called "the dog whisperer", because he did not have control over the dog.
@rvd76555 жыл бұрын
Nightfly maybe think about he was helping the owners to learn how to have control over the dog. A dog who was never controlled can’t respect you so you have to get physical to fucking tell them no. Then the dog will understand what control is and that he is not the leader of that family. Stop acting like he kicked the living crap out of that dog, but you simply can’t say no to a dog that doesn’t know what no means.
@nightfly46645 жыл бұрын
@@rvd7655 This is completely false. What experience do you have training dogs? I'm not acting like he kicked the living crap out of the dog, I'm acting like he kicked the dog because he does not have control over the dog, he is not a dog whisperer, he doesn't treat dogs properly. A dog doesn't know what "no" means to begin with, a dog will know what's allowed and what isn't. You never, ever have to get physical with a dog as is evident by military dogs and their handlers.

@@nightfly4664 Aren't military dogs trained since puppyhood? I think there is a big difference in handling a trained military dog and an aggressive problem dog that probably hasn't been told what is wrong or right in years, if ever. I watched the show where she BY PHONE (the coward) told a family the only option was to put the dog down because it didn't respond to her squeaky voice and food throwing. There's nothing wrong with a positive approach to training a dog who is open to it, but to condemn a dog to death because it doesn't see things your way is barbaric. Her ignorance and FEAR of dogs who aren't wired to sit on someone's lap 24/7 is scary and dangerous. Prior to her television show she had nearly NO experience with dogs other than her own pets, she admitted she wasn't a dog trainer in the initial interview for the series. Cesar millan has been an inspection to me and many others. Because of him I had my first dog ever who was a pitbull, trained to walk off leash by my side and obey nearly all my commands by 7 month old. Because of him I was able to train my second dog to be an ESA who is so well-behaved he could go to college with me ride the city bus and go anywhere with me we're dogs aren't normally allowed to go. Cesar millan inspired me to devote the rest of my life understanding dog behaviors and rehabilitate dogs with bad habbits. Cesar millan was the spark that lead me to realize my passion for dogs and my purpose in life.

I still watch him. He has talent, he is great at what he does and dealing with power breeds do sometimes need to be physical. Just like dealing with kids, sometimes they need a whooping to realize that what they did was bad. Idc what those other dog specialists say. He is helping all dogs and dog owners out there. Anyone accusing him of animal cruelty, doesn't understand animal psychology. An animal will not submit to a leader who cannot live up to the title. Dogs especially, will take control if its not already in possession of another creature. That being said, when a dog is being aggressive, asking it to "stop that" ain't gonna cut it! Assertive and aggressive are two different things! If only we cared this much about other people...😒😒😒

Cynthia Drangus Lady but it kind of makes sense when a small dog leaves you with a scratch or a small wound and a big dog can kill you or take off one of your limbs. I don't know if you have seen the "angry chihuahua" videos but big dogs when not angry treat smaller dogs pretty much the same as a person would do.

Organized drug trafficking has given Mexico a black eye and is the main reason people like you hold Mexico In such low regard and call it a shit hole. But let's get one thing very clear, the USA is the heart of the Mexican cartels. We, the USA, fund the cartels. We, the USA, are the reason thousands of lives are being taken through cartel violence. How so? Because our USA has an enormous appetite for drugs. No other country on this planet consumes more drugs than the USA! No one comes even close! Mexico's problem with drug trafficking isn't drug trafficking. It's that they're neighbor, the USA, happens to have HUGE demand for drugs. Mexico's position geographically, and their neighbors unending drug appetite to get high is the reason Mexican Cartels exist. Add to that a corrupt government, and there is your shit hole. A shit hole the USA is responsible for.

I spent my life working for elderly person's and person's with mental issues and physical issues, but that wasn't considered. They just centered on the animal issue. So many people bitching about his methods of training, yet most of the more severe cases would have been turned down without a second thought by other "trainers," deemed unmanageable, and put down. Daddy himself was a former fighting dog and probably would have been put down if not for him...and he turned out to be his absolute best friend. He saved so many lives by doing what he did/does. Sometimes it is hard to watch your beloved furry family member go through a little stress when they aren't getting what they want anymore, but in the end they'll be happier to have a more stable life. Most of the people complaining are probably the same people that let their children behave like feral assholes and chalk it up to "just kids being kids" with no belief in any kind of discipline then wonders why one day they decide to go shoot up their school. I love my fur babies, they're my world. And even though they may not always listen 100% of the time, I'm not afraid to stand my ground and dicipline/teach them when need be. I remember Animal Planets, I guess "tamer" version of Ceaser with that English girl (forgot her name...Victoria, I think?), and god she was useless. Most of the time in the updates the dogs were back to not behaving or there was barely any improvement. I stopped watching that train wreck when she tried telling the owner of several poop loving/eating dogs to stick flags on the poop piles right after they pooped to somehow try and keep them from eating each others' poop. It was kind of hilarious watching the owner desperately run to each poop pile after they all went out. But yeeeaaahh....needless to say it didn't work.

Zak George is a dog trainer not a dog psychologists, these are 2 different approaches and profession. He claimed human and dog mentality was the same, Science shows this to be erroneous claim, he claims e-collars are dangerous, yes if abused sure can be, but if trained in their use can work well with no static setting at all. I asked for advice on my dog a deaf APBT who is super high energy and charging in the roads with obvious prey drive, not food motivated like most dogs from an abusive past and see's waving arms as an attacking position, thus all of GZ views were nullified with my dog.
@adayang32936 жыл бұрын
I've watched some of Zak George's videos and he is educated in some areas of training but I noticed that positive training doesn't always work. The dogs/puppies that he tries to train are always moving, never staying still versus Cesar is able to get a dog's attention and it stays still. And there's been a couple of videos where puppies will bite Zak and he keeps petting/interacting with them. Wouldn't that encourage the behavior? Whereas I've read an article from Cesar's Way, when a puppy bites you, you yelp/say ow, stop play and ignore the puppy for several seconds.

Cesar is also under fire right now as a gymnast made a lawsuit against him cause his pitbull bit her and she can no longer compete and the same pitbull mauled a puppy to death and cesar tried to cover it up. A few years ago there was another lawsuit against his training company where one dog was left bloody and bruised from intense training with a choke collar what cost $20-25,000 for the dogs surgery.
