Standing up when greeting someone is basically rule n.1 of personal interactions, unless of course actually standing up makes you uncomfortable or gives you pain. If someone stays sitting without a reason when shaking your hand, that's a red flag on their personality. Naturally the simple gesture of pushing on your legs is accepted as going the all way, just like tipping your hat counts as taking it off.

After 4 or 5 sessions, he'll start to struggle to find lipomas that really stand out. Dr. Lee is the Lipoma Queen, her stitch technique always amazes me because she leaves very little scarring.

Hi Gerard. I have Von Hippel Lindau syndrome. I have blood disorders and tumour issues but I also have hundreds of lipomas like you. Most of my large ones are upper abdomen and my back. Some sit on nerves and cause pain so I get those removed..definitely get those that annoy or cause pain removed...the fine line scars are nothing. Best of luck from Australia XXX

I also have factor 5 Leiden. Superficial surgeries like that aren’t that big of a risk but the amount of them he needs removed is definitely a big risk. I almost lost my life after a hysterectomy. I didn’t know I had factor 5 Leiden. I had massive bi lateral pulmonary embolisms. 8 back to back and spent almost a month in the hospital.

I also have factor v and I was hospitalized with a dvt at 19 years old. It was the worst pain I have ever experienced and am on blood thinners for life. I feel for this guy it can make things so complicated going forward.

Yeah, healthcare here in the USA is definitely a business not a service. The amount of time that goes into waiting for a referral for surgery, seeing a specialist, the numerous co-pays heck, even being charged for skin to skin after delivering your own child is horrendous. Edit: grammar

Everyone has the right to medical treatment regardless of what your financial situation. Including the homeless. So, it was hard to watch someone suffer needlessly all their life. When he could have had them removed as they appeared all this time. I have a real love for the city, and the city IS the people. And the people are the Best. I really wish I were a Brooklynite too. But instead, you have my respect.

there was another woman in the show too. i think one her dr lee took out 75 to 125 i think. but she didnt have the clotting illness so dr lee could go less cautious but she was laughing at how her fingers hurt after. she took 33 if i remember correctly out of gerard

I took a baby aspirin for years with a bad heart ending in a quad bypass and then a pacemaker. Always pushed as a blood thinner. I don't know why when they said I have afib they said I needed the expensive Eliquis as a blood thinner. Reduced to half the dose as it gave me bad nose bleeds. Doctors will not admit the baby aspirin would be fine and save money. I had gallbladder surgery while on blood thinners.

I also have Factor V Leiden and many, many lipomas, but smaller than this guy. I have had multiple PE and major DVTs twice. I wonder if somehow these 2 conditions feed off of each other? I also have 2 bleeding disorders so I wonder if that’s why my lipomas are smaller? There is so much to learn about the human body!

Omg, the doctors saying "how could you get rid of all of them?". You don't need to! You can only get rid of the ones that bother him the most and are the most obvious. He understands that having so many of these means it's almost impossible to remove all of them. Having a doctor decide not to go for 0% or 100% would have been great for him. Well done Dr Lee.

I fucking HATE that insurance wont pay for these to be removed. I had to fight ferociously to get one in my back removed, it was causing so much back pain and I was spending so much time and money treating the pain, once the lipoma was out it was instant relief.
