What a gentleman, he stood up to greet Dr. Lee! Be still my heart! This patients wife loves him, she wants him to be healthy so he's around for their family. Couples like this are few & far between.

Standing up when greeting someone is basically rule n.1 of personal interactions, unless of course actually standing up makes you uncomfortable or gives you pain. If someone stays sitting without a reason when shaking your hand, that's a red flag on their personality. Naturally the simple gesture of pushing on your legs is accepted as going the all way, just like tipping your hat counts as taking it off.

I took a baby aspirin for years with a bad heart ending in a quad bypass and then a pacemaker. Always pushed as a blood thinner. I don't know why when they said I have afib they said I needed the expensive Eliquis as a blood thinner. Reduced to half the dose as it gave me bad nose bleeds. Doctors will not admit the baby aspirin would be fine and save money. I had gallbladder surgery while on blood thinners.
