Jo we do in urban areas (quite a lot) and some suburban, but because our roadway network is so huge helicopters don't always have the range and top speed to maintain pursuits once they move onto the highways. We also use far more aggressive vehicle pursuit driving tactics that let our cop cars keep eyes on. If a motorway pursuit goes seriously insane we send up fixed wings. Cheers. 😎

NPAS pilots are all Civilian pilots, these are a mixture of Ex servicemen/women, professional helicopter pilots and pure civilians with a PPL. As long as they can pass the tests set out by the Chief pilot of the area they apply for they are able to hold the position.

Some years ago, police were called to a guy loading automatic weapons into the back of his car. Fearing that he may be involved with organised crime or terrorism, he was followed by unmarked vehicles until he pulled into a restaurant and met a girl. A plain clothed female officer took a table close to them was amazed when the guy went out to the car and brought one of the guns in to show the girl. Everything stepped up a notch, more cars joined in and a helicopter joined in as they left the restaurant. They were somewhat surprised when both the criminals drove in convoy and were joined by a van. They were followed for almost 30 miles until they stopped outside a large industrial looking complex. All the preparations where being made, for armed officers to swoop, arresting the occupants of both cars and raiding the building to find out what was going on inside. The helicopter crew were asked to survey the building, by which time the helicopter from the local force had arrived to assist. You can only imagine how all of them reacted, when the second pilot told them that all the action was outside the rear goods entrance to Pinewood Film Studios, where the only thing being shot was the latest James Bond film. However, carrying the guns openly and taking them into the restaurant broke numerous laws. The studios were given heavy fines and new regulations were put in place for use of and transporting firearms to film studios, locations and in live theatre.

How amusing that a failed petty criminal, such as you, who admits to having been arrested and convicted many times, might question the mental capacity of anyone. Susan Hughan I think so . I don’t know it perfectly but from my research you need to be 18 and visit a Airsoft Field like 3 times in 2 months or so and do the paper work . But their could be restrictions on this . Also the FPS limit for full auto is like 360 FPS or so and don’t go over it as then it technically a gun which is you know bad . Ask an Airsoft shop or field for actual good advice.

Almost 15 years, bar a few months, since PC Sharon Beshenivsky was murdered by the scum that Sky Cops were protecting on their way to court. I see the last suspect was arrested in Pakistan and that there is deliberation over his extradition. He's lived freely since her death and the shooting of her colleague. @@tomsoki5738 Yes always treat a firearm if fully loaded unless u know it isn't. I've shot countless rounds of 5.56 from a l85a2 so I'm not a complete moron when it comes to firearms. When u KNOW it isn't fully loaded u don't need to pretend that it is.
