@13:25, It's never mattered to be able to know what he's saying bc he literally grabs your soul and takes you on the journey with him which is completely transcendental! There's nobody like him and I'm just so very happy I was here for this, in this time..and I don't know if there'll ever be anyone like this again!❤❤❤ I actually was going to hitchhike from New Mexico to New York to get to see his first concert here in the USA in late 2019! Sadly I was not able to go. But I will one day!! 👉 This is the song of the songs for Dimash and us, his Dears. This song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight. In 2017 Dimash received a wild-card for the competition “The Singer” in China. He was the youngest participant of all time (22 years) and the first non-Chinese. Only professional, award-winning singers take part. Nobody knew or hear Dimash before and he also had to start first... and after this song Dimash captured the hearts of millions of viewers overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood at his door. The competition consisted of 14 rounds, over 4 months. The jury consists of 500 spectators. With up to 1 billion people see this tv-program, that's generated international interest. The performances were uploaded to KZbin... and so, we became Dimash’s Dears. The Chinese organizers planned that Dimash would survive two episodes of the competition and go home again. They didn't really believe in him. Missing words to say and cry without knowibg what he sings about! It's so fun for us "Dears" (that’s what Dimash calls his fans because he loves us as a dear family) to see how people react to him. Some info about Dimash. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 6-7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe! He also sings in about 12 languages and speaks 3 so far. He is born in 1994. He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (also called " I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other by invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500. Dimash Kudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside). They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night. As you probably already know by now, Dimash is a phenomenon from Kazakhstan. The song “SOS” is originally from a French-Canadian musical called ‘Starmania’ from the 1970s and is considered one of the five most difficult French songs to perform. Dimash performed here at the 2017 "I AM A SINGER" competition. It is an annual Chinese music competition between famous and established professional singers where the audience phones in to determine the winner after each episode. The audience is the same throughout the entire show, 500 with musical backgrounds and they judge the show by points each week. The competition consisted of 14 rounds, lasts almost 4 months and competitors are eliminated throughout the season. Every performance is live and no lip-syncing or auto-tune is permitted. Pure unadulterated vocal ability only. This was the very first episode of the competition, and Dimash had to go first because he was considered the weakest given that he was completely unknown to the audience. He had been invited as a wildcard and was the first foreigner and youngest person to ever compete in the show. After this performance, he became a superstar in China overnight. His Chinese competitors called him their "little imported brother." The other already well-known contestants were in absolute awe of him and joked that they might as well go home. Dimash won the first two episodes! He also won the 6th, for his rendition of “Adagio”, a song made famous by Lara Fabian. Dimash won the first two episodes! Some informatios about Dimash. Dimash is from Kazakhstan, he is 26 now, 6,3" . His vocal range extends from the lower notes of the baritone register to the highest notes of the soprano! It also reaches the whistle register, the highest note is D8. This is the "I am Singer" contest in China, but not like Voice etc. Only famous, established singers are allowed to participate by invitation. He sings in 12 languages, all genres and he plays 7 musical instruments (all really well!) He’s currently 26, here he was 22. He has been classically trained since the age of 5. He has 2 degrees in singing, Classical and Contemporary/Jazz, a masters degree in Composition (he composes fantastic songs) and he is currently studying for his Doctorate in Musicology. He is currently learning English and Mandarin and was recently interviewed by MTV without a translator present. His range is currently A1 to D8. He has millions of fans all over the world and after this performance in China, it was downloaded 600 million times on their version of social media and he became a worldwide superstar overnight, although we in the West are a little late to the party! He has had sell out concerts all over the world including the West, London in 2018, New York in Dec in 2019. His first album (ID) went platinum in 37 seconds and 3 times platinum in 40 minutes. In this competition he did 4 songs, SOS, Opera 2, Autumn Strong, and The Show Must go on. This is a good place to start because he is the same age. If you skip around he is sometimes older and it just kind of doesn't make sense. Thank you for your reaction, hope to see more. He is I think 22 here or younger. He is now 27. He has always been able to get his audience to feel what the song is about even if we don't know the words. Stay away from the US show," The World's Best" the judges humiliated him because when he got into the competition he saw that he was up against kids 12 and 13, he was 24. He didn't think it was fair as he was more experienced then they were. The judges didn't care that he had a moral reason not to continue and told him that they expected him to continue in the show. It wasn't good but he did leave the show before the last round. He is a very kind, gentle and caring human with a great respect for everyone.

To add to your appreciation - he was a 22 year relative unknown from Kazakhstan, performing a song in French for a Chinese audience. In a competition (as the wild card) with already well known respected Chinese singers. Can't imagine the nerves that had to be there. He sings in over a dozen languages, but at the time only spoke Kazahk and Russian. This was his first performance - and that is what he created. Dimash IS music. Every fiber of his being. During his time at The Singer he wanted to thank his Chinese audience, so he learned a song in Mandarin in one week - the gorgeous "Autumn Strong". He came back to The Singer one year later as a guest (not competitor) and sang a cover of Lionel Ritchie's "Hello". It's amazing. For more recent songs check out Sinful Passion, Ogni Pietra, Love is Like A Dream, and his latest movie soundtrack song Across Endless Dimensions. :)
