I just got my Behringer X32 Producer back from repair under warranty; it's a relief they were able to fix it. Anyway the routing part of your tute is what I needed. I'm using Reason 11xx and info's on using the X32 with Reason are few and far between. thanks man all the best. Steve Turner :)

Hi Marcus I’m wondering what brand of flight case are you using. I am about to relocate and I need a flight case that can hold my gear including my X32 Producer?

I have been a Sonar user since Sonar 2 and a Cakewalk user since Pro audio 9. Going back many years now. I am so glad that the new Cakewalk is a revised version of Sonar and it is free. What an awesome program.

@@jeffpyzocha5474 I am working on a video now where I will address the questions in the comment area. Working hard to get it done but my time is limited because I have been deemed one of those essential employees through this whole virus mess. I hope to start filming your request and the other requests in the comments this weekend. Hopefully, within the next week or two, it will be up. Sonar communicates with all hardware using midi. Within Sonar there is something called "ACT" that does this function. You basically make an act controller for the Behringer and then you go through and make the midi assignments. of course, the main goal would be to take the transport controls on the Behringer mixer and use them to control the process. Still researching it and I will let you know what I find out.

Hello sir. Great work ! How to switch to one monitor to an other with this mixer ? Or do I need behringer monitor2usb ? Thanks
@marcuscurtismusic
@marcuscurtismusic 3 жыл бұрын
You still have the main outs. You can use those in a studio environment to hook up another set pf monitors if you like. You have 6 other outputs in addition to your main outs that can also be used.

Hi Marcus, How are you Sir? Did you ever put a video out on how to playback each track to its original channel on the X32 please? For example, if I record two singers, one on channel 3 (Left) and the other on channel 3 (Right). How can I route them during playback to play on channel 3 left and channel 3 right?
@marcuscurtismusic
@marcuscurtismusic 4 жыл бұрын
Yes I did, and I mentioned your question in the video and I address routing. Basically to do what you want you need to select 32 tracks in and 32 tracks out on your card. The mixing board in Sonar will display 32 hardware outputs that will allow you to route those tracks back through the channel you recorded. Use the routing in the mixer app to route channels back through the card to play them. I find this approach hard to use because the Behringer always routes things in groups of 8 and I don't think it's very practical. What you really need to know is a little more on the concepts of routing which I address when I answer your question. That video is found here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3K9i56Dl5KajZI I provide a few different examples about how to route your recordings back through the same channels you used to record them. The information is about halfway through the video past the metronome information.

Hi Marcus, these videos are fantastic thank you! If you could answer a couple of questions I would appreciate it. Do i need to download the app? Im running through protools 10 and am able to record tracks just fine. Next question when i'm recording multiple players i am unable to adjust their IEMs separately when recording, I can only adjust one main level which effects all of their IEMs. Thanks again these videos are very helpfull.

You obviously don't need the app to record music with the mixer, but the app will allow you to control the mixer remotely. This helps when your working in Protools and you want to make a quick adjustment within the mixer. Another great feature for me is the monitor on the mixer is small and hard to see. The app basically blows up that screen and places it on a computer monitor and now I can use the computer to manually control the mixer. Keep in mind that you need ethernet cable connected from the computer to the mixer, however, you can also connect that ethernet to a wireless router and use an iPad to control the mixer as well. This is great in live situations when you are walking around and checking for a uniform front of house mix. I only record my own music so I don't know much about IEM. I just use the headphones. I think the solution is found through the UltraNet port. Check out the P16 www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/P16M--behringer-powerplay-p16-m-16-channel-digital-personal-mixer

Thanks for another great video! Just wonder have you had any issues with your x-usb card being flakey with the computer? When I first turn on the board and start playing audio from the computer there is no signal at the board. It seems if I just leave it play for a while it will all of a sudden start playing. I ended up using a aux in with the stereo jack because I can't chance it not working on a Sunday morning. I've opened a ticket with Behringer but have yet to hear back from them yet.

I have not had any issues with the computer connection. It is pretty stable for me. I would say the first thing you should do is make sure you have the most current firmware update. I had an issue with my mixer when I had version 4.0 firmware installed. When I upgraded to 4.1 the problem went away. The other thing I would advise is that you also make sure you have the most current version of the Behringer app to go along with the firmware update. The final thing you can do is swap out your USB cable with a different cable and make sure you are plugged into a USB 2.0 connection. You may also want to swap the ethernet cable with a different one. This will eliminate the possibility of a faulty cable. If all the above does not fix the problem then you could have a faulty USB card. If that is the case and you need to swap out the card. Look into the X live expansion. It may be better for your needs www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/XLIVE--behringer-by-live-x32-expansion-card-for-32-channel-sd-sdhc-card-and-usb-recording

After thinking about your problem a little more I have a few questions. What software are you using to playback the audio? Are you recording anything or just playing back audio? Can you give me anymore information about computer as far as system specs go?

@@marcuscurtismusic I am an IT consultant so when problems like this happen I go to the basics. I had the sound control panel open looking at the playback devices and the associated level meters. I started playing an mp3 in VLC media player and was watching for sound output on the meter. Switching to the speaker output showed that audio was playing. So I switched back and waited. After it played for a while (maybe about 30-45 seconds) the meter lit up and then sound went to the board. The same was true for audio going the other way. I had no further troubles with it until the board was turned off and back on. The computer system was purpose built to run pro presenter for our worship lyrics. It is an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X with 16GB of ram, 1TB NVMe SSD, Nvidia GeForce 1660ti .. plenty of horsepower. Running Windows 10 version 1909. The x32 is on 4.02 which from what I can tell is the latest. I have the latest X-USB driver installed. I really appreciate you taking the time to help and respond.

@@rwebb616 I think it is interesting that the sound guys in churches all have IT backgrounds. At least at my church they do. I have a little background in IT myself. Forgive me for my knee jerk help desk reaction. I forgot that you have an IT background. Your system specs on your computer are way more than what is needed to operate the mixer. When I was playing out at a gig and I wanted to play music during the break, I would playback audio using a thumb drive plugged into the mixer where the recording functions are located. Eventually, I organized a break set on my phone and would playback audio with my phone plugged into two AUX inputs. It seems like your problem may be hardware related after all. I wish I had answers for you. Keep me posted on the solution you discover. Now I am curious about what the outcome will be for your problem. When this stuff works the tech is amazing. When it does not work it can be the most frustrating thing.

@@marcuscurtismusic Yes, it is certainly odd. When I plug and unplug the USB connection the device immediately appears and disappears in device manager like it is supposed to. I had opened a ticket with behringer support earlier this week and have not heard back. Maybe they are short staffed due to this virus stuff. No problem on the response. I did not take offense.

Hello Marcus, thank you for your videos they’re extremely helpful. I just bought the M32R. I’m having some troubles figuring out how to have separation L&R coming out of my studio one software. When I’m trying to pan left and right it does not correspond with the speakers. The board is shipped with main speakers out 7&8 and they are panned left to right. I can pan channels on the board to make it work, but that does not seem necessary. I’ve been trying to figure this out for 48 hours, if you have any time I could surely use your help. Thank You

Even though the Midas M32R LIVE Digital Mixer is similar to the Behringer X32 Producer there are some differences. The back of these mixers and the inputs are identical. But the software app and some of the features are a little different. I believe the solution you are looking for is found in the studio one software which I am unfamiliar with. Every DAW is a little different. In the DAW I use (Cakewalk) you just create two main busses. One left, and one right. Pan the first buss left and the second one right. I wish I could provide a better solution. Best of luck.

Thanks for recording this, great info! Q: Can you route the Cakewalk output to the same channel it was recorded from? For instance, you recorded the bass on track 3, but sent the Cakewalk output to a different channel. Could you have routed it back to channel 3 on the X32?
@marcuscurtismusic
@marcuscurtismusic 4 жыл бұрын
Yes you can! You accomplish this through the routing in the app or on the screen built into the mixer. The truth is it is much easier to use the app when you record music. This is why I tell people to download it and use it. I am sorry it took so long to respond. KZbin did not notify me of your comment. I just found it and I guess I need to monitor my comments better. Let me know if you get stuck or need info on how to do this. This time i will pay attention.

Im just here to tell the story that you can buy the most expensive monitors and still get a trash sound because you didnt treat the room acoustically. And your room sounds roomy as hell... and you really should hang that picture frame properly. However... good video. It serves the purpose.

The sound of the screen capture came from a yeti mike it did not come from the mixer. I had several people ask me how to do this so I made a quick video. I know the audio could be better but it is not the fault of the room or the mixer. but it serves the purpose.
