Can we just take a minute to appreciate the fact that this band has been able to not only remain relevant for nearly 40 years but also managed to genuinely connect with every new generation that's come since they first formed back in '84 and continues to make genuine good quality music that fits into the world as it evolves around them without becoming repetitive or selling out. I honestly cannot think of a single other example of a band doing that except potentially the Beatles but even then they still don't quite match the feat RHCP has pulled off by still being important in todays environment. It's honestly incredible.

And i never said you were unfamiliar with their work nor did i say that you were questioning the number of fans they had. What i said was that you are in the minority having the opinion that they sold out to the mainstream and became bland because they still get great reviews from the majority of fans who continue to stay loyal and enjoy their work even the new stuff. But even if they did become bland, that doesn't negate the point of my original comment because even if they had they are still relevant and they still continue to connect with the younger generations as they grow and evolve their sound based on the influences of the new music that becomes popular. They still have good record sales and a good amount of streams and downloads on youtube and other music related sites which all goes to prove the point i made that they are still relevant and making good music after 40 years otherwise the fan base as a whole would not respond as well to them as they continue to do. You are entirely welcome to feel they no longer make music you like, i'm not saying you can't. However i am saying you can't say they no longer make good music period because you and the vocal minority that say they don't are not the sole deciders of that, the fan base as a whole is and they have shown continuously that they still support the band and they still make entertaining and enjoyable music since the fans still buy, download and stream the new stuff at good rates. You feel how you feel and that's fine, i'm sorry you no longer enjoy their music, but you don't decide the validity of the points i made in my original comment, and the proof of the validity of my objective statement is there for anyone to see. Just because they don't make the music you like does not mean they aren't still making music that most of us do like, and even if i happend to agree with you, that wouldn't change the objective reality of the original comment i made.

My kid was about seven years old when we lived on the Venice boardwalk and my neighbor told me that The Peppers would be performing on their roof that afternoon. I was so excited because I had seen them play live on the Arsenio Hall show before anyone knew who they were. So, to find out that they were gonna be playing on my neighbor's roof, my hubby and our kid and I headed over to the basketball court and watched them film this song until sunset. It was a magical day and my kid's first live rock show. Good times.

People need to realize that YES they have changed their style but yet it's still the same RHCP since the beginning. I think this and "I'm With You" is fantastic. Josh Klinghoffer is an amazing guitarist without a doubt. Chad and Flea still are just as amazing as they were during Mothers Milk and Blood Sugar Sex Magik if not better. And Anthony, well Anthony is a 52 year old man who still looks 40 doesn't seem to age, is a fucking rocker on stage and is singing his heart out in these songs. RHCP over 30 years! Keep rocking

Today marks exactly 12 years since I first heard this song, and it has been the most listened-to song by me in my entire life so far! It was on November 12, 2011, on a Saturday afternoon, roughly around this time as I write this! such a special time of my life. On that day, MTV Brazil was broadcasting a replay of the European Music Awards hosted by Selena Gomez in Belfast, Northern Ireland. RHCP performed the song at the event and I remember rushing straight to Kboing, which was a very popular music site among brazilian internet users at the time. Since that day, to be honest, I can't recall if I've ever gone a day without listening to it. Whether the actual song, piano or guitar instrumentals, or live show recordings. A shoutout to the Red Hot boys, Selena Gomez, and Northern Ireland! 💌

By the time Frusciante decided to leave the band, Josh was the best choice. I will explain why. Josh was the second guitarist through the stadium arcadium tour so he was a familiar face and a proved guitarist to chili peppers. Also he has coorporated with Frusciante at some of John's solo works. And last but least, he brought a new kind of sound to chili peppers. The "I'm with you" is a great album which proved the band's versatility and ability to adapt new styles. And personally I really liked this one...
