This guy was a natural born comical genius and no comedian can't replace him? He always laugh at his own jokes. He can make a person laugh so hard that the person has an accident in the pants. After each end of the show he will say Good night and may God bless. You don't hear that phrase anymore nowadays.😅😅😄😄😃😃😎😎

The man was a genius. He was famous for improv before most of today's comedians were born.

This show was at Devils Lake Corral nightclub in Onoway Alberta 1982. Red Skelton was the coolest gentleman I ever had the pleasure of meeting out there.

My wife and I were there at the time to watch Red .. we sat at the very back ..we enjoyed Red's antics very much .. At the end of the show I managed to get near the stage and have Red autograph the program for me . I was so nervous that I blurted out ' I love you' much to my embarrassment .. But Red took it all in stride and said ' ah Thankyou ' I still have that autographed program ..

Red, the man with the secret of laughter. As a little child, I had to take a nap in the afternoon so I could see the red skelton show at 9 00 . Well worth it. So so funny.

These were true masters of humor, when you can be funny without using profanity. That is a challenge for most comedians today.

In 1973, as an airline agent at Chicago O'Hare Airport, I had the unforgettable pleasure to board Mr. Skelton on a flight to Palm Springs. He had been my idol since I began watching TV in the early 50's, as a kid. I will only say he was one of the most gracious and kindest "stars" I ever had the pleasure to meet and I can attest that, unfortunately, there are several others I also had direct contact with who were anything but. In the 70's, smoking was still legal and he arrived at the gate with a huge cigar in his mouth but unlit. When I pre-boarded him on the aircraft, one of the cabin service guys was in the aisle, finishing cleaning the cabin and wearing his large ear shields and when Mr. Skelton encountered him, his first comment was: "Hey Kid. You ever think about having those things lanced?" Classic Red Skelton. I'll never forget the man, as long as I live. He was truly a unique talent. God Bless Him.

In 1988, my wife, 2-year-old daughter & I lived 8 miles from Anza, a little nothing of a town in the mountains above Palm Springs. There was a little diner just on the outskirts of Anza. We went there for breakfast, putting our little daughter in a high chair. We were the only ones in there at the time, except for an elderly man and a younger lady who were sitting several tables away from us. I didn't pay any attention to them. But after a little while, the couple finished their breakfast and were walking out. Our little daughter had her sunglasses on top of her head. As the couple passed by us, the old man said, "Well, look at that! A little girl with nearsighted hair!" My wife recognized him instantly and said, "Hello Mr. Skelton!" I hadn't recognized him because I never expected to see the likes of Red Skelton in a little diner in little old Anza. So I asked him, "What are you doing *here* ?" He said, "I've got a ranch over there on the other side of town."

I loved this man since I was small. I still watch his skits whenever I find them. I tried to introduce him to my hubby's grandchildren, they said "I don't get it". What a shame, but I don't get their comedy, cartoons either. I will continue to watch Red whenever I need a lift. All kids should watch his Pledge of Allegiance.

Can anyone help me? I love Red Skelton! I'm guessing that it was around this same time (1982 or so) that I saw a Red Skelton Special and he talked about his mom. It was so sweet and he got all choked up. I would love to hear the sweet things he said again about his mother! I've been trying to Google it but have come up with nothing.

I couldn't miss his TV show. I especially watched for the goofs and his improvised reactions which I don't think he ever edited. I remember one western skit where he had to hit another actor over the head with a chair that actually fell apart when he lifted it over his head. "They don't make furniture like they used to."

I'm in Louisiana. I just texted the Helen Hunt joke to my grandson in Michigan with him as the one who left his pocketbook at my house. Come morning there's going to be a big yankee dude drinking his coffee and thinking his grandma is finally ready for the nursing home.

Mr Red was and is my favorite comedian Johnny Carson wrote for him for awhile and John study Mr. Red and learned how to be funny with out cussing. Mr. Red when he was coming up they couldn't even say damn or HELL. On Johnnys show Mr Red asked Johnny what do the people in hell tell others to go. Very funny off the top of his head most times. Mr Red was also an artist he loved to paint pictures. I miss him and Johnny to greats gone that these younger people should study for humor with out cussing every other word. Cuss words are not funny. If you take out the cuss word and its funny don't use the cuss word if it not funny get a different joke with out the cussing. What a shame all the great actors and comedians all gone now. There are a very around but retired or to old to work because the powers to be says they are. You have to be young and not over 40 years old and be skinny and good looking to be a star. Now days. T hats BS. The great stars worked in there 70s even but we got away from talent to no acting at all just speak the words. Actors today can't act at all. They can't even talk to a tv host with out a script that's bad. Can we go back to the 1920s - 1950s to get those kind of actors back and singers and comedians too. The early 60s was ok too. Now these stars are to political so are all the sports casters and players ,singers every one. Do what you do with all your heart and rely on God. For all things. Rip Mr Red Rip Mr Carson.
