Here’s my opinions on some of the story missions in the game in case I wanted to make a ranking of them. Banking, The Old American Art: if there was an award for, “Biggest low-point climax mission.” This would earn it without a struggle. EVERYTHING, goes wrong in this mission, no exceptions, The heist fails, Milton and The Pinkertons quit messing around, Hosea is killed, Lenny is killed, and to make it worse, half of the gang gets shipwrecked, this is definitely a big turning point in the game and has a much different effect and bigger consequences then the previous, “Something goes wrong with one of our enemies so we have to have a big shootout in our current settlement and then go on the run again to a new one” missions, with the previous examples being The Sheep and The Goats, and A Short Walk in a Pretty Town, and, h*ll, you could basically see this mission as being a historic repeat of the Blackwater Massacre, The gang attempts to rob a more modern, civilized settlement, It all goes wrong, many of their members get killed, The authorities became more furious and blood-needy, and the gang ends up in a lower place they started where they just have to completely start over. Back to square one, or with a phrase I’ve sometimes used, back to square none. Also The later part of the mission where you have to sneak onto a boat in the rain is great to show how quiet things have become after your loud chaos earlier, it felt kind of like a mission in a James Bond/spy game. Blessed Are The Meek: This mission does a good job showing you how chaotic Micah is a why we REALLY shouldn’t like him, we only had small snippets of him being bad before but this mission has him a the chaotic star. Not only does he cause you to demolish the population of a town once you break him out, but he also kills two unarmed people just so he could get his GUNS back, it really shows you why you shouldn’t dislike him but the mission also give you some love to hate gun-action with it too! Which is equipped with a great mission score to go around with it, so I guess that’s a bonus. Sodom! Back to Gemorrah: I really liked this mission when I first played it, not only does it give you a hefty amount of loot, but it also does a good job showing you the heist system in the game, also I haven’t replayed it and just remembered the ending after looking at the mission on an Rdr fandom page, but the end part where Arthur goes to Mrs. Downes and Archie Downes, OOF, THAT’LL TAKE SOMETHING OUT OF YA!

Replaying rdr1 right now, and you can really notice a significant downgrade in the missions. In rdr2 almost half of the mission are collectible missions while in rdr1 there all unique with all kinds of themes. Such as the flying machine, sam odessa, canibal and the horse "lover"

No good deed has a great pay off. The Special miracle Cure pamphlet that allows you to make the elixir with milkweed instead of the only 4 English mace you can get in the game. I you give Arthur those tonics once a day in chapter six he will not be half dead all the time.

I find the Jeremiah Compson storyline to be a sad story more than anything. Compson never evolved, he was so angry about what happened to him that he couldn't see the error of his ways. He lost his son and access to his grandchildren, there is no mention of a wife so she is probably dead or gone, he lost his home, he tried to find other work but couldn't fit in. The man tried, but he was so stuck in the past that he couldn't make it in the post-Civil War South. How he made it to 1899 I'll never understand.

I'm currently playing Red Dead Redemption after my last Red Dead Redemption 2 playthrough, haven't played the "later" game since before my old 360 got Red Dead Ring I didn't finish any of the collecting missions, maybe next time if I don't get too bored lol 🤪 I don't recognize some of these missions, might need to look up what's not on the map like I did with the graves and that robot on the mountain top (didn't know it could fight you) Took me forever to catch that fish for the veteran, had to look it up and discovered it's possible to catch it quickly by not casting as far as the tutorial says to

I think the gunslingers, Charles Chatenay are my favourite strangers, and A Fine Night for It is actually pretty fun. A Better World A New Friend is easily the worst stranger mission. I'll never forget the day I spent half an hour hunting a woodpecker while simultaneously having covid.

It's a game about an outlaw gang where you're a part from. Damn men in rdr1 as John it makes sense to play with good honor. But in Rdr2 how sad that it is(the ending then) but I like low honor Arthur a lot more. Low honor and going with John. Or have middle honor and return for the money so you can scar Micah's eye.

To each their own, but I don’t share your opinion and say it is a lot better to end in high honour in RDR 2 whilst starting off relatively low in the early chapters. They are outlaws, but they are not like Colm O’Driscoll and his gang as well as any other gang who goes after anybody including innocents. They mostly robbed rich people and places and would only kill enemies including the law to survive. Ending Arthur’s story on the highest honour possible felt inspirational, doing so much for others in his last moments instead of remaining a bad and greedy person.

Would you still think Arthur has high honor. + the fact you know he killed a lot off people... Think about it like that. You can't undo 20+years in 2 months if you're be good then... Nothing gets forgotten, and nothing gets forgiven.. I love the low honor playthrough. You high honor I know allready. But when taken a realistic view upon it he can never undo his sins and would only have high honor for a few people that knew him.

He had different morals from the start that were separating him from the gang he knew his whole life and had a sense of right and wrong that became more understood by the time he was diagnosed with TB. He was outside the law and killed people, some of whom might not have deserved it, but he also had a heart for the less fortunate, something that big governments especially back then lacked. He wanted to spend his remaining days doing good for others who he sees as deserving better lives instead of being greedy. Those are reasons why high honour by the ending was the right way for me to end this. It is also not like John is “not guilty” of the various misdeeds the gang got into either. Play however you want, but I will stand by my way of playing this game.

I think developer put smocking and other hobbies mission just so player get to see how beautifully hand crafted this world of RDR2 is. Because in order to search for these cards players have to visit almost every corner of the game world. Although you can just buy premium cigerette from the store and get cards randomly but that will cost you 500$ - 1000$. In my second playthrough I appreciated RDR2 even more seeing how much effort the devs put to built these game world. That's why this mission is my top 5 favourite. But from story and reward perspective this mission sucks. So I get why you rank this mission very low.

This guy is total sucker for that Sister character. Every list has her in the top. Guess the creator is highly religious or something, otherwise it doesnt make sense that a minor, tiny subcharacter of her is in top of everything. For the rest of the missions he says "the story is cool but the mission is not", but for her tiny missions it doesnt seem to matter, even though they are pretty much nothing but 2 cutscenes in the game.
