this . very true when I read the manga last last year. I honestly think this was a good formula for a great manga.. /anime now. but the latter chapters are just pure awful garbage. what makes me think an anime is great is because of the unpredictability that it has. and Honestly if an anime that has bunch of s3x and such and is very predictable is just downright hentai. Of course his powers looked like an asspull at the start, it was a flashback to his OP past life. He starts over at level one and has to absorb powers for six months while getting creped just to be strong enough to escape. *Edit 3:* The skills he steals have their normal names, like "Recovery, Holy Blade, Battle Sense, Alchemy, Blink, Tranquility." Those scenes are shown because the writer wants you to suffer with the characters to better relate to them and to be immersed in the world, rather than just hearing about it. For example it doesn't feel as personal to hear about the village that was just raided by orcs a week ago, than it is to see it happening to a character you know and whose journey you are invested in.

The series was never designed to be innovative or deep or unique, it has always meant to be a fantasy about a single guy inflicting all sorts of cruel actions on people. @@nazomius7033 You're point kinda completely falls apart when you realise that Light Yagami and his actions were never glorified in the show but the MC of Redo of a Healer was. There's nothing wrong with writing an immoral character, but what is wrong is failing to make it clear that it is not good and/or bending the world around the character to make it look like their horrifying actions are actually justified. The more I think about it the more I realise that comparing this show to Death Note is just kinda terrible as an analysis because Death Note, unlike this show, _was_ going for a philosophical angle and thinking about its implications where as this show just wasn't, that's kinda the whole reason why Death Note works with a Villainous protagonist and this one doesn't unless you're specifically into that sort of thing. All that being said I kinda agree with the sentiment that the show shouldn't be cancelled but I don't use Twitter enough to even know if that's a concern, but with what he talked about in the video it doesn't seem to be at all so this whole point is kinda just unnecessary but to each their own I guess. As a closing statement all I can say is that if it's on TV then children can access it, and if children can reach it then you should probably be more careful of what you glorify

I'm gonna be honest, looking solely at the healing magic system, it's kinda cool to think that there could be a darker side to healing magic, something like causing cells to rapidly die through reversing the healing process or messing with nerve endings. Even memory erasure should be possible, but it also might just make someone braindead instead. I guess that would all fall under necromancy, though, as decay is usually grouped with that.

Frankly the guy making this video doesn't quite catch all the nuances of Keyaru's healing power. When Keyaru heals someone he is forced to relive all their experiences (which is why he kept trying to runaway in the first place); as such it's more realistic that he can copy someone's technique than say someone with the Sharingan casually glancing at someone using a technique. As for changing his and other people's appearance it is well within his power as a healer since all he's doing is breaking the bones down and forcing them to mend in a different pattern. And he's not the first 'healer' to use his power like this; Doctor from Yu Yu Hakusho also used his healing abilities to change his appearance after escaping the police (he also used his powers to create a disease could only be cured through knocking him unconscious or killing him... killing him was actually easier than knocking him unconscious due to the other ways he could use his abilities).

Homcomru I agree with you, the show isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. It’s a show about bad people doing terrible things until they fall victim to another bad person, one that they created. Freya immediately writes Keyaru off after he uses his healing once on someone who’s been injured hundreds of times and currently has a very serious injury. Instead of trying to talk to him, to convince him to push through the pain and help she decides to drug and abuse him. She’s arguably the most “good” person Keyaru exacts revenge on but she’s still a horrible person. Personally, I’m interested in seeing what Keyaru will do once he’s accomplished his goals, he says that he wants to live a happy life but I strongly doubt that. There’s some genuinely interesting things in the series, like how Keyaru’s Healing is used.

A lot of the concepts have some interesting ideas that go completely unexplored in favor of indulging the MC. There's the issue of nature vs. nurture in how the princess is a completely different person once her memory is removed and if her earlier reprehensible behavior was purely due to her absolute power allowing her to pursue her desires completely uninhibited and the toxic environment she was raised in. Imagine the psychological conflict if she ever learns who she was and learns that everything the MC told her was a lie, but the person she used to be is so reprehensible to her now she can no longer accept it, a battle between the Id and the Ego ensues resulting in- Nah, we'll just add her to orgy scene 583. That's the most frustrating thing about this whole story, frankly. You could totally do interesting things with this scenario, but it always goes for the low-brow smut instead of wanting to risk actual themes of trauma and the cycle of abuse.

eh from what I heard the writer originally pretty much took a bunch of tropes and then made it as horrible as possible because he was done writing better stuff and never getting appreciated. Though considering he's from Japan most likely just never got a vacation and a bunch of impossible deadlines he was over with. There's really good revenge stories out there, Redo Of Healer isn't one of them. If you look at I Spit On Your Grave, you see something with a similar premise, but executed so much better. She gets her revenge on the rapists who left her for dead and stops there. Intense emotion from the characters, to the point plot, some gore here and there - everything you need for a good revenge movie/anime. Even in Scamboli's review I get lost in the story. Like, what the hell are they even trying to do here? XD it's just so bad.

About her not remaining evil, I think there are three possible cases for that: 1 - The MC messed with her head as part of her punishment, turning her into a 'good little obedient cum dumpster' only to return her to original once he is done taking down the whole kingdom and gloat while she in her original state is realizing all of that. 2 - It could be part of her redemption arc, so to speak, where he just tweaked her a bit so she is on board with being a member of his party, but since she wasn't under the influence of the kingdom that steered her morality compass into being a bitch she ended up being, now there is a chance for her to actually redeem herself and actually make a sort of a plot twist for the MC. 3 - A combination of the two above! Well, there is also the possibility of the writer simply being shit. :p I agree that the disguises are dumb, though. Like, while I was reading the manga, I literally had to open two different tabs for each of them with their original looks and disguised looks in each, switching back and forth, in order to figure out the differences! Eh, I guess we can excuse that as 'anime logic'. >_>
