Sports Communications major from Clemson here! I loved the conversation about college football and the narratives of sports. Fun fact: the majority of sports fans only have a rudimentary understanding of the sport and don’t actually watch for the technical sport itself. They’re watching for the narrative and the story and the human bond. That’s why, for example, people watch the Olympics for Simone Biles’ comeback when they don’t know the technical score design of gymnastics. Y’all’s discussion is actually a really great conversation, in terms of what sports do for society.

i never asked. i guess since i was 5 & 1/2 weeks early, it was a part of my birth story that i heard every year. like, my dad was a whole state away because he never thought my mom would go into labor so early. so the whole "you came early" thing was just part of the story. and my guess is that like miles' story included the fact he was 2 weeks late and that's how he knows. maybe for those who don't know, you were only a couple days early/late?
