Why do you take it as a way to 'suppress' Buddhism ? Something is said to be suppressed if it is prevented or forbidden, but what is described in the video is how the philosophy preached by Buddha was respected & included as one of the main paths to Enlightenment in Sanatana Dharma(Hinduism). If that is suppression, I don't know what is encouragement 😐 But, if it is the pride of being separate that is the issue, then I think you need to understand Hinduism is actually not strictly a single religion i.e. it is a collection of a lot of ancient philosophical schools which existed in this land, before outsiders came and called people here Hindus. So, Buddhism has its esteemed place here along with other schools like Dwaita, Advaita, Sankhaya, etc. And, since technically Buddha was born in a Hindu king's (Suddhodana) family, I don't think anyone can claim he can't be considered a Hindu Deity as well.

I mean if you see your suffering as you created and you will end it then definitely you will move ahead. But if you keep blaming to something you might not experience..he was talking about those maximum people who haven't realised the ultimate or have felt it He just meant you should not waste your life but trust me he was NOT THE ONLY ONE to say it sanatan dharma had lots of schools and was messed up and already had it in the crux. . hence he gave a straight path to bring back people to reality not to oppose what were they doing his methods weren't agnostic or atheist as people say. He said that everything has an end okay but you are self capable enough to do that sankhya darshan says it as well of sanatan dharma but the difference is adi shankaracharya said it who will judge about it ? who will decide..is there a parameter?? Everything is associated..its dual in nature you sow so you reap but what is the cause and who will start and end it..it will always go on there is no end hence similar fashion.. buddhism sadly had limited answers and it went down you know no philosophy is wrong the thing is people take it wrong and get entangled in stories alone every dharma is scientific..I believe upanishad or vedanta or bhagwat gita is alone enough to tackle every ideology, religion or sect

As to Advaita that would be proposed by both Hinduïsm (Advaita Vedanta) and Buddhism: they are not the same. Advaita (A..-Vedanta) states that one should reach unity with the One, whatever the One may be. Buddhism says there is no One, therefore reaching unity is a non-issue, it cannot be spoken of, there was non-division from the earliest start. We find this most explicitly in the early Mahayanistic Lankavatara Sutra where the issue is discussed at length, possibly as result of philosophical attacks from Advaita (A..-vedanta) scholars in the south of India.

Why do people divide Buddhism from Hinduism? Buddhism is a form of Hinduism both geoculturally and philosophically. To divide them is the same as saying Shaivism or Vedanta and its many schools are something different than Hinduism. One would not say that Judaism, the Islamic faiths or Christianity are not Abrahamic religious. One cannot say that Buddhism, Jainism or Sikhism are not Hindu religions.

Buddha can also be a Guru , who decided to "not to accept ritual or act or performance of some one who acts as mediator between you and an idol ".He felt that " Personal experience by everyone must be very important "-After Buddha , Hinduism accepted this and grew steadily to this date . That is why modern Gurus like Sadguru adopt the same route of Buddha .May be why Buddha decided to use Bali instead of sanskrit could only to make common man believe in him by de sanskritising his teachings. No doubt Sanskrit usage dwindled and spread of Buddhism expanded through continents !!!!!.

Believe in God, or not--who cares... Suffering must still be addressed weather God is real or not. I have been asked, "So, as a Buddhist, do you believe in God?" My answer can now firmly be, "that's irrelevant, it's suffering we need to address weather God is causing it or not."

Also, don't attribute the physical destruction of most prestigious educational centers in Bihar, chief of them being world-famous Nalanda University, to Shankaracharya, since it was done by the Muslim Emperors (e.g. Khilji).
@assamese.maharashtrian5 жыл бұрын
There exists no evidence of Ashoka building 42000 Viharas. The numbers claimed by some fanatic anti-Hindus among Buddhists keeps changing. Some say 42000, some say 84000. Some go as far as saying 8 lakhs. All made up claims. The only source that talks of Ashoka building so many Viharas are the Sri Lankan Pali-Sinhalese hybrid legendary texts like Dipavamsa and Mahavamsa. Even the Ashokavadana written by Taranath doesn't give such a big number. Ashoka may have built hundreds of Viharas for sure... but 42000 is too big a number, and if this claim is even assumed to be true... then it would be DISASTROUS FOR THE ECONOMY at that time. Adi Shankara never killed any Buddhist. It's like saying Gautama Buddha and Ashoka killed all Ajivikas, Charvakas and other extinct Sramana sects just because they were philosophical rivals. Btw, Ashoka did kill Jains and Ajivikas as per the Buddhist legends themselves. Parshurama? ..? Pushyamitra... yes he killed many Buddhist monks... and destroyed Viharas because of Nationalist reasons. Brihadratha Mourya, the last Mouryan emperor, was a Jain and a feeble minded unpopular king, unlike his Jain ancestor the Great Chandragupta Mourya. So Pushyamitra had to kill him in front of the entire Magadha Army, and all soldiers supported Pushyamitra! This occured because it was an emergency. The Greek King Demetrius (Dhammamitra) had invaded Northern India and had reached upto Mathura. Brihadratha didn't have the guts to counter any invaders, and the Buddhists, especially monks, were actually supporting the Greek invader just because he was a Buddhist and the Indian king was a Jain, with his commander-in-chief being a Hindu. So Pushyamitra had to kill the Buddhist traitors of his times, for protecting the nation. After the conflict was over, there is evidence of inscriptions at Sanchi Stupa, where Pushyamitra Shunga has been given credit for renovating the Stupa. This proves that the Shungas weren't Brahminical religious fanatics.

Read the Pali canon, and he's talking about God, including that Brahma talked him into teaching the dharma when after he reached enlightenment he was too depressed to teach it, thinking everyone would be too stupid to understand the dharma, and Brahma convinced him otherwise. The Western Jewish Buddhists have convinced everyone of a lie that Buddha said things he never said, and its easy to see they're liars by just reading.

The Buddha was NOT an Advaitin. First of all, there was no Advaita at the time of the Buddha. During his time, he was arguing against the Brahminical religion of the Vedas. He maintained certain Vedic principles such as karma, rebirth, and samsara, but he was a great reformer of the Indian religious system. Mahavira, the founder of Jainism, was another great reformer. And the Hindu Dharma that emerged after Buddhism was quite distinct from the Vedic ritualism of the preceding epoch.
@assamese.maharashtrian5 жыл бұрын
There was nothing called "Brahmanism" then. The literal translation of Brahmanism would be Brahmana Dharma-- and there was no official, organized or even unorganized religion with such a name. Religion was just called Dharma, and it was denoted by the names of the teachers or the traditions of teachers or deities important. The best word to denote it was Arya Dharma, and everyone including the Buddha considered their discovered interpretation of Dharma as being "Arya" in nature. Also, Vedic ritualism is an incomplete term. The Vedic Dharma was waaay beyond ritualism. Rituals were just celebrations , and by the time of the Buddha, the Vedic religion in it's pure form had almost died of, at least in the regions where the Buddha travelled, i.e. modern day UP, Bihar and Terai. It was "Vamamarga" that was prevalent. Calling the Vedism as ritualistic is equivalent to calling Buddhism nihilistic. I agree, that calling the Buddha an Advaitin or a Vedantist is a biased view which many Advaita Vedantic Hindus have. But the concept exists in the Vedas. The claim of Hindu Dharma being post-Buddhistic doesn't even make much sense. If you mean the coining of the term by the Zoroastrians, who also considered their religion as Arya and Den (equivalent to Dharma), then the term was coined by Darius around the time of the Buddha himself (500 BCE). If you mean the Puranic terms, then still your statement is incomplete. The Puranas in a shorter form already existed among the masses as folklore. Its possible that the compilation of the Puranas as scriptures happened after the Buddha, during the times of the Guptas, but they still had roots in folklore and local legends. It was all refined and reformed continuation, with a lot of diversity. Just like the Japanese native religion of Shinto or the Tibetan native religion of Bon.

People are pathetically linking Buddhism and Hinduism. Both are different religions. 1. Hinduism has propaganda classes like Brahman Kshatriya vaishya shudras on the basis of birth that are artificial. Buddhism doesn't make such distinctions. However, for advanced disciples of Buddhism, abhi dhamma pitak exists. Buddhism doesn't prescribe different punishments and treatments for different classes as existing in the manusmriti of Hindus . Buddhism treats people equally. 2. Buddha never said he was God. In fact , the concept of God is alien to Buddhists . Hindus have 33 "koti" Gods. 3. Buddhism doesn't show you the fear of hell or the greed for heaven. Hinduism is riddled with the propaganda of heaven and hell which NASA couldn't prove . 4. Hindus don't worship Buddha . In fact, most of the Hindus will worship Vishnu , Rama , Krishna etc. It is very rare to find Hindus worshipping Buddha . Their homes don't contain Buddha's idols. 5. Hinduism is based on propaganda shastras that were written by a bunch of extremely smart , but cunning people. There is not one book but many, that contain propaganda against the shudras . Ramayana s shambhuk vadh and Mahabharata sut putra Karna, and Eklavya are just a few of the examples. However, Buddhism gave tripitakas( teachings of Buddha ) and jataka stories ( various births of Buddha, which are just stories , not literal births of Buddha, written by his disciples). 6. One cannot be a Hindu without having a firm belief in Sanatana shastras( Vedas , upnishads, smritis etc ) . However, one can be a Buddhist without having a belief in jataka stories and tripitaka. A Hindu holds his sanatana Dharma shastras as sacrosanct irrespective of the amount of fraud it contains . A Buddhist doesn't need to hold tripitakas and jataka stories as sacrosanct. He is free to reject them if something repugnant is found in them. 7. For Hindus, Vedas are the ultimate books, eternal, without beginning and without end. Nothing is more correct than the Vedas . Vedas cannot be improved or modified. However for Buddhists , tripitakas are not the ultimate books. According to Buddha's teachings, rules may be changed that morally fit best to the situations. In fact, constant improvement forms the basis of Buddhism. The concept of kaizen is borrowed from Buddhism, which is used by the companies worldwide. 8. Hinduism believes that if a person doesn't do his duty as per his / her Varna , he will take rebirth as some animal like pig / worm etc. The concept of rebirth has been utilised to frighten people to do their jobs. However, Buddhism doesn't believe in the version of rebirth as explained in Hinduism. According to Buddhism, rebirth is chemical recycling of elements. So , an organism composed of carbon , hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen etc will take rebirth in another organism in the form of some other compound , according to Buddhism. But a man will become a pig in the next birth is not propounded by Buddhism. 9 . Buddhism doesn't show you the fear of God or fear of hell, whereas the Purana are rife with examples of heaven and hell.

Great concept!!! But ,Does not hold true! Surrender to God! Is only principle in Hinduism!!! Hinduism doesn't make it mandatory to follow holy scriptures! It's necessary to crave for God! To surrender your self to God! But mind that, God is not superior! Love him as you loved one! Your mother or father or brother or son or daughter or husband or wife! As your friend! And love him! All his goodness will enter in you! Don't think that's horrible! Or disease! In Hinduism, God stands for symbol of 'set of principles to live a greater life!! He is symbol of happiness,love!!!Bliss!!! Again, mind it ! Hinduism does not has any rules to follow! Krishna himself tells, Arjun, forget everything,and just surrender yourself to me!

U have mistakenly read Hinduism in place of any abrahmic religion otherwise no one will spread such unwanted messages about hinduism. Hinduism has no such concept of heaven and hell which u r vomiting. Vishwamitra was a kshatriya at first but he used to be called a Brahmarshi after a long austerity bcoz ho hinduism identifies one on the basis of karmA same was the case with asmanjas( he is shudra although born in kshatriya Lineage, ancestor of lord Rama), same was with valmiki rishi also. Val iki ramayan has story till his coronation only. No one knows who has written Uttar Ramayan which has story about subrak Sudra. Neither kamban nor tulsidas made this controversial Uttar Ramayan as the part of their writings. U believe subrak but forgot sabri who had attained salvation after being born in Sudra bhill lineage and was praised by lord Rama, it is said that he ate her leftover berries also. If ram was against shudra's right then why he patronised bhilni sabri and how brahmin Matang rishi taught Vedas and austerity to sabri.read gita and now our lord Krishna helps someone to reach his lord whom someone worships he preaches Arjuna about freedom of worship. Vedas is science not a concept of crooked theory which u r vomiting rest is on u read from which source. Vedas helpful for every moment and period. Your all knowledge shows jealousy towards hinduism

Buddhism is another sub part of Hindu culture. Buddhist people are worshipping to Hindu philosopher as a God. Buddhism is same as Vaishnav or Shaiva panth.
