Oooh chocolate zucchini cake. I’ve never had it but would love to try. Do you use a particular recipe that you could recommend please?

Looks like it’s coming along nicely! I’ve just started a gardening channel myself in SA Aus. You’ve inspired me to get behind the mic and make a start of 2025 garden video!

@@the.bee.friendly.gardener I have a lemon tree (doing poorly atm)!! Would like a Mandarin and Apple tree!! Not sure what variety!! Silverbeet seems to always go well in Adelaide!! I'm in a very big potato growing phase atm so every spare pot is taken up with potatoes!! LOL!!

Nice harvest you had there😅. Was just wondering how you keep your lawn green and lush with Melbourne heat.

Thanks! It’s relatively new turf (only a few months old). A buffalo variety called Viridian Velvet. It probably looks good because it’s new! Ask me in a few years 😅 Also the tall wall and shed on either side shade the lawn for a fair portion of the day.

Your garden is wonderful. Great tour. Im in Horsham, not much luck with beans either, so much dies of heat stroke 😂 Have you heard of Kiwi Berry? (Hardy Kiwi......Actinidia Issai)....grape size smooth skin. Fast to fruit, amazing taste. Packed full of goodness. Gorgeous doggoe. 🐾🥝

Shame about the beans… Yes I’ve been very interested in growing kiwi berry actually! I was thinking of making a trellis between some of the verandah posts of the shed. Do you grow one?

I do! I managed to get 2 from Formosa Gardens in Ballarat. They were quite small, got them about a year or so ago. I have them in pots right now. Would prob do much better in the ground. But they've done well in Horsham....I have to keep them protected from the burning sun here, and I can't believe I have fruit on both!!! One has been sun burnt a bit, hasn't done as well, but I couldn't believe it when they flowered and fruited.....soooooo excited! I know only another gardener would understand such excitement! I've only tasted them once, soooo delicious! They aren't ripe enough to pick yet, and I'm terrorfied the birds and or possums are going to steal my treasure! There's a lady in Portland Oregon ....Parkrose Permaculture, whose got a couple of fabulous videos on them. Yes, as long as they've got something strong to climb on you should do well. Best of luck. Love your videos. Happy New Year.

Can you tell me the variety of the last tomato, sort of pear shape with ridges? Your dog is a cutie.

I believe it is Cuore di bue - an Italian oxheart variety. Though I will double check with my neighbour (who gave me the seedling). Yes, Annie is a big sweetheart.

I pick the whole bunch when just one is going a bit red. The rest ripen fast.
@the.bee.friendly.gardener
@the.bee.friendly.gardener 4 күн бұрын
Ahh interesting! Even if the rest are green? Do you leave the bunch attached to each other to ripen or pick them individually?
@Amateur_Pianist_472
@Amateur_Pianist_472 4 күн бұрын
@ yep when the rest are green! I leave them on the bunch and pick them off only when I’m about to eat them :) saves on labor too.

Looks great! Those tomatoes are beautiful. Why do you grow mostly cherry tomatoes?
@the.bee.friendly.gardener
@the.bee.friendly.gardener 5 күн бұрын
Thank you! I still grow some large tomatoes but I mostly grow cherries because I’ve found them to be more pest resistant. I had trouble with caterpillars for a few years in a row and they seemed to target the large varieties much more.
