Coming from a nurse I HIGHLY recommend Erik gets a sleep study test, I believe there's even ways to get a kit and do it from your own home and have someone read the data after. You 99% likely have sleep apnea, and a CPAP can make the world of a difference, you'll also wake up feeling more refreshed. (Also they aren't all mouth and nose masks, you can get ones that just cover the nose). Once patients start using a cpap (continuous positive airway pressure)they usually can't sleep without it! It's crazy how low people will desat in their sleep every night and that's just their normal. Unless treated it will cause unpleasant current side affects (I.e. fatigue, restless sleeps, etc), as well as long term affects (increased risks for heart attacks, strokes, etc) and generally shorten your life expectancy to a degree. There's actually a lot of people who have sleep apnea and many just don't know
@faeriesandrainbows Жыл бұрын
Yes! My CPAP mask covers just the nose and is pretty unobtrusive to me.
@heathergould8632 Жыл бұрын
My home test showed nothing and an in clinic sleep study showed severe sleep apnea-best to do in a sleep clinic. With the nose coverage you would need to get use to sleeping with your mouth closed-takes a bit of learning.
@calicat1996 Жыл бұрын
@@heathergould8632 absolutely. An at home test is better than nothing, but a sleep test in a sleep clinic is definitely better than an at home test.

As another person in the medical field, I'd like to second your medical evaluation and add that aside from sleep apnea, there are other treatable issues that could be causing snoring such as the anatomy of the mouth and sinuses such as a deviated septum, small jaw, polyps, or enlarged tongue, adenoids, tonsils, or uvula, as well as other things like allergies, nasal congestion, medication, or alcohol consumption.

I really want a paranormal episode too! 💗 But I do agree with Erik about the Ouija Board. @HannahMaltony Жыл бұрын
Hi Colleen and Erik! Dental hygienist here. Snoring is usually caused by an airway issue. I would talk with your doctor about getting a sleep study just to be on the safe side. Although a CPap is usually the best way to treat sleep apnea, there are other options like a mouth guard sleep appliance (different than a night guard). Talk to your dentist too! I love y’all and this podcast so much!

1:13:42 I agree with Erik that you should get rid of the ouija board in your house, and I especially don’t think you should use it (if you kept it). Cutting fingernails for my elderly patients is something that when I’m at work, I’m embraced that I have to do it, there is no disgust, remorse or any bad feelings in general. When it comes to do it on myself, I hate it with my life, nails gross me out so much no matter who it is. But it’s almost like a switch on my brain when I’m working, those things don’t gross me out, and as a CNA I see and smell a lot of things… 😳 outside of work, hate it, gross, I would never. SO hypnosis is cool because you can really only be hypnotized if you’re willing. Erik can be hypnotized if he truly wants to be. You were able to be hypnotized because you were open to it. Hypnosis isn’t someone taking over control of your body, it’s actually just you lowering your mental walls and being more open to their suggestion. You are choosing to do the things they ask you to do, but in the state of hypnosis, if that makes sense.
