I did this with the same brand he used and it worked great! The only thing I suggest is using A LOT LESS than what he used! Also I stayed away from the speakers and port on the bottom of the phone so I wouldn’t have to rinse anything off. If you put a very small amount of the stuff it still works perfectly and quick and still does a great job of getting rid of scratches! I didn’t damage or scratch my screen or have water damage since the product didn’t even touch the screen (since there was so little) and I didn’t get it in any port or anything. Love that I can polish my iPhone back to new!

I've had my Space Grey since launch day and my frame is impeccable. Mind you, I've had it in the Apple leather case, but it still leaves the bottom exposed, which has zero scratches. That being said, my screen does have some micro scratches, which obviously can't be buffed out.

Good to hear! My dad has two space grey models and they've held up reasonably well. One has a tiny chip in it but that's it. He's probably a tad more careful than I, however. They're at least in cases.

Just tried this and it worked perfectly!! I purchased the Mother’s Mag and a microfibre cloth and polished all the tiny scratches off my silver iPhone 11 Pro. So thankful that I bought the silver one because it seems like even with a case, the sides still get small scratches here and there. Thanks for this video, it really saved the day!

I have a few scratches on the back of the device, but my screen has somehow remained spotless. It's certain, however, that their new glass they've opted in for has traded scratch-resistance for higher flexibility. Doesn't break as easily but scratches more. An interesting trade-off.

What he says about not being able to Polish space grey is true, but I’ve had my space grey iPhone X since launch day and it’s stainless steel doesn’t have a mark on it. I didn’t use any case for about a month and since then have swapped around between apples leather case and a totallee case that I’ve had on the majority of the time. None of the cases have left a mark despite people I know with silver ones being marked up with fine scratches by the totallee case. And the buttons, which have been exposed for all but a few weeks since launch, still look pristine. I’m really anal about this sort of stuff and it’s part of why I chose sg to begin with. Just because they didn’t use the super high end process doesn’t mean it’s not Damn good. In day to day use you’re not likely to notice any problems if you’re not being wreckless. No clue how people beat the crap out of theirs in those pictures.

Yeah, sorry. PVD is tricky. The newer, pricier DLC can't be polished either, but it is far stronger and changes the chemical composition of the steel and so it doesn't wear down as easily. Not commonly polished to a high shine, however.

Hi Quinn, the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S as far as I remember had a stainless steel chassis as well. I remember after a drop with no case on tiles my iPhone 4s barely had any dent, not to mention screen and back glass totally unscarred. I think that was the best design they ever made. It was black but you didn’t need to worry about colour scratching from the metal bands because they were raw metal with no coating and matte so not even scratches like in the case of the iPhone X, and if you shuttered the back it was a very easy replacement for £26 in the UK. Back then it looked really good and it was built like a tank. I wish they’d go back to the same materials and finish choices so it’d look good with no case for years, instead of always being paranoid on how I handle my iPhone 7.

Anyone know if the 12 Pro still uses the same coating as the space grey X? I have a lot of scratches around the charge port on my 12 Pro.

It happened that some metal polish was left in the mesh inside the sound grill, and I cleaned it with soft bristle brush but the mesh was pushed a little inside, is there anything I can do to pull the mesh back?

Thanks for this video, i just ordered me some Mother's mag and Aluminium polish for my iphone x a few days ago and so it should be here today. But i'm so careful with my devices weather it's a phone, ipad, laptop anything technology related especially. I don't know how i got scratches and blemishes, i'm someone who always uses a case and a glass screen protector, so clearly cases don't protect your phone and devices like you'd hope! So i'm going basically case-less! I also ordered a Tozo ultra thin case, it's thin like paper and so it's basically having nothing on my phone but it will protect from scratches that's about it but i'm not opting for drop protection i have a glass screen protector on the front and one on the back and a camera glass protector i am sure i'm all set =)

KindLieb I haven’t tried polishing my whole phone but I got some on the glass of the front and back and both have glass screen protectors and there’s no damage so I mean I don’t think it will hurt it but I’m not suggesting to try it either. But it didn’t hurt my phone

Yeah I was trying to polish mine with tooth paste, because some article said that it could also run away the scratches. Now I have it scratchier than ever :D Maybe I should try those polishing pastes out...

Thanks, my mi 6 had a black coating over its stainless steel which I took off and while I nearly got it quite shiny with sandpaper, this'll help!

Plus these phones are durable, I hit mine with pretty rough sandpaper and there's still no scratches from it on the glass or antenna bands, this cream won't do anything bad
