When i started getting into fitness Chloe Ting's videos were great. While you're saying that you wouldn't feel any burn, for someone starting out, you definitely do, i couldn't finish her routines i was so exhausted. I definitely don't think they're for gym junkies, but they're amazing for starting out, and getting you into a routine. They're also good to get you moving when you don't have time for the gym. You’re right. As a woman who had never worked out, I tried them for 2 weeks. I thought my endurance and strength would be average since I was slim and got double my daily steps in due to my job, however even her beginner workouts had me sweating buckets after finishing them. I was so sore and exhausted after the 1st week even though I did a warm up & cooling down and everything. I definitely saw a difference in muscle when I took result pictures and that was only after 2 weeks. Made me gain mad respect for heavier ladies who have succeeded her workouts, they’re not for the weak imo lol.

But did she lose weight from these exercises or from being in a calorie deficit. The intensity of these exercises is so little the amount of calories you actually burn is in the 100 maybe maxium 300 calorie range. You would make more progress just skipping desert once a day or 3-4 times a week according to current diet then doing these exercises every single day. An entire set of her workouts is essentially just a warm up-not a work out. Not only that if she is breast feeding and not eating enough her body will catabolize to get the nutrients

@@district4promo609 Weight loss for everyone happens mostly due to calorie deficit. Even my gym session burns max 300 calories. The exercises helped my sister a lot because she was stuck at home with the baby 24/7. Couldn't even go out for a short walk without having to pack a million things for the baby. And if you've ever gone from being completely sedentary to active, you know it doesn't just affect the calories burned. Absolutely love Chloe. Her website is very helpful. Her average daily workouts are up to an hour and programs last for about a month. She DOES provide dieting tips and recipes as well. So, if you keep eating junk food and complete ONE 10-MINUTE VIDEO a day, no wonder you get no results. And yes, her target audience is overweight women, not sportsmen. She encourages using resistance bands and dumbbells when you`re ready. I personally use weights on my ankles to raise the efficiency of her "simple" workouts and it`s never that easy peasy for me.

Love the gentle approach. I never did her workouts, but i started out with something similar a few years back. I was a bit out of shape and not doing any sports for a while, so even 10 minute HIIT workouts with only bodyweight movements have left me breathless. After a while, i started to add weights to some of the movements and i did not feel like dying after the 10mins anymore. Then i bought more weights and used the same 10 minute workout as a finisher after ~30min light weight training. Now i don't do them anymore, but i created a workout routine at home and i was able to significantly increase the max weights i'm using. Channels like hers are helping many ppl to find back into their fitness routines and to enjoy movement again.

Most people follow Chloe to get started or to simply lose weight, which is exactly what her usual videos are helpful for. She never claimed you'd get super shredded because of her and she's very adamant on how results can vary over time. Her titles are to draw people in, but when you watch her reacting to the people posting their own results you'll notice she actually tells you straight up that what she puts in her titles is impossible. In fact she's always quite surprised when people get above average weight loss. For bulking up or strength training her videos aren't great, but then again she doesn't claim they are either.

You can say her video titles are to draw people in but telling people they can have abs in two weeks contributes to a very skewed perception of what is actually possible. Wven if you say later *outside of the video* that you were deceiving them to get them to watch a video that might improve their life. I don't watch her videos but what is she even claiming then if the title of the video isn't true? She presents a very approachable entry into fitness and a lot of the comments are testifying to that, but I think people are giving her too much leeway there. She's just doing what everyone else does to boost engagement and clicks - promise big changes in a short span of time that damage their perception of what is normal.

"which is exactly what her usual videos are helpful for." If it contains incorrect information, no it's not. The very thing that is useful for any beginner to learn the correct technique. More about learning what's right, than doing long hour sessions. The other thing is being hyprocritical because you know she doesn't do these daily and only does enough for make enough footage to cut the video. Otherwise you would see the body in tone, which is clearly not. I'm not even talking about being shredded, just toned up from daily exercises, she is not in anyway.

The first video Dr. Mike showed is actually the exact video of Chloe’s that I watch at the end of every gym session. So I’m probably 1,000,000 of those views 😂 (more like 300) When I first started the challenge, about a year after having a baby, it was hard, I was dying. I couldn’t do the whole 10 mins without resting in between. After about two weeks, the workout was a breeze. Did I get abs? No. I did see a physical change in my whole upper body(back, abdomen, and even arms). If I continued the workout for months and months while incorporating proper diet and nutrition, with also weight lifting, I believe I would have achieved the goal of “abs”. But I didn’t, I am not consistent with ab workouts or proper diet. In all, Chloe Ting has helped a lot of people get back into the gym while focusing on fitness. Thanks Chloe and Dr. Mike!

Mike's audience is aspiring bodybuilders who have generally plateaued and want science based approaches to get through that, which is a relatively small demographic. Most KZbin influencers try to appeal to as broad of a base as possible, and regularly cut corners on the truth for the sake of views. I really doubt Chloe's audience wants to hear that they should be eating at a 400 calorie deficit with a high protein intake over a 12 week cycle. They just want some magic fix, that's not based in any science.

Just want to put in a word of appreciation for Chloe 😊 She introduced me to the world of fitness and although now her programs become a bit too easy for me, I was already drenched in sweats during the warm up part of her program in the beginning of my journey. She's how I got into fitness in 2020 in college! It's really a decent start for just learning how to move your body and dip your toe into having scheduled fitness sessions. When i could do her videos with ease, I moved to Caroline Girvan. Love her structure and dumbbell work! I very much agree with everything you said but I think one point you made should be emphasized: if you are truly obese or have never began your fitness journey, this is not a bad place to start. Just moving your body and learning to enjoy moving around is hugely important at first, and intense exercise often scares newcomers away bc it leaves them so wiped out. In short, I think your target audience is vastly different and what she’s doing is very helpful to the average out of shape person.

Chloe's movements from the beginner level video require mobility that may not be obtainable for obese people. @@John-cd9jifor obese people the most important thing is to get the diet in order. No amount of exercise will fix a bad diet. That's why I actually support these weight loss jabs. When you get that big you just need to get the weight off by any means necessary. This will make all forms of exercise much more possible and if they stick to the lifestyle changes they will see the weight stay off once the drugs stop.

I think most of her viewers are aware that doing one 15min video for 2 weeks won't give them amazing abs. She also always stated that the best results are from her programs, where you have a daily playlist of different videos. When I first started I was super out of shape and HATED exercising and now it’s something I look forward to. Starting out I was miserable trying to get the workouts done throughout her programs, but now to see how I have progressed and do feel stronger, certain moves that used to be dreaded are now done with way more ease but still a good burn. It’s a good feeling. I’ve continued to do her workout programs, but with a little more intensity to stay active and in shape. Not something I do to “progress my gains” though. Just like living an active lifestyle…. Love your videos ❤️ I’ve even taken some of the things you’ve said in the past videos you’ve done and modified certain moves to get a better burn during her programs.

My gf used to tell me abt chloe ting workouts and i was always pretty dismissive. The nice thing about her is she isnt malicious like a lot of other fitfluencers. Her workouts arent necessarily bad... They just lack any form of intensity. You cant clown on her too hard for just trying to share some of her workouts and help people to get moving. I think its better that people who would otherwise not workout at all, see her stuff and do get a little bit of activity. Unfortunately even more intense versions of this genre of fitness arent as effective as progressive overload weight training so this extremely paired down version is pretty useless. People say its at least good for cardio but youd probably be better off just walking not even on incline for the same amount of time.

I did Chloe's workouts quite a bit a few years ago and they were an entryway into the world of fitness for me. I have had 5 kids and between each pregnancy her videos helped motivate me to get back into my workouts, particularly at a time in my life I am unable to go to a gym, with young kids and all. I still do home workouts to this day but moved on from Chloe and doing strength training, pilates and hiit because they are the most enjoyable for me. I have to follow along with a workout otherwise i find it extremely boring. On my personal fitness journey I guess I could say Chloe lead me to Dr Mike

No abbs, though slim. No sweat though moving. She ticks some important boxes. 1) You don't get "accidentally muscular" like some women are afraid of (probably the mayor reason to avoid progressing). 2) She does not demand any serious effort from her viewers.

Mike you are not her audience. Her workouts are for woman, mostly who are beginners at fittnes, not for gym bros. She is realy nice, positive, her workouts don't requier any equipment and they do help. They will not do anything for you but for someone trying to lose weight they will do wonders, same for someone who is normal weight but never excercies. Doing that type workout is better than none. And we don't have all same fitness goal, nor is man and woman body same. She have that many views and sucribers because woman love her and her workouts, not because male simp over her.

As someone who was on her discord? No. A majority were young women looking for community and to get into fitness during covid. Some of them as young as 12 others as old as their 60s, but predominantly women who were afraid weights and fitness would turn them into Dr. Mike. Chloe is very beginner friendly, and -despite males seeing gym clothes and losing any capacity for reasonable thought- many young women find her aspirational.
