A lot of chatelains et chatelaines are connected to each other because of the UK Tv shows " Chateau DIY" and "Help! We Bought a Village" so that accounts for a lot of the support for The Brits. Most of those people seem super nice and also enjoy comparing notes (esp in the recent stormy weather) I am sure they'd like to hear from you. For the next Q&A, would be interested in how much you paid for the chateau, how long it took you to find it, how you found it, why Brittany..the usual questions. Also, how non-EU citizen Americans would expect to handle health insurance and residency. Thanks for showing what it's realistically like to renovate a chateau without lots of help, even if you don't have British accents :)
@k.j.24812 жыл бұрын
I think the Brits might be overwhelmed with the American sarcasm. It makes me laugh, because as a person from the Midwest, I couldn't imagine living in San Francisco, but France makes sense. Your home is really Big, and the surrounding area is large with other buildings. The definition of a chateau was great, live the life and you learn the correct meanings. The best way to find out what you like is often done by checking off the things you don't like or want. If you both look at that way, then I believe you're a success at being a chateau owner in France.
@suzieq29582 жыл бұрын
OH, are You saying Amanda and Lincoln are sarcastic?? how very dare you! 😂Um is that because we're so shy and quiet?! lol no, I think one enjoys a sense of humour or not - it all depends on the person not the country .... just my humble opinion. 😊

I find your channel much more relatable than the other chateau shows. Don't get me wrong, I still watch them but I find your chateau more to my liking. What I like is that you don't have your hand out with a Patreon account (and trying to sell 110 euro candles). I find it a bit shameless for the others to ask for money when they are living in a castle. I also admire that you respect your daughters privacy....good on you. You are very busy working almost every day- your children, your large-scale renovations, your large-scale gardening, your animals. That is more than most of us have. With a busy work life, we are all limited in how much we have time to socialize. Therefore, in my opinion, that is why many of us don't have so many friends. It is better to find the time for the family members and few friends we have. It is awesome to see the life that your family has chosen- definitely my kind of life.

Hey Guys, Just saw ur latest episode" FAQs" and had to laugh out loud when U asked, If YOUR Channel would BE more succesfull if you presented your projects with a British accent? 😁I myself am German and can not follow the other channels in parts, because the spoken dialects are often cruel...with you, however, one understands every word! Your channel is my favorite because you don't talk for hours to generate any content. You do not howl around, that viewers please, please should become patreons, so that you can sit in the dry...because the larmoyance of some channel operators can be quite annoying. WHAT I would like to see: more frequent episodes and also information about how time-consuming some projects or work were/are! Again thanks, that you are Sharing YOUR experiences with us ( much better than any crime series or chainsaw massacre!😁).Stay tuned and keep up the good work!!

I don't envy you having a chateau. What I do envy is your relationship, that you're almost always together as to what to next, and most especially that your girls will grow up in FRANCE, great education if only 4 days a week (how do they do THAT ?), be civilised, polite, safe, well-behaved in restaurants, bi-or trilingual. How I wish we could have stayed the first time my ex-husband was transferred here from New York. The children and I would be completely different people--even if they decided to go to university in the US (California where we wound up/they still live. Californicated.). But they're still more or less fluent, and also in Spanish as the ex- was trransferred to Madrid for 4 years, and our children attended British and International schools with Spanish, French and LATIN every day. In my next life, I'll marry a man capable of love rather than a perverted narcissist psychopath. Ahhh. When can I DIE ? I'll also have land enough forr tons of our furry and hairy bébés, and DONKEYS with their sweet faces and long long eyelashies ! Check out an old movie, cartoon, called SMALL ONE. It's about the little donkey who carried Mary to the stable. Mouchoirs (hankies). You'll have to buy it somehow as it's not even on youtube.

I enjoyed this Q & A ...I feel like I know you both better - I had assumed that your children were perhaps older and perhaps the older girl away at college or ??? - now I know they would rather remain out of the videos and its all understood and as a mother of two, grandmother of three...with girls..I believe its SAFER for your children to remain out of the videos. Its tooo much information about "ladies/girls" ages, where they live, are they ever there alone,etc. This world is sooo scarey now, seems like more than ever - I'm 74 yrs. old and I'm very leary about my "girls". Sorry, I got carried away about "social medias" anyway, thank you for this video..carry on the good work shared with us to entertain us. Love you loving the animals !

What a beautiful entrance that winter landscape is just gorgeous, I'm sure its very cold for you guys not used to the European winters, although San Francisco can get quite cold as well.

Love it: Do you miss the US? Ive been living in southern Germany for 20 years and still say Target first! And the outlet mall, and hobby lobby! ( of course family too but like u said, they come to visit. Do look into solar, sooner rather than later. We covered our carport and its great. You sell back what you don’t use - so nice to get that mailbox money! We are also interested in wind but the technology for residential is not quite there. We’ve switched to electric cars (something my family cannot or will not understand) and are really pleased. The French system is very developed for ecars.

I just have to say that the two of you have found a warm place in my heart. I love your personalities and the way you complement one another. You are animal lovers ❤️ and my kind of gardeners. Poly tunnels are functional but extremely ugly. Your chateau is truly my favourite out of all the others on KZbin. In another life, it is exactly what I would choose. I so enjoyed the questions and answers. Love from New Zealand. xx
