Having an issue where my tread+ shuts down at high speeds. Looking into it we discovered the movers who packed our stuff crushed the connector pieces on the cables that runs from the monitor to what I presume is the motor. Any word on where to get replacement cables or what type of cable connector head to replace them with? Peloton said to replace the whole bottom. Seems pretty unnecessary.

Hey Dominic. I believe everything in the upper part of the machine runs to the main control board in the center of the deck. Then the motor is controlled from there. Where did the wires get crushed? There is a design flaw in the elbow of the right side support that makes it difficult to put the cover plate on without mashing cables. If you confirm that the cables are damaged/severed internally I would probably try cutting them and soldering in a new section of wire vs. trying to replace the entire wiring harness.

@@charlieaf92Good to know. The male and female connectors were crushed at the bottom right . I was thinking of just cutting the connectors off and getting replacements to put on, I just don't know what to get. Could be worth just taking the whole cable that runs down with me to the store.

@@thebluesteel90 I'd take some pictures of them and go to the store with that - or if you're pretty comfortable soldering note the wire locations for both sides and cut them off and take the plugs to find matches. It will be a lot easier doing it that way vs. pulling the entire wire run out. To get the lower one you'll need to at the very least flip the Tread over and remove some slats - at worst you'll need to take the entire belt off.

@charlieaf92 do you have picture or video showing the main control board location in the treadmill deck? I am getting a mcb error message and wanted to check out the control board. Thank you.

Yup, I do actually! Here is a link to the picture. It is located in the back 1/3 of the machine and is accessible from the top. There is a plastic panel that covers it, being held in place by about 16 or so screws. I believe you can get access to it but removing some of the individual slats rather than removing the entire tread belt. www.dropbox.com/s/6ytwc89qhj11f1a/peloton_tread_control_board.JPG?dl=0

heat those type of bearings up in an oven... 320 deg and don't waste time... get it slid on quick.. if it doesn't fall right on use gentle taps

I had the same noise problem on my tread. I heated/cooled the drive belt several times over a period of a week. As I used the tread in the next two weeks the noise subsided . It's been over a couple of months and the tread performs well without any chirping rubbing sound. I agree with you that the noise was probably motor tolerance related. I have talked to several other people who had the same problem and they confirmed that the noise went away on its own. Perhaps the drive belt has to given some time to "break in" and naturally stretch. My only concern would be that the motor might be irreversibly damaged in the meantime. But so far, it appears that for at least some people, that simply waiting it out and giving the belt time to stretch naturally is working.
