It is awesome that someone like you comes on KZbin as I am in a Biomed program. It is a damn shame that someone is trying to ruin it for me trying to get a feel for the environment and set myself up for the field I am about to dive into. Maybe a few years from now you can look back and see how this was actually a blessing in disguise. Don't stop.

I’m now retired from being a Biomed for about 45 years. I was also a site instructor for Biomed students for 18 years. This is an exciting job for someone that likes working on equipment and you are always learning something new. I feel the advancement in this job is limited to what you want to achieve in the profession. I may be retired, but still give hands on talks on ventilators at a Biomed course taught at a local college. Your doing some nice videos and bringing awareness to the profession. In all the years in the profession, someone would ask what does Biomed Department do?

I found your videos a couple of days ago and really appreciate what you are doing. I’ve been in the biomed field for 20 years now and your videos do help. You have some people that try to make themselves look better by dragging others down any way they can. What a lot of them don’t understand is that safety is the number 1 priority in our job and to insure that the device is operating with in the OEMs guidelines. As a biomed you have the right to pull a piece of equipment if it is out of compliance or not functioning correctly. To be a good biomed, you will have to learn a few things. One is never take anything personal; doctors yelling or nurses screaming, it’s going to happen but you can not take it personally. Second thing is always be respectful, no matter what. Third item is documentation, I can’t stress this enough. If you have everything probably documented, from a corrective maintenance problem to a pm this will save you a lot of headaches. You will have to understand that some, but not all, administrators and directors will look at these situations as “ They the Medical Staff make money and you the Biomed cost money.” So naturally who do you think they are going to believe. That is why proper documentation is extremely important in our field. There will be times when you feel like you are doing more paperwork than turning wrenches, but it’s better to CYA than not have a leg to stand on especially when you are having to defend your actions. I am not trying to discourage anyone that maybe considering this field, but knowing is half the battle, because Us old wrench turners want you to be prepared.

Man i'm glad you made this video I've been watching a few of your vids and the one with the liquid on the floor. I lost my aerospace job a few months ago still unemployed. And man.. looking back I really was just put into some really nerve wracking situations where this manager I had would just keep putting me down and making me feel bad about myself. When I was doing the job like just kept attacking me then making me feel better in this cycle of abuse, and I just blew the lid I got so angry one day and things got out of hand at my job eventually got fired by another manager that took over. Yeah man.... I can relate a little on that feeling of just people not getting it and understanding.

Hey man you do some great work. Watching your videos have helped me at times when trying to sort through Medical equipment issues. Don’t stop! You really put out a lot of info that needs to be heard and you shine a light on a job field that has very little info out about it.

I absolutely love your videos, and channel. They give a better understanding for the field, and your biomed stories are fun but also educational. Especially the OR video HR was concerned about... as a newbie with zero hospital experience, it's reassuring to be told it's okay to stick to our guns when we're doing the right thing. I haven't been into the hospital as a biomed yet, but I already feel like these videos have made me a "better biomed". You are awesome I have been working as a biomedical technician since 1984 and the politics in hospitals can be devastating. I have been teaching biomedical technicians for approximately 20 years. I will probably teach for as long as I can but will retire as a biomed in 4 or 5 years but am glad to see people like you take up the mantle of real life education for the future generations of biomedical professionals. You keep making great videos and remember HR is evil 😊

i would like to say that being a biomed is realy hard. from what you just experienced and what i'v seen throughout my internshipes. doctors with all due respect, have that sort of ego and think that evrey measure that a biomed is tacking regarding safty or bad manipulation habits ... is some sort of intentional nuisance. and thats the grey area where it comes to what belongs to me and what i have responsability apon. see im from morocco im 23, for a 3th world country, we have like enough medical equipement to make a hospital run smouthly but sometimes it turns to a kindergarten when surgeons get obsessive over a peice of equipement like a todler would be over a toy. i would like to thank you for the great content, i was realy curious about work environment in other countries. and surely turning me into a better biomed

Been in the field for 12+ years and I enjoy your videos. It's a shame someone even went through all that hassle to report you. Keep moving forward and take positives with you. Don't let those who don't understand our field ruin this for you and us your viewers/subscribers. With that said I have a request, as I have interns every semester I like to have them do research or brush up on knowledge that they will actually use in the field. Could you post How To videos of, performing electrical safety, point to point and how to determine leads 1-3 on a EKG/ECG Einthovens triangle. The basics. Thanks for your videos 👍
