Reset Brother Printer Low Toner Alert and Make That Printer Print!

This video shows how to reset the "Low Toner Alert" on a Brother MFC-9130CW laser printer. This allows you to override the alert and to continue printing with the printer. Many toner cartridges still have some toner left in them since the printer doesn't directly measure the toner. Instead it uses a page counter to estimate when a toner cartridge needs replacement. Overriding the alert allows you to take control of your printer, continue printing, and use up any remaining toner.

This worked like a charm and I'm very grateful. It makes me so angry that these printers are designed to stop operating when you are out of color even if you're printing in B&W. It is an obvious money grab to force you to buy more ink. This technique is clearly not meant for the general user so I'm glad you were able to share it with us. Thank you!
