5:55 Besides, even if Palpatine DID lose on purpose, nobody seems to realize that Windu was holding back as well. He wasn't trying to kill Sidious during the duel, only to disarm and apprehend him. He only intended to kill Sidious after Sidious unleashed his Force lightning at him and Windu realized Palpatine was far too powerful (both politically and with the Force) and dangerous to keep alive.

Your comment is something, I've said since the movie! Mace intentions was to arrest Palpatine and not hurt him. That went out the window after Palpatine killed his friends and kept shooting lighting at Windu. Mace said, F that! He is too dangerous to be left alive with him having control of the courts and the Senate.

@@chrismlone Palpatine was going all out to kill Windu and Yoda! He knew initially, Windu intentions wasn't to harm him! That changed quickly! From the start, Palpatine was trying to kill Yoda because he knew Yoda wasn't there to arrest him like Windu but to kill him!

Mace also had a very unique Force ability known as “Shatterpoint” to which he just needed to be close to his opponent and he could find his weaknesses. Vader’s suit may have augmented his strength, but decreased his speed and maneuvering abilities. If Obi-Wan could win using Soresu, (though he used a Sith technique to cut Vader’s limbs off), and Starkiller could win using a hybrid form, Mace would have won with Vaapad.

This is the one that pisses me off. How could someone so in tune with the force, a lightsaber master with no equal, get his hand cut off by a lesser darth vader? I get that it was a "cheap shot", but Mace already suspected Anakin, even in this vide you can see him side eye Anakin. No way in hell did he get the drop on mace, just not happening.

I would say it’s the complete opposite Vader would crush mace. The scaling for Vader is far above Mace windu I think there is some glazing going on between him in the sidous fight. Mace almost got beat by ventress and admitted he could lost if she used both sabres. Vader even scales past yoda by rotj

Naw, windu beat Sidious in revenge of the sith. The Sidious we see in comics and darth vader is farrrrr stronger. The sith became wayyyy stronger after the fall of the Jedi both because of the force being tilted towards the dark, and all the knowledge that was accumulated after the fall of the Jedi.

Yeah, I agree, Vader would get destroyed by Vace. If Vader can't beat Obi-Wan he stands no chance against Windu. Mace would just use Vaapad to reflect the dark side back at Vader, until he eventually gets mad and makes a mistake out of anger.

Vader has been established in canon as the best duelist in Sith history. Sidious is also superior to Windu, just look at how calmly he defeated Maul and Savage without commitment at times. And yes Sidious deliberately let himself be beaten by Windu simply if Sidious had decided to defeat him he would have used the double lightsaber it was unexpected for Anakin's arrival. Obviously all this is just my thoughts, having said that, excellent video. ​@@RetneysHolocron
