I love how throughout the Clone Wars, you can see how Anakin’s getting closer and closer to being powerful enough to killing Dooku

@@alecjackman2655 Yeah. And thing is, he didn’t! During their duel on Naboo, you can see that although he wouldn’t admit it, Dooku was genuinely struggling against him.

​@alecjackman2655 People headcanon that Dooku was holding back even though the literal point of the fight was Sidious testing how much Anakin had grown and if he was ready to surpass Dooku and become his strongest apprentice. The novel also makes it clear Dooku didn't stand a chance against Anakin's darkside power.

Anakin and Obi-Wan really were two halves of the same warrior. In the novelisation of RotS, you can see how Kenobi was occupying Dooku, allowing Anakin to press the attack.

Even though The novelization came first, this idea by Obi Wan is shown to be something he would do on two other occasions. Even though the Kenobi series a hot mess one thing that was good about it was the final duel where in it you can see Obi Wan entering with a form 3 position but ends up using Anakin’s old style instead. There’s also rebels where he baits Maul into thinking he’s choosing the same lightsaber form as his old master Qui Gon, with form 4.

What would have been the best? If Dooku was kneeling about to be beheaded, and before Anakin can kill him, screams out, HE'S MY SITH MASTER, HE'S THE SITH LORD! Could you imagine? Or even better, Dooku wanted Obi Wan to join up, could you imagine him giving up Sheev right there on the spot and all three of them trying to kill Sidious? That would have been wild!

This perfectly describes the pure blind arrogance of Dooku. Much like his fighting style, his thinking was too linear. He truly believed that Makashi combined with his force powers alone would assure him victory. He failed to realize that by incorporating elements of the other saber forms into one’s fighting style, not only were you unpredictable but far more lethal. I’m so tired of hearing of ppl saying Dooku is the greatest duelist ever. Dooku may have been a skilled duelist during his time, but he never fought a full fledged war like Anakin and Obi wan. The Clone Wars was the perfect opportunity for them to truly hone their forms whilst Dooku stayed mostly behind the scenes. In the end, it cost him his life.

Dooku made Obi-Wan and Anakin look incredibly sloppy and foolish fighting him on Obadia. Obi-Wan’s offense was slow and off balance. Anakin’s defense was weak and predictable. 😅 Dooku didn’t even use Dom-Mock to taunt them. Because his Makashi was incredibly effective and graceful. Had he wanted to kill them he could have been successful, but the Pike Syndicate was firing their blasters at him and Makashi is weak at repelling blaster bolts. So after he was able to kill their leader he made a brilliant escape.

Obi-Wan was totally out matched. I don't know about Anakin, especially since Dooku was tricked. Anakin should have listened to his instincts, but then surely Sidious would have killed Anakin. I think it would have been nice to see a real fight between Dooku and Anakin, but it would have been awesome to see Anakin vs Sidious, even though Sidious would have won. No way Anakin could have beat Sidious, but he would have most likely been beaten by Dooku. Dooku vs Sidious, now that would have been awesome.
