Oh it was hard to miss the dirty looks Anakin shot at the Lars as he walked passed them, carrying his mothers body. He was PISSED at them. Hayden did such a great job with the expression on his face as he looked at each of them.

He couldn't be angry with Cleig though. The man tried to rescue his wife with help from other farmers, but they were overpowered by the Tusken Raiders and most of them were brutally killed with Cleig surviving but having his leg chopped off. This was explained in the novel. He tried ever so hard to save her and later died from a broken heart.

@@dragondude9637 yeah, i read the novel, i remember that part. How hard they tried to save her. But my point is, I dont think Anakin knew the full details (in the movie he just got a rushed explanation from Cleig), or even CARED. I mean, if it was me, i wouldnt be caring about people babbling off weak explanations when my mother just died. All i would be feeling is grief and anger.

Luke knew that his Aunt and Uncle were killed by The Empire. I'm sure he figured out Darth Vader gave the order. In ESB when Luke faced Vader for the first time that's why he was fearless because in Luke's mind Vader murdered his Father, Aunt and Uncle, killed his best friend Biggs at the battle of Yavin and also watched him kill Obi Wan on the Death Star. But he was also vengeful which worried Yoda and Obi Wan. Also he wasn't ready for his trials finding out Darth Vader was his father.

Instead of looking away and crying, this mf stared right at their burned bodies and accepted their fate and chose his path as a Jedi. Luke was incredibly mentally strong way before Bespin or Vader’s redemption. The dude was metal from the start.

I don't think Luke's feelings would have swayed differently in one way or another! At this point in time, Luke wa under the assumption that his father was dead and he was clearly frustrated with Owen! Let's not forget that Owen and Beru were distant memories of Vader as he also had zero idea that he had any children! Even if Vader did know, his anger outweighed everything and he would've done the same

There is no doubt in my mind that Anakin really blame them for his mother's death. This bitterness and resentment carried over to when he finally became Darth Vader. It wasn't enough that Vader ordered their deaths but his resentment got worse once he found out about Luke being his son and the fact that he was raised by the Lars. In Vader's mind, the Lars family made his son weak and he hated them for it. I believe while Vader for sure still blamed Obi-Wan as well, the Lars earned his most contempt. Makes me wonder what Vader would had done to his step-father had he not died of old age.

might have very well died with them. vader didn't know about luke yet at the time, and it'd be safe to assume that he was their kid. Or maybe he'd feel guilt and relate to a kid losing their "parent" somewhat similar to how he did, thus not going through with killing any of them. That would depend though, because Vader can be quite unpredictable when it comes to similarities with his past.

It would have been hard though to hear of the kidnap & then death of his mother in brutal circumstances. Hard for anyone to take. Having the traumatic loss of Princess Diana has affected Harry & William differently

I think Luke would forgive if he found out like Leia that unlike them, their father did not have a real family, a happy childhood, and he became so because of improper upbringing on the part of both the Jedi and the Sith. Even without knowing how to be a father properly and how to act from the point of view in the usual way for all cases. And he thought he was right to bring order to the galaxy by acting like a man with psychological trauma from childhood. Although such consequences could have been avoided with the right approach to Anakin's training. Especially by training him as a grey Jedi. Or Windu could have trained the boy to control the dark side, to use it for good, as well as his style of fencing created by Mace. Although Enakin always wanted to live a normal life with family and friends, continuing to be a pilot and mechanic, understood, loved, happy next to people who were ready to help him when he needed their advice and support.

He seemed to have accepted that once Anakin became seduced by the Dark Side, he took on a Sith Lord name, as did Ben Solo who was attracted to the Knights of Ren & gave up his light Force side. Obi Wan completely gave up at his failure & felt he had no choice but to use his assumed name. Is there any more about the Knights of Ren anywhere?
