Labocosmetica has offered a physically resistant coating for quite a while now ( blindo ). Anyway most premium coatings perform similarly, and nothing will protect paint from "snow brush" scratches other than ppf

I have 3 month old CQ Finest Reserve. Can this be added on top of Finest Reserve for extra scratch resistance? Or only the other way round?

The reason CQuartz Finest Reserve or CQuartz Professional is being added on top of DQuartz to top add slickness and additional gloss, DQuartz doesn't have the same slickness or gloss. Since the CQuartz Finest Reserve is cured now I don't see why you could not add DQuartz on top, of course after proper prep. The product is very new so we have only done the first stages of using and testing it at this point, it has only been out a few weeks.

Little late to the party of the Diamond coatings. Diamond protech changed the game by only needing 1hour for Diamond 36 before it can get wet and Zero cure time before it can get wet on Diamond body 18month coating. Also can buy the consumer version of Body and Body 36. There is also the Pro Line as well.

Auto Obsessed cannot comment on who was first, we are restating what CarPro has released in their marketing and they claim this "siloxane nano-diamond coating - the first ever coating to offer mechanical resistance to swirls and scratches". What we can tell you is that CarPro is one of the first to offer consumer and professional ceramic coatings to the world and is one of the top coating companies. Auto Obsessed been using CarPro coatings since 2010, which is much longer than most coating companies have even been in business and the CarPro range offers some very impressive products. CarPro Professional and CarPro Finest Reserve have been top shelf and we see cars performing up to nine years, summer and winter driving. The DQuartz is new and time will tell how it performs in the real world and in our harsh Canadian climate, if it is anything like their CQuartz line-up then it will be very impressive. CarPro has mentioned they may release a version of DQuartz for consumers so we will have top wait for another announcement from them.

Could you share your experience on the following points? How many layers of Dquartz as base coating and CQ Finest Reserve as top coating are required to extend the durability of the entire coating to 5 years? From your experience, what are the pros & cons of a 2 layer CQ Finest Reserve coating vs. a combination of DQ as a baselayer and CQ Finest Reserve as a top layer? Which variant would you recommend given your experience? DQ is supposed to be more tacky than CQ FR and CQ Professional - will this also make DQ much harder to remove when the coating loses its effectiveness & increases the risk of bringing in new swirls during the removal process?

For the first question, 2 Layers of DQuartz topped by 1 layer of Finest Reserve gives the coating a 5 year warranty by CarPro themselves, not speaking to the longevity past the warranty. 2 FR Coating would not offer the scratch resistance of DQ, but with DQ and FR you get scratch resistance and pleasing water beading. Lastly, yes DQ would be harder to remove than CQP and FR, most notably when you're trying to chemically remove the coating. If you're mechanically removing the coating (DA polishing) you won't notice the difference.

What is the difference between Carpro SIC vs DQuartz?

CQuartz SIC is a consumer coating with enhanced hydrophobics and looks over the previous CQuartz(Original) and current CQuartz UK 3.0. DQuartz is a professional coating with new technology for enhanced hardness to reduce scratching so very different from the others which is why they would have created a NEW coating and not a revision to an existing coating.

If the rain didn't cause any marks, stains or water spots then you should be fine. If there is damage to the coating then you will need to polish it off and reapply.

can you please breakdown the durability? if I add 2 Coats of DQuartz I will get 4 years? if I add 1 Layer of Dquartz & 1 Layer of finest reserve I get 5 Years?

CarPro states, 2 years for DQuartz add 2 years if topped with CQPro and add 3 years if topped with CQFR. Meaning DQuartz coating only 2 years or DQuartz Base + CQuartz Professional = 4years or DQuartz Base + CQuartz Finest Reserve = 5 years. This info is stated on the warranty card from CarPro DQuartz and what we are basing the info on.

CarPro has always been conservative with their longevity claims. We have seen cars go over 8 years with CarPro CQuartz Professional and CarPro CQuartz Finest Reserve Professional coatings. The biggest factors are vehicle usage, the region the vehicle is being driven in, and how is the vehicle being maintained. These factors also affect how long the coating will last.

Im surprised by the long wait 2-3mins with this professional grade coating . Usually for other brand it should be wiped off within 10 secs-1min because of the condense. And the price for this bottle is 2100$ 😬

Coating flash times are all different based on type and shop conditions. As for the cost of the bottle I am afraid that you are gravely miss-informed, the entire cost of the installation would be around that price, depending on country and region.
